  1. Before you berate Redcar again due to a lack of information, I think it’s time we make some facts clear. Jordan Stewart applied for his visa in December 2020. It’s taken UKVI almost 6 months to process his visa, entirely due to Covid 19 and not because of any lack of urgency by rider or promotion. His visa arrived for Redcar last Saturday! As clubs that pride ourselves on a professional approach, both Redcar and Ipswich have done everything as early as we possibly could, but have been in the hands of the people and organisations that process these applications. Covid has caused an endless number of problems for all of us, visas being one of them. I hope that clear things up. Regards, Jitendra Duffill

  2. Good meeting that.. Lambert again showing his progression to the very top level.. Be good for the young UK lads to watch him and how much you need that 'forceful' style of riding at the very top level to be successful.. You cant wait for mistakes in Poland to pass, or hope the track has an outside line to help you.. As the very top riders show, sometimes you have to force the issue at the highest level..

  3. What is the point of all the moaning? Embrace what we have to work with. The only other option was to shut for this year and probably for good.

  4. I’m just pleased to see live action in a stadium with fans. I thought the result was fair and well done to both teams for entertaining us on such a cold evening. I bet Swindon and Somerset fans would love to be in our position.

  5. Something that Dan Bewley currently lacks is the aggression of Woffinden and Lambert. Needs to build up his strength and not worry about upsetting a rival ad he forces his way through. He might get there.

  9. Number 1 in heat 1 always has to start on gate 3 or 4 which on most tracks are tougher and then heat 1 is usually harder to pass in as all the grip on inside.

  11. I had my first covid jab about a month or so back, felt fine. Went to work next day feeling great, mid morning started to feel a bit iffy and by the evening I was awful I know a lot of people who have had no reactions from the jab but know an awful lot more that have been really unwell with it like myself. Don't judge

  12. Berwick also 3 team tournament’s every week , apparently we are planning to invade Berwick before the Vikings catch wind of it. That’s what Nicoliar said so must be true , unless of course she can’t remember.

  15. Speedway still in the dark ages. Whole market out there willing to pay a tenner for a stream. £10,000 going begging. Denmark stream for free. About time the sport realised there’s lots of money to be made by streaming services and came into the 21st century.

  16. Not forgetting the riders they had to beat to get these averages. The standard and strength in depth has declined a lot from these days.No1’s nowadays probably only have a couple the beat in the opposition these days.(Tin Hat On)

  17. Agree there... However someone who was once deemed a 'gating tart', and nothing more, has developed into a much more forceful rider over the past few years.. The play off final at BV a few years ago a case in point when he and Lindgren came together.. The Kenny of earlier in his career wouldnt have got involved in that I would think.. Maybe this year he has had the 'Polish persuasion' to buck his ideas up..

  19. Im a project manager on large new build construction sites so I know the effect the jab has caused on people, you have a good manager there 3H

  20. I was off 6 weeks after having mine in march, still far from 100% now. At least i get paid and my manager who only took over a few weeks before i had the jab was very understanding. He said my sickness record proves i'm not pulling a fast one, last time i was off sick was 3 years ago which was almost a 10 year gap from the previous time and the one before that was 8 years

  22. It's also noticeable that Jack Holder is now 'nearly there' when it comes to the very close contact stuff where blinking first loses you the race... I think that this year will see him outgrow the UK League, and move on to racing full time just against the very best.. Dropping back a level each week doesn't help as it doesn't provide a true picture of progression, or where you truly are in the pecking order... As you say Dan Bewley is in a similar position I would think.. And as daft as it may sound... Nearly there but with still a long way to go, given the huge level of performances, consistently delivered, that the very top riders can achieve...

  23. I've just re-read Reg Fearman's excellent book and that's something he highlighted when he broached the subject of stadium ownership.

  24. You are missing the point of my post. A stadium owned by the promoter is no guarantee of continuance, was my point! It was in response to the suggestion that speedway suffers closure, due to most promoters being tenants of a stadium.

  29. If my memory serves me correctly, it was the Americans in the mid seventies that introduced the extra lap of wheelies and fist pumping/ waving to the crowd, after a victory I don’t recall too much more other than a gentle, almost sheepish wave to the crowd after a win by a home rider at Swindon, I certainly can’t remember a victory lap. Once prior the arrival on our shores of messrs Penhall, the Moran brothers, Gresham and Autrey, things changed and fan interaction definitely increased. .

  30. I don't disagree with any of that except the 4th para. Danny and volunteer workforce were working at the track a couple of weekends ago, so a start has been made albeit a small one. How about starting a 'crowd funding' to help with the cost of the extra marshalls? Or maybe the supporters club (R.E.F.) might like to donate as they have continued to take member subscriptions right through lockdown?

  31. And very necessary and much appreciated by all, how cold was it last night . Lovely to see everyone back.

  32. Yes I agree with the first point. Home riders especially should be told to do a lap. Preferably without some boke waffling along constantly on the PA: yes we can see what's happening thanks! On the second point, if my memory serves me right, the late Craig Hodgson won his first race at the EoES during Rogers' tenure and Rogers stood at the pits gate (or rushed out) and indicated that Craig wasn't coming in to the pits and to jog on for an extra lap

  34. ....maybe it shouldn't, but it does happen!! Indeed, it has happened in two of the three matches this week - and in the third match, the home no.1 was third in a visitors' 5-1. If you're taking heat 1 in isolation, and saying that Brady Kurtz not getting 2nd in heat 1 cost the Aces a win, then you can say that Troy Batchelor and Craig Cook not winning their heat 1 cost Sheffield and King's Lynn a draw respectively. But, of course, other things happen in other heats that affect the final result. If only Jake Allen had not been passed by both Aces in heat 15 last night then Ipswich would still have won!!

  39. It is barmy isnt it? A sport whose leagues run with so little credibility and kudos, actually plan in to make it even less credible and give it even less kudos in winning.. And if anyone says "shortened season due to covid" then why run junior teams if fitting in first team meetings would be an issue this season.. Or.. Plenty of double headers with the junior team could have been replaced with two teams from their own league visiting.. What you often get when these meetings are planned in is "Team A" wanting the match on due to a 'weaker' "Team B", and "Team B" agreeing to it because they have lined up a track specialist ringer which actually can improve their chances. "Please take us seriously"...

  41. i'll wait until they accept cash at the door. I had a look at that ticketing web site, and if they are splashing people's names and booking information on their web site, then that's a GDPR nightmare waiting to explode. I'm not trusting my credit card details to a web site with such a cavalier attitude to personal data protection.

  45. You mean just as Leicester "haven't"? Leicester haven't followed the rules and plugged the gap. They've cheated and are illegally using the R/R facility. The NDL should put someone in place to police the rules and guard against such cheating. They could call him "NDL co-ordinator" or something like that.

  46. wouldn't say Redcar cost millions and its arguably the best track in the division. Facilities aren't plush but hey ho. If someone can get a field in a suitable spot, put the track in and build the facilities as you go = not cheap i know, but not millions. I've said it before but there are dozens of showgrounds where the land is unused for long periods, other than boot sales and they're usually out of town - Westpoint, Exeter for example or Royal Highland at Edinburgh
