I agree any youngster would have to be special Talent to come in mix it straight away with these seasoned GP guys they don’t take prisoners. That one of the reasons I think Kvech is underrated he is  still only 24.

Tom B is a perfect example of the gap between where he is and the top lads are...

A decent rider who will have a decent career in the UK, (if you can still have a career in the UK five years from now:o)...

Tom found bikes being fired at him from all angles, full throttle, with not a thought to switch off, nor any split second of doubt from riders when committed to a manoeuvre...

Even Dan Bewley struggled for a fair while when he was coming back from injuries and suddenly the levels went skywards from the usual domestic racing, when at the GP's....

Even Dan couldn't give three World Class riders a lead out of bend two, lap one, and expect to consistently get by all three...

Probably half way through last season, Dan visually started to mix it more and his results showed the improvement needed, and this year he carried on from where he left off with an obvious more attacking approach..

The lads at the "next level down" certainly have a huge gap to bridge to get to that rarefied level that many have been at now for a good many years...

The younger riders who rode last night, and those watching on TV, or in the stands, could truly be traumatised by watching the level of capability of the very best....  :D

They must see a gulf between their level and the level of the top lads...

People say that want "new faces" in the GP's, but the bottom line is the older heads, of many GP years standing, are still considerably better, and even, still now, more attacking and aggressive....

Add in Bewley, Lindgren and Kubera to this weekends action and it would have raised it up even more, even higher from the incredible standard it was....

Hopefully they'll be inspired more than traumatised 👍🏻

I don't think we want new faces for new faces sake, we just want the best faces.

Don't forget Bewley and Holder got their spots thanks to the ban of the Russians and they weren't really at the level they're at now (obvs) but grabbed their chance with both hands.

Bewley and Holder were very talented as it has proved.

Agreed, they weren't GP standard at the time though, Bewley was awarded a GP place ahead of others who finished ahead of him in the previous years GP Challenge... and Holder didn't make that GP Challenge at all, they both rose to the challenge (forgive pun) and they had a few years of experience (internationally) under their belts. DJ Woffy was totally out of his depth first time around in the GP's

Good racing across the two meetings but I can’t but help feel two consecutive GPs at the same track isn’t a good for the sport.  Maybe it’s a necessity at the moment given the economics.

Wroclaw next so that’s 3 home GPs for Kurtz….

Think consecutive nights is not great, perhaps should have 1 early season and 1 late season if having 2.The  venue deserves 2 if financially viable.

I don't think it is though without the East Stand, isn't that why they're held back to back?

Mind you, weren't Cardiff and Manchester both originally on the calendar for last year? I dread to think what the Manchester ticket prices would have been if it were a stand alone GP.

Forgot about the Temporary Stand.

That certainly would be an expensive addition.Unless they could lease it for the season once it’s up.(doubtful)

Tom has been poor for Ipswich on more than one occasion so far this season, so are you saying he's not really ready for the premiership yet? I don't think you are so he's simply inconsistent.

He's not ready to be a Premiership number 1, he's averaging 6.49 this season but bizarrely his GSA has increased from 7.05 to 7.49! Musielak averaging 8, rolling GSA 6.40

Something ain't right with the way they're working these averages out!

You obviously missed the announcement on 20th May  that Vastervik is hosting the SON and SON 2 finals in 2027

Woot. Guessing you don't have dates? My family are in the process of booking Florida for first 2 weeks of August 2027.

Kubera is an appallingly boring gating tart. Thomsen is better.

This is true. But it was either him or Nicholls who hadn't done a thing for years (ever). As 2nd Brit with Harris. Had 2012 out GPs but won title in 2013... which he wouldn't have done but for Sayfutdinov injury.

Landshut was far better 2nd night.

Musielak still has Birmingham meetings in his rolling average.  King will surely be Witches #1 when it's all 2026.

Just got home and watched the final, the reason crowd sounds like no atmosphere they only had microphones down home straight.
South stand was crazy especially when Kurtz won, poles starting chants throughout  etc.

But all you can hear are the prawn sandwich brigade in expensive seats.

Sadly every time the camera panned to the crowd it did look a little that way, the average age of those they panned to must have been age 50!  The fanbase/lack of excitement in the crows not a great advert really to any young fans watching at home.

The racing was superb across both nights, I am still not sure two GPs across the same weekend is good for the sport. In most cases riders that not dialled in on the first night, are probably not going to be dialled in on the second night.

The TV production also seemed to focus on riders battling for 3rd/4th and a couple of times missed a race at the front.

"Speedway from the Gods"

I think Friday night the racing was better , on Saturday it took a few heats to get going but ended in a Crescendo .

One night  GP at the NSS would be ideal but financially its not viable with the current capacity of the stadium.

The Fanzone has run its course a bit unless it has more substance cannot really see the point , we went in walked round in 5 minutes and came out.

Just want to add to the praise and thanks for the two stunning GPs - the racing was so exciting as the track comes to the riders as the meeting proceeds and no matter what anyone says, the fans in the stadium loved it even if they were filling in their programmes!

Met some nice fans, including a young man who has been seeing BV since 1955! He was as excited as anyone around when Kurtz won!

I am happy to get a 2 for 1 for such high quality speedway and I'll try and be back next season too - despite having my car broken into in a city centre car park, it was worth it (almost!)

I feel like both nights were the opposite to each other personally. Friday started off electric and gradually weakened until it finished, whereas Saturday started slower and ramped up to an epic final.

If I were given the choice I would choose Saturday as a brilliant final leaves a better taste in the mouth.

Agree Friday semi and final spoilt by the rain but I feel overall slightly better on Friday but I’m nitpicking both nights were very good

2 nites of fast and furious racing, nearly worth the ticket price, £2 each way ont bus, from city centre , but £7 a pint 😲 if your going to have a fan zone, the short appearance of the riders won't keep fans standing around all day, and with very little else in the area to mingle and meet fellow fans, how about, having local singers/ bands on during the afternoon in a marquee with a beer stall 🤔
