95% that's a lot who don't know or care you won't win the league if you can't win away from home

Don't bother going to Leicester then because there were at least 4 there tonight and sorry to disappoint you but no dog poo and no barking. You always know someone is losing the argument when they resort to stupid comments like taking a dog to the cinema . Speedway attendances of a few hundred people standing on a grassy bank as against thousands seated at a Football match is another daft comment not really worthy of a reply.

Hate to intrude but in these tough times for the Brummies, can I just suggest (and hope) that people take care with what they say and do. Many years ago, there was a 'feeding frenzy' online about Eastbourne. Whether people's complaints were justified, or not, the comments did harm. They sapped morale throughout the club and it fed to sponsors. It was not a pretty. Maybe Birmingham speedway needs to put someone 'up' to be the face of the club to answer queries/complaints etc...most of which are best done in private as feedback. We are fortunate at Eastbourne that the club's directors 'get it' - Jon and Ian welcome feedback (done properly, of course) and when long queues built up at the turnstiles, they went to talk to the supporters waiting to explain what was going on and that we wouldn't miss a race. It's a two-way street from both the club and supporters point of view. Just be nice.

Don't think any of us sitting at a keyboard is in any position to mock a rider who has come back from such a serious injury. He gave it a shot and hats off to him for having the balls to do it. But it was best for all concerned he stepped down.

Oh no your back dividing up people into fans and supporters, anyway that`s rubbish. With these new fangled things such as social media and internet it is easier than ever to see and scrutinise our meetings home and away and see what riders is scoring what, if you think people are only interested in what Berwick do at home then you are wrong.

While he was doing the donut after heat 15, I remarked that he was showing us what he scored at Armadale last night

Pretty good meeting in far from ideal conditions it was so bitterly cold tonight. At least the rain stayed away. Would not have expected Sweden to win it, but Lindgren rode superbly and Ljung after a slow beginning did improve sufficiently during the meeting. Poland would still have won but for that last heat 3-3 against Germany, when local reserve Michael Härtel's single point against Patryk Dudek became the saviour for the German team and the match winner for Sweden. There was some decent racing on this track tonight, but the attendance was less than what it usually is for big meetings at this track, due to the uncertain and unpleasant weather conditions.

Thanks for the tip , I will avoid Leicester then. as for " losing the argument " and " stupid comments " , your comments seem pretty stupid as well

Couldn’t disagree with a post more, what sort of ambition is that? What would you prefer Someone scoring 12 from 5 at home in 55-35 wins and 0 from 3 away in 49-41 defeats Or Someone scoring 7 from 4 at home in 50-40 wins and 5 from 4 away in 46-44 wins? I know what gets you more league points and trophies. You’re still winning on a weekly basis at home?

Luke Ruddick guesting in place of Chessell. It was a case of when and not if he decided to step down as he was so far off the pace.

Got to say I thought tonights meeting was brilliant i think the light showers helped prepare a perfect consistent track for the riders to produce some good close racing. Thank you to the Eastbourne team for finally giving the Leicester public a competitive meeting to watch & but for the final 3 heats it was close.

Why wouldn't you take 'em to speedway? I'm sure they would like Dean Barker, Tai Woofinden, Terrier Betts, and the like. Not forgetting Lassie Bjerre, or most of the Great Danes, actually... Steve

Apologies if this has been done before, I'm a bit a bit in and out of the forum these days.... I'm regaining my passion for the sport (it was severely damaged by the temporary closure of Brandon). As a result, I've started to travel to more meetings but I want to take all of my family, including my boy, Lenny (greyhound cross). The hard bit is trying to determine which tracks will let Lenny in. Many team websites don't say one way or the other. So, can we assemble our own list for the benefit of dog owning fans please? I've started my list below and will edit this as this wonderful group post further information. Yes Berwick Coventry Eastbourne Edinburgh Leicester Ipswich Isle of Wight King's Lynn Peterborough Plymouth Poole Redcar Rye House Scunthorpe Somerset Stoke No Belle Vue Glasgow Newcastle Sheffield Sittingbourne (Kent) Swindon Wolverhampton

First rider whose autograph I asked for!! He was in the second half in the first meeting I ever went to and was number 1 in the averages by the end of the season. 1971 As I've said on here before the Second Half finals were often a bit like stock cars with the young men throwing their bikes at each other.

Wrist injury for Josh. Agree that it was a good meeting to watch with some close racing throughout.

Then they need to have a rethink. It’s crap.

But 95% of a home crowd don't know, or care, what happens on the road. They only see an absolute star, beating the likes of Cook and Wells every week! So Dany, infuriating as he may be, has to stay as long as he top-scores, and wins matches at home, week after week....

I found it very boring. I don’t like pairs competitions, and like them even less after that. I recorded it, like I do all televised speedway meetings, but like many others, this tonight was deleted straight after. Let’s see what Belle Vue throws up.

Good meeting with entertaining racing. Superb last bend pass by Jordan Stewart to pass Jake Allen Great to see Jack Smith get 6 points with a tough heat 12 against two heat leaders but still on pace with them. Charles Wright was immaculate. Excellent score from Danny Ayres... Look forward to my next visit

Odds on Wally being the first no show of the season? First to fence an opponent? and First to have an own team scrap with Danny Ayres?
