When we beat you in the semi final at your place, the cameras shown alot of your fans leaving the stadium at heat 14.

I out on my belle vue Facebook group that you seen the aces now f off home. A little joke, and the response from people was wild saying this is not football. That that attitude elsewhere we dont need this in speedway.

Well yes, yes we do need this. It needs to become tribal.

Ive always said get rid of the family sport image because end of the day its bikes with no brakes, with riders risking there life every single heat. Thats extreme. And should be sold as an extreme sport.

I said to one speedway club owner. I wont name sorry, we need to bring in betting firms on race nights. More people will come if you can bet on races at the track. And his response was we dont want that type of people at speedway. Crazy

Bring tribalism back

Totally agree you need some needle & wind up between the supporters.

personally I’m not so sure on the betting at the stadium but I’m with you on needing to get ot tribal.

People are too woke to handle a bit of banter, needle and wind up these days.

Hence why Comedians aren't allowed to speak the truth during their gigs anymore.

Anyone who has access to Facebook take a look at Ipswich stadium and it is packed to the gunnels. Crowds that speedway can only dream of but hopefully a GP at Ipswich and let’s hope BelleVue can stage one and generate a good deal of interest for the sport in the UK. Until then take a look at tonight’s match in Poland to remember/realise how good it can be.

I went to the banger world final last night. Despite the large crowd there was a huge amount of waiting around for crashed cars to be cleared.

However, the presentation made it feel like this was a proper event, it mattered. Even though it is a bunch of amateurs and the luckiest one who wins.

The build up to the world final was impressive and the Witches need to do something similar for the start of their meetings imo.

The key words being "proper event"....

Not something more akin to a social gathering, and that includes many of the riders too...

You need away fans there in decent numbers to make it happen...

Something promoters don't seem to appreciate..

Never going to happen tbh, Promoters can barely get Home fans to turn up regularly let alone Away fans.

Totally agree, didn't do the 70's and 80's any harm with crowd numbers.Plenty of burning witches etc.

As regard betting firms on a race night,if it brings in more punters how could that be wrong. What's wrong with someone who likes a flutter, even i would put a pound or two on a race😁

Always make the away fans feel welcome and try to make try to make it financially  possible , entry, transport costs , access , not easy I know in this ever increasing financially insecure times , especially with the ever increasing fuel costs.

I agree, however, getting more away fans in will automatically mean better atmosphere, which, in turn, will encourage more home fans to visit more regularly...

The play offs show the reach of the respective clubs as their crowds sometimes double, and more...

The reason? They actually looks like they have something riding on them (pardon the pun)..

The challenge is to make every meeting "an event" which stands alone to engage people to attend ..

The support is out there, as many, many meetings show..

It's just the lack of any real jeopardy or consequence, that keep people away until the back end of the season, and then any momentum is lost as the season ends .

I mentioned the Wolves matches of the 90's earlier. I never missed them, nor did many others who, like me, didn't attend every week..

It's a virtuous circle, get a decent crowd, then you generate atmosphere, generate atmosphere and you generate further decent crowds, with word of mouth hopefully increasing them further .

I also never missed Nicki P riding at Belle Vue. A perfect pantomime villian...

And also what was noticeable when Nicki P visited was the larger then usual crowd to see him race against Jason Crump...

The blueprint is there, and has been used successfully, they just need to start to use it again, but using a 2026 fit for purpose version of it ..

A minimum of 50 or so, vocal away fans at every track would be a good start in generating some much needed atmosphere...

A real opportunity for promoters...

Similar to the effect Emil had particularly the first year he rode for Ipswich it was quoted by fans and promoters at the time his visit put more bum on seats at every away track - if uk speedway can somehow produce a better product and entice the some top end riders back then the route to more fans through the gate regularly is there

Pretty alarming that some folk can't distinguish tribalism from abuse and violence.

Equally alarming that people actually WANT that sort of behaviour at speedway.  Coleman has already dropped a clanger in moving the GP from the one outstanding track in the UK to one of the poorest.  The fact that he seems to now want wanton thuggery and violence at tracks is genuinely terrifying.
