After last weeks defeat by Poole the Comets will be looking to gain League points from this meeting against Edinburgh. The Monarchs however have a very handy side with big hitters in Dan Thompson, Justin Sedgemen and Kye Thomson, so another difficult meeting ahead. The weather on Saturday has showers forecast for the morning and early afternoon so the track will have some good natural watering!
-
Not forgetting that a clubs' net revenue will depend on if they own or rent their stadium/track. NB. Glad you enjoyed the visit if not the result.๐

Had a good run for my money though... After five heats the dough was done... And then the Lions roared!!!!! Exciting stuff....

I'm sure Lemon tried really hard ๐

Thank you for that response that emphasised rather than denied the point I was making. No one is doubting the quality of the track at Northside when it comes to competitive racing nor the commitment from Andrew Bain that has created the venue. But the team has struggled this year - and last after the temporary shutdown - and regardless of loyalty or the quality of the racing, many supporters wonโt pay to watch a losing team.

Think it was mentioned on another thread that Lawson would be at No 1 at the next set of new averages. -
Sad to see that the young stars rode a meeting at home on Wednesday and nobody on this forum noticed !

So thats twice hes breached his license and twice being returned to prison? And people think this thick idiot has learnt his lesson ha!

If Witches are to be in the mix at playoff time they need the averages to allow Brennan off #1. He is their best rider but is suffering from wise without having Bydgoszcz meetings. Are King, Lawson or Musielak at #1 likely soon?

They donโt start football matches win the green light.๐and the Ref blows his whistle to finish. -
All that damn tractoring cost me 40 mins due to M6 roadworks which I would have avoided if I had been able to leave around 9:20. Thank you very much Jason Doyle & Mark Lemon, completely innocuous slide off from Doyle should not have meant he had to withdraw from the meeting. Why Lemon insisted on using Blodorn in heat 9 as IRR rather than Klidemand was stupid, Belle Vue needed Blodorn in heat 13. He did however make a mockery of the gardening riders insist on doing in that heat, getting to the tapes with seconds to spare and making the best gate of the night. Absolutely stupid that Blodorn & Kurtz got a 5-1 in heat 11, Kurtz should have dropped back and allowed Masters past to prevent the TR in heat 12. I said that to several Leicester fans during the interval, before it happened. That gave Leicester the opportunity to give Douglas an extra ride which they consequently got a 5-1 from handing the impetus to the home team. Had Douglas not been in that heat Morris (probably) wouldn't have performed as well and Douglas (probably) wouldn't have passed Kurtz in heat 13. All that said when push came to shove, all but Blodorn & Kurtz went missing when it mattered. Zischke probably had his best ride I've witnessed in the rerun after the Doyle fall, passed both Lions then made a mistake that let both through. The only reason Kemp passed Cook in heat 7 was because Cook was trying to team ride Kildemand who kept losing speed on the exit of turn 2. If these two teams are to contest the playoff final, which looks very likely. Lions will need to hit 55 at Beaumont Park to have any chance. #verysourgrapes ๐

I remember when 2,500 was considered a small crowd and 3,000 was a break even crowd! ๐

Sure I read the issue was with the floodlights which arenโt needed for the football at this time of year -

Never had any intention of changing, even though MPT is a liability.

Don't disagree with any of that if the Bates chuck the towel in who knows if someone new will step in. I've just been watching my son learn to snowboard and was passing the time reading an article on music festivals and you could read across to speedway , a few years ago there were over a 1,000 a year now roughly 500 and falling, the article quoted almost same problems as speedway repetition of acts, to high ticket prices, cost of running the whole set up gone through the roof since covid, people prefer watching big acts in footy stadiums. -
