Was always that 21 or under at the start of the season (might even have been March 1st) counted as under 21.

2027 - 8 Team Premiership

Be strange for stock car promoter to trail big announcement and for it to be about speedway. Surely the announcement has to be about reopening Arlington and details of first stock car meeting. -

This time last year Jacob Thorssell was heavilly linked, wasn’t his average rumoured to be an assessed 4.50?? Wouldn’t Kim Nilsson also be reassessed at that figure?
-
Not ideal considering one of only two trophies available is contested early doors. Could be out of the KOC before the season has even got going. There’ll be some quality in the team though so maybe it won’t be an issue regardless of any early home rustiness.
-
I'm not so sure about that, just based on his home / away split. 7.33 (8.86) vs 3.35 (3.91).
-
Not a massive risk due to the play-offs. As long as any new riders learn their way round by mid-season. Mind you depending how the track is altered, home advantage would be lessened anyway.

As Edinburgh don't often make too many changes & I think Wolbert would be a great signing, came up with this team. Edinburgh Kye Thomson 8.23 Justin Sedgmen 6.84 Paco Castagna 5.88 Jonatan Grahn 5.63 Kevin Wolbert 5.00 Lasse Fredriksen 4.71 Jordy Loftus 3.67 Total 39.96

Obviously it's all opinions at this stage, but I think quite a few of the Poole riders are being under rated by many. Lightcap averaged 4.83, but remains on 4.00 as he didn't ride enough matches. Considering he started half way through the year on tracks all new to him, I think that's decent & can see him at least putting a point on his (4.83) average. Cairns stepped up from the easier no 7 position & scored well at number 6, then carried on his form when he moved into the top 5. So if have no qualms about him riding at 5 & would expect his average to go up. You could also say he's on a slightly "false" average as his 2026 ave was 6.94 from 18 matches, counting the last 2 from 2025 drops his rolling ave to 6.61 (6.44 with reduction). I see no reason why Rushen's 2nd season won't be similar to Cairns' so expect maybe 2 points on his average. Then Kennett has shown what he can do when guesting. The more I think about it, can see them romping away with the league.

Anything more on this yet?

If we're expecting surprises, how about this team? Using Newman, left room for a stronger 2nd heat leader, Sedgmen was the highest available that fits in! Poole Richard Lawson 8.15 Justin Sedgmen 6.84 Will Cairns 6.44 Cooper Rushen 5.01 Kyle Newman 4.92 Edward Kennett 4.62 Slater Lightcap 4.00 Total 39.98

Which riders were there? -
Never mind 2025, this season if you included the average of the RS only one team was over 40 points at the start whilst the rest were high 30’s. If you’ve been taken in by the repeated guff from the witches trolls, it would be the last team you’d think of.

Absolutely no-one. -
What do you mean maybe not? Both things Gavan said that you’ve just quoted is true. The club did stand by him this year when many would have gotten rid, and he was happy there. It’s simply now a case that Ipswich can’t fit him in with the heatleaders they’ve signed.

Light cap has to come back in my opinion.

Or maybe not.

Marketing British Speedway - Can you help?
wrighto74 replied to wrighto74's topic in 'The Way Ahead'
Fair point. Excuse my clumsy wording, when I said investment I meant finding ways of getting greater exposure for the sport which people with expertise in social media, marketing, content creation etc could potentially help with. Investment is of course the domain of Speedway Futures. My bad. -
Poole could do with an established 2nd heatleader(assuming Lawson is back)relying on improving young talent at present.
-
Is that the league above Lawson and Toby was in? Has much changed as of course Poole always had Dane’s in their team, Pedersen Anderson Klindt, is that definitely a dealbreaker? I guess it rules out him doubling up in the UK which is probably what would’ve needed to happen. Either way plenty of 5pointers out there if that was the plan, just about getting the right one and more importantly the dominos falling in place
-
Poole have to lose nearly 5 points from this year's team to get under the limit, Zac was gonna miss this year in championship until Poole persuaded him not too
-
Not that I’ve seen, but with Masters Killeen and Brennan that’s already a huge chunk of points, someone I think said there’s another big rider signing, I think Howarth was mentioned? So I think it was more just assumed he wouldn’t fit. As 99% of things on here are, it’s just rumours or guesses
-
Average wise I agree, in speedway it’s all about signing riders who can put points on their average, Slater could get near 6. Where as Kyle would likely be around 5
