You never changed jobs before? Known of anyone doing an apprenticeship with a company and then leaving? 3 years is a lot more than some clubs would've gotten.

Shame Tates time as a comet has come to an end. He’ll probably be looking to get a team place in Poland next season, and if it is the 2nd division, they mainly race Saturdays so that could be in his thinking too. All the best for the future.

Posted on social media by Workington Speedway.

This weekend, Tate Zischke has informed the promotion of his desire to ride elsewhere in the 2027 campaign. Despite every effort to retain Tate, we sadly accept his decision to leave the Comets following 3 seasons with the club. Tate joined the side in 2024 and has continually improved season by season, we wish him well for upcoming seasons and future events.

I don’t think you can blame the lad that much, he’s rode for the club for 3 years which is a reasonable length of time and wants to move on. If he had slagged the club off or left mid way through a season I could maybe understand some anger but he’s within his rights to decide where he wants to ride

This should stop testimonials for the riders though (not benefit meetings).

When you are declaring yourself as self employed and the clubs get nothing from you moving to another club, then you should give up your right to a testimonial (surely cannot have it both ways).

I always hoped when the asset system disappeared, it would be easier for Brits to get team places?

You could spend a lot of money flying an Aussie over, or spend time & effort sorting out a visa for a European, they can be poor meaning a waste of time or good & leave to go to another club.

In theory the likes of Alfie Bowtell, Ben Morley, Danyon Hume (when fit) should get team spots every year? It wasn't that long ago Dan Thompson started without a Champ team.

Aww boo hoo.

Rusty Harrison.

What goes around comes around.

PS Still not guaranteed that he's off to Glasgow. They've allegedly signed Flint, Harris, Rowe, Dan Thompson,  Luke Harrison and Zischke so they must be running 2 teams at Ashfield this year!

Silly season in full swing. If he’s wanting to learn different tracks etc I wouldn’t be surprised to see him at Edinburgh.

And some rumours saying Rob is going to open his wallet and he could be off to Scunthorpe.

If he does end up there, I'd deffo take Jonatan Grahn at Northside. He's scored 58 points + 8 bp, in just 6 meetings here

So... looking at riders from 2026, Tate is moving on, Drew has signed for Berwick... Max's Facebook page indicates he fell out of love with the sport towards the end of the year... Rumours have suggested Batch might be 'south bound'... Feels like 2027 will be a year of new riders unless the likes of Hooky and Vuolas are considered...

Time will tell...

I've heard Mr.Bain's has planned to tackle team building completely different.

If the rumours are true, he plans to get a lot of new additions

Viv muddle came over with Tate last year. He has been getting at least a few pointers from Darcy Ward this year. Does he qualify for a visa? Could he be the comets next up and coming Aussie?
