The weather forecast for both nights of Manchester is pretty appalling. Does anyone know what the contingency plans are if one or both are rained off? Race on Sunday or even Monday?

Travelling up from the South-mEast so want to assess Plan B options!

Met office now has it dry both Friday and Saturday.

I’d recommend the Longsite Sports & Social club down the road. There’s a collectors fare on and Lynn & Co will ply you with cheap booze. Plenty of banter with our Polish friends as well plus lots of speedway memorabilia to idle the time away with (mostly Aces based).

Be aware....

If you want to see practice and the sprint race on Friday you'll need a free ticket:
https://mpv.tickets.com/schedule/?agency=BVMS_MPV&orgid=53193#/sales_groups;salesGroupType=ACCOUNT_PROTECTED

Also.....
Practice starts at 2:00 p.m. but the parking at St Peter's school does not open till 4:30 p.m. I queried this with BV and they recommend the park and ride. They did offer to refund my St Peter's booking.

This place is good, but note takes cash only. 👍

Sure they would rather not do 2 in a day but  officials, riders and fans travel, hotels would surely come into any discussions along with a detailed weather forecast.

Logistical nightmare for the fans .. Some fans may have bought tickets for only one event. Perhaps Mayfield have tempted fate by stating only 2 SGPs cancelled for rain in the last 10 years.

Hopefully the fanzone will be better this year with more outlets for food , drink merchandise etc

Last years fanzine was poor to say the least.

It was non-existent in Prague and no merchandise available other than for Czech speedway or Dudek.

Likely the only financially viable way to have a gp in the UK is to have 2 back to back. UK is an island and not as easy to get to as many other euro countries. Same as why no gp in Australia, and surely with 4 riders deemed good enough to be in the series it deserves a GP.

Might be right on the financial aspect. As a fan I love the idea of two GPs over two nights. But from a series point of view, it's huge, so if a rider is injured like Dan and Freddie and miss both nights, that's a huge chunk of points lost, which doesn't seem quite fair.

I have checked BBC weather and Rainfall Radar this morning and the forecast for the week including Friday and Saturday in Manchester is dreadful.

I loved Bewley’s social media post yesterday 😂 “I hope this weekend is called off, I prefer October anyway” 😆 now this could be just a joking comment, but mixed with ML saying he is in the market for a replacement rider for Dan this season, maybe it’s more than a joke 😉

It will be what it is...

I stopped taking too much notice of forecasts when they started putting "weather permitting" in the small print.
