Before you berate Redcar again due to a lack of information, I think it’s time we make some facts clear. Jordan Stewart applied for his visa in December 2020. It’s taken UKVI almost 6 months to process his visa, entirely due to Covid 19 and not because of any lack of urgency by rider or promotion. His visa arrived for Redcar last Saturday! As clubs that pride ourselves on a professional approach, both Redcar and Ipswich have done everything as early as we possibly could, but have been in the hands of the people and organisations that process these applications. Covid has caused an endless number of problems for all of us, visas being one of them. I hope that clear things up. Regards, Jitendra Duffill

Good meeting that.. Lambert again showing his progression to the very top level.. Be good for the young UK lads to watch him and how much you need that 'forceful' style of riding at the very top level to be successful.. You cant wait for mistakes in Poland to pass, or hope the track has an outside line to help you.. As the very top riders show, sometimes you have to force the issue at the highest level..

What is the point of all the moaning? Embrace what we have to work with. The only other option was to shut for this year and probably for good.

I’m just pleased to see live action in a stadium with fans. I thought the result was fair and well done to both teams for entertaining us on such a cold evening. I bet Swindon and Somerset fans would love to be in our position.

Something that Dan Bewley currently lacks is the aggression of Woffinden and Lambert. Needs to build up his strength and not worry about upsetting a rival ad he forces his way through. He might get there.

Number 1 in heat 1 always has to start on gate 3 or 4 which on most tracks are tougher and then heat 1 is usually harder to pass in as all the grip on inside.

Give him his due he has had 1or 2 seroius leg breaks over the years.

I had my first covid jab about a month or so back, felt fine. Went to work next day feeling great, mid morning started to feel a bit iffy and by the evening I was awful I know a lot of people who have had no reactions from the jab but know an awful lot more that have been really unwell with it like myself. Don't judge

Speedway still in the dark ages. Whole market out there willing to pay a tenner for a stream. £10,000 going begging. Denmark stream for free. About time the sport realised there’s lots of money to be made by streaming services and came into the 21st century.

Not forgetting the riders they had to beat to get these averages.The standard and strength in depth has declined a lot from these days.No1’s nowadays probably only have a couple the beat in the opposition these days.(Tin Hat On)

It isn't a case of not interacting with fans on social media simply requesting that questions for the club are directed through club@berwickspeedway.com where they will be always be answered promptly rather than left hanging in random threads across the internet where they may not if no-one from the club happens to stumble across them.

Agree there... However someone who was once deemed a 'gating tart', and nothing more, has developed into a much more forceful rider over the past few years.. The play off final at BV a few years ago a case in point when he and Lindgren came together.. The Kenny of earlier in his career wouldnt have got involved in that I would think.. Maybe this year he has had the 'Polish persuasion' to buck his ideas up..

100%.. And gone are the days of No1's picking their own gate, and if on gate 4 nowadays, then their opposite number can pretty much screw up their whole race at the first turn, given there is a far narrower difference in level between No1 riders to second strings now... In years gone by a poor first couple of turns could see the No1 rider finding himself at the back however he could, on many occasions, comfortably pass both his second string and the opposition's to finish second.. Not as easy nowadays given the No1 invariably isnt a 10/11 point average man..

Jason Doyle had a problem with his shoulder popping out for no reason. I saw him have a nasty crash at Rye House after it dislocated itself. I know he had an op to put it right & missed 6/8 months racing. but on the up side he went on to become a World Champion so there's hope for Henry yet. So far as facilities I would think R/R would be available. I know he has yet to race for Plymouth this season & that because of the weather. but with riders racing in more than one league this season the simple fact that the injury occured whilst racing in a British League should entitle all team's he is declared for a facility.

Chris Holder struggling badly. Old Father Time has caught him up I am afraid. Been a super rider in his time but think it could well be his last season the top flight. 0,0,0 must be doing his head in. Lublin looking so good. Other than Lambert Torun have nothing to offer.

Perhaps Batch and Cookie would need a run-off or a complain-off to decide the World Champion?

Yes we weren't allowed out of pits before during or after meeting. It was a bit like the old days tbh, people congregating around the riders Van's after the meeting.

You got more mentions than anything speedway related. They should have got you out on centre green to have a chat with JC

Think that we've been quite lucky in that respect at Peterborough. Most have tried their best even if they missed the target. Only real gripe that had to go being Horton's (the Mick version) introduction of the National Anthem. What a pile that was

Once the forecast had been issued at the weekend this meeting was never going to happen. Until all restrictions on crowd size are lifted in mid june, any hint of rain ahead and a meeting will be off...unless a designated TV meeting. Why would any promoter run a meeting now with reduced crowds when he has a chance to put the meeting on in July/August with a full crowd in attendance...obviously they cant cancel every single meeting as there will be no time to fit in all the matches but I expect all clubs to have a a couple of rains offs prior to June 21st , makes financial sense. Also many will do it as early as they can for Monday meetings to save their riders the expense of flying over from Poland.

I always found that at Coventry most fan interaction happened when riders went into the pits as they had to go along a stretch of the greyhound track. You'd see a lot of hand-slapping going on there between riders and fans and I was always a bit envious of that little stretch into the pits at Coventry.

Yes I agree with the first point. Home riders especially should be told to do a lap. Preferably without some boke waffling along constantly on the PA: yes we can see what's happening thanks! On the second point, if my memory serves me right, the late Craig Hodgson won his first race at the EoES during Rogers' tenure and Rogers stood at the pits gate (or rushed out) and indicated that Craig wasn't coming in to the pits and to jog on for an extra lap

To be fair, your first post on this specifically blames the Redcar promotion..

Time has moved on and it was merely an observation but unvalidated as I am not at the meeting and without attendance figures being published, who knows. It still comes down to being short changed and the point of the comment was to possibly highlight a reason why some feel that the clubs are taking the p.. and that is understandable. Frankly those in charge have learnt nothing over the past year or so and take every paying punter for granted. SS makes a valid point re streaming and many would watch and the Glasgow meeting is a fine example. Many will pay to watch conveniently but will not drive miles to a track but the sport has in many areas failed to keep abreast of the times. The sport will fall on its sword if it does no wake up to the technology.

Tell you what seeing Jake Allen banging in points for Ipswich tonight is making me so frustrated he won’t be lining up for us we are gonna miss his points big time!

I would bet if they all got a £10,000 per match fine for running with guests, or an equal fine for putting out a weakend team due to missing riders, then they would "find a way" to run every meeting without guests and with teams of a sufficient standard.. Either through a common sense approach to fixture planning, a fit for purpose rider replacement facility, or even have less team places up for grabs so it creates surplus across the two top leagues to replace injured or underperforming riders.. Let's face it, it is just "easier" to use guests isnt it? And that is why daft fixture clashes will not even be seen an issue.. And also why a truly exciting sport will never reach its wider potential in this country, as, sadly it cant be taken seriously..

I’m clearly not “most people” then and, by your definition, I suspect most people on here are not “most people”. I’ve heard of a VPN, but would have to look up Smart DND or Streamlocater. I assume they are all available at a cost.

What is NDL standard! .You could say there are a number of riders not up the NDL standard if there was one.It’s a Development league.
