The Glasgow owners are once again linking the Glasgow line up with local charities and gifting each of them £500. They hope that people will also think about those less well off and also donate what they can to the charity linked to each rider. So each charity will get a bit of publicity and much needed funds. Might explain why they are not releasing the names of the riders all at the same time.

Surely he’s leading the way… practice sessions ran virtually 3 weekends a month, amateur meetings regularly, track private hires with many youth/pre ndl riders using the track… this ventures a good move imo and hopefully it works out for both clubs

Oxford are severely underrated imo, They've got at least 4 riders who can get around any track whether it's technical or not, It's a 3rd/4th placed team imo behind Ips/Sheff and possibly behind BV too, Way better than the overhyped KL, Better than Leicester that looks like a one track pony team and better than Brum who won't have any strong 2nd strings. Maciej Janowski only got the chop from the GP's out of wokeness to hit diversity targets, He finished 3rd in 2022 so he's not declining in the slightest, Like Ellis just one bad season. Chris Harris always puts the big boys to the sword in British Speedway, He's made a career out of it, Always gets written off but he's a top signing for anyone. Rohan Tungate is a rider who's improved in recent seasons, Seen what he's capable of when riding for Belle Vue as well as a few meetings for Ipswich in 2022, May struggle around Leicester but apart from that almost every track is big and that suits Rohan down to the ground. Charles Wright is a very consistent performer who's Home and Away average in 2023 are identical around the 6.5 mark (Excluding BP's) and he's going to ride at 2 instead of 3/4. Nicolai Klindt spent part of the season at No.1 for KL, When he switched to No.5 he then started to score double figures almost every week. Lewis Kerr has years of experience over the British youngsters at reserve in 2023 and he'll be the best reserve in the league imo.

You haven’t just given your opinion though have you, Orion. Everybody (well most) can see right through your trolling drivel. You can not rate it as much as others, no problem. I think that you will find that Kerr has only been dropped once due to poor form, and that was the 2022 season at Kings Lynn. Sheffield last season was down to the injuries to other riders and nothing to do with his form. I would say that Palm Toft is a gamble he never seems to finish a season without injury.

Looks a good team to me, can't agree with the very odd poster who thinks it looks poor. Great number one, solid throughout & possibly the best reserve in the league. Bringing riders back to the UK, using 4 Brits, what's not to like? Ok one thing, that there is only ONE Spire / Cheetah doubling up is odd to me.

Poor form ? Now you are definitely on the wind up. The arrival of Tai had seen them linking up really well and Kerr back on form. Not sure what you expect from a number 6, but his last 6 meetings for Sheffield were 5, 7, 5+1, 6, 6+2, 9+4.

This Oxford side is full of question marks. Magic will he still be the Magic that was at Poole 8 years ago or will he be more like a KK or Laguta. Wright coming back from a bad injury without the wide open spaces of B.V. to get his confidence back could struggle. Before anyone says anything I’ve always liked Wright an out & out racer. Harris, well you know what your going to get a great team man who is still a proven heat leader. Great if tracks are rough will always get stuck in. Tungate, as an Ipswich supporter I can only say hugely frustrating. Has bags of talent & ability however has never really fulfilled it. With his gating gloves on you won’t get near him. However if he misses the start or is tight situations always seems to come off 2nd best. Klint, was poor at the start of last season & really started to hit some form. One of the best visiting riders I’ve seen at Ipswich & he can gate. My concern is the injury he is coming back from. The two reserves I agree Kerr is probably the best reserve in the league as thing’s currently stand & Ashton is probably one of the best talents in his age group anywhere.

It's awfully sad that Wolves have closed, but let's not rewrite history, it was a poor racing track. "Raved about on Sky" - Nigel Pearson would've raved about speedway in someone's back garden, it was his job. "Hosted British Finals" - so did Kirkmanshulme Lane, it was still a crap track. God knows how crowd size comes into the track argument, I suppose you had nothing else.

I hope Rob has all the influence over the team building etc.I can't take to Allitt like many people.He seems quite smug,and i don't like the way i have heard him speak to people neither,especially the fans who pay good money to come in.He has to realise those people are allowed opinions too.

As has been said, what the Brummies don't need is a "has been". Shamek Pawlicki fits that description down to a tee. Out of interest, What average would Dominik Kubera come in on? 24 years old, 7th in the Polish averages, rides in Sweden, so not unfamiliar with commuting. Just saying... If we're playing fantasy speedway predictions, he'd be a better bet than Dudek or either of the Pawlicki brothers. If there are to be 3 x Polish riders in the team, then to get solid performances, without requiring superstar salaries, I'd go for Dominik Kubera, Maksim Drabik and Oskar Fajfer. Potty Pawlicki is an option but he strikes me as being a "mini-Pedersen" and I don't know how long he'd be able to stay out of trouble. And trouble is one thing we don't need.

Well Allitt has now been mentioned in the latest press release regarding the riders released from last season.Lambert was great last season,the only thing he did wrong was to be too good.Sounds silly i know,but his average is what i would call an awkward one.

We do seem to measure the young Brits far too critically... They don't need to all be a "Robert Lambert", just being a "Simon Lambert" will be more than enough to help the sport going forward in the UK... Starke, Complin, S Lambert, Barker, (and probably many more), all fill team places over here each season, and all have been quite a way from the "top level", yet all ensure teams come to the tapes each season.. It's the same with the "rising stars" and, "professional juniors", who, now after three to four seasons of riding, are now very close to their level that they will continue to ride at, naturally replacing the older Championship Second String level riders mentioned above.. Just let the lads ride and see where they get to.. The sport needs UK riders taking up plenty of the team places so let's just hope they reach that standard first...

Myself and Carl Johnson attended the Parish Council meeting this evening with about 25 supporters (thanks guys). I spoke at length to the council about the current situation facing the club and I am pleased to say that the Parish Council have agreed to submit an application to Peterborough City Council to apply for the Speedway Track and surrounds (including the grandstand) to be considered for an Asset of Community Value. The fact the Parish Council has agreed to do this (we never asked them to do this) is very pleasing and it demonstrates that the Parish Council of Orton Waterville (which covers the Showground) are 100% supportive of Peterborough Panthers Speedway Club being retained in Peterborough. I suspect that would have been the best attended Parish Council meeting of the year, extra chairs were required, although I think initially they thought it was some sort of Internet Flash Mob that had turned up with flags and banners! Special mention to the (very) young Panthers supporting children who came, you guys were amazing. Thanks also to Cllr Julie Stevenson for her continuing commitment in our quest to retain Speedway in Peterborough.

One thing is for sure. Home wins are going to be crucial next season. It looks to me it will be like it was all them years ago when away wins were rare. looks a good season on the cards

If the MainSpeedwayManFan is truly in charge of team acquisition them don't rule out an attempt to coax James Shanes out of retirement to become our "rising star"
