  1. Quite an achievement for Plymouth to reach the playoffs with 2 matches to spare. 6th place would be preferred finish for easiest quarter final, Edinburgh would be alot tougher especially if sam masters is fit. On the other hand it would be nice to stop Redcar making the playoffs just to p*** Bellers101 off.

  3. Definitely missed a trick.. But. You never know.. The Poles will no doubt evaluate the pros and cons and decide whether to continue with the format, or possibly anend it.. What they wont do is continue ad Infinitum with an operating model that hemorrhages fans year on year, fails to attract major sponsors, and ensures hardly any media coverage is forthcoming... Unlike some...

  8. Wonder how many Poole assets have been told not to ride for other clubs. As for replacement for Kennett, Gary May has reportedly tried over a dozen and at least one wasn't allowed by BSPL. Usual arrogant twaddle from a Poole know all.

  11. Not the worst meeting you are likely to see but Scunthorpe were always on the back foot with turning up without a genuine No1 capable of winning races. The others did their best but were never in any danger of getting any points.

  12. On the subject of Aces leadership it was really really hard not to like this guy even though probably wanted to lol. Said what he thought, to everyone. I remember winning 2 free tickets after answering questions about the aces. I was 19 and went to the office to claim my prize and JP looked at me with my stupid long hair at the time and said how the f…… did you know the answers to those questions???? I said because John I f…….. know my club. He laughed his head off and said good fella and gave me the tickets

  19. I like the suggestion of a rider who may live in Scotland, and then wonder why he hasn't been asked to sign.

  20. I’m constantly staggered that people post names of riders on here as suitable potential signings, thinking Garry and Mark are going to be sat at home kicking themselves for not having thought of them….

  21. I can tell you for sure Garry May has tried numerous riders but they don't want to come over

  22. Thanks for that. I was trying to remember Fridays times. So sticking the full GP riders on a 2valve Jawa would mean they would be going a bit slower, probably require more skill to pass, cost would be thousands of £’s less to riders/promotors.

  23. Fine seasons for Barker, Bowtell and Gilkes until circumstances intervened. Morley exceeding expectations when called upon. Hans not always banging in the big points but playing a unifying captains role throughout. Injury plagued season for MPT that’s prevented him getting in his stride. A tantalising glimpse of what he could offer before being sent into the fence at Wimborne road. But obviously only the guests that have got us to the playoffs eh!! Still hopefully a chance that Eddie’s available before the end of the now extended season. Those of us that have seen him dominate around the Coliseum know what he’s capable of and that on that form few guests would have matched him.. Doubters will doubt and I guess we’ll never know how it could have played out. The deserter being the only proven error in judgement of the starting seven. So, onto the playoffs! Still the un-fancied underdogs. Let’s go and ruffle the plumage of the leagues elite.

  24. That kind of logic seems to be beyond some fans. Despite fact Leicester beat Poole home and away apparently Leicester won't "touch them with a barge pole" for no other reason than they're Poole. Leicester may take Edinburgh as did same against them and save on their gaffers travelling expenses

  25. Kennett would have been replaced by now if he hadn't got injured, they have done well to get away with guests all season, must be a very cost effective way of running the team.

  27. If all the riders stayed fit then Eddie would probably have finished as a 2nd string!! BTW Happy Birthday today Eddie. Hope you get loads of greetings from all your Glad fans. Maybe you could declare yourself fit again and return for Tuesday so that Redcar get the 4 points that would ensure Plymouth finish 6th!!!

  32. A week ago, I made the observation that Lambert could qualify on merit for next year's series, only being 8 points off 6th. Now, he is just 2 points out, and another performance or two like yesterday, and he's in!

  36. Douglas has been in Poland since Friday morning. Between riding electric scooters through the streets on Friday afternoon to going to the GP today. Do I think he was injured enough to not ride probably not. Will he ride in Poland tomorrow probably yes. happens all to often these days unfortunately.

  38. As all three Ekstraliga matches will be at the same time, as Racers and Royals said, Kergel's ucoz link will be the place to find them all. The VK links we will have to wait and see, but they obviously will likely only focus on one of the 3 meetings. Once they come live, I'll add them.

  39. We quite often see riders disqualified following a crash when nobody is really at fault but the rules say somebody has to go. Maybe an alternative would be to start the rider/s at fault from a penalty line as they do in flat track. Would keep 4 riders in the race and make for more entertainment than a 3 rider race. Could even go the whole flat track route where from the second lap on any crash sees the riders line up slightly staggered in the order they were when the race was stopped and the culprit 30 yards past the back rider.

  40. Only options I would think now are riders who aren't in polish play offs looking for a few extra quid before winter. Tungate and klindt be the obvious examples but as mentioned I'd be very shocked if your promotion hadn't looked into that already.

  41. I don’t think so. The shortlist has been reduced to six in recent years, which I’d say provides a challenge to minority sports. I would also suggest at least one person on the shortlist will (rightly) be a woman (although they are sadly still often overlooked for this award - it’s still dominated by men’s sport unless something exceptional happens), and I’d be surprised if there isn’t someone from para sport. Assuming they are taken by different people (and given the women’s football team are almost certain to be represented there, I think it’s a reasonable assumption), that suggests only four spots left. Jonathan Rea only made the shortlist once during his spell of domination on World Superbikes. Jamie Chadwick has dominated W Series this year, and I think she’d be more likely to make the shortlist than Dan Bewley on account of this being her third year winning the title. If Dan wins the last three rounds and takes the title, different story, but that’s a tall order. Short of it is, I think you either need to be the current champion in your sport, or a very average England men’s footballer (I’m not going to try to justify Raheem Sterling making the list in previous years) to make the shortlist. I’d like to see the BBC return to a shortlist of ten and give minority sports a bigger profile, but no idea if that will happen. Maybe we just need to get Phil Lanning on the shortlisting panel…

  45. Also people winge about hold ups and meetings taking forever to finish - surely this idea of staggered restarts would see meetings finish in the early hours next day. But speedway does need a shake up in some way.

  46. Very weak Scunny side, but fair play to Lambert,Wright and Mountain they were busting gut in every ride and provided the entertainment.Though Jonus had his best home match(said he wasn’t 100% due to crash earlier in the week. The farce of the though ,Lawson helping Scunny getting a point last night then scoring max tonight against them. But Hey that’s speedway.

  48. Bit frustrating that Harris, flint and potentially Brennan (not one to refuse a guest booking) could've been in this meeting but are in a pointless European pairs event getting spanked off the top nations second strings. Why when no Ellis take a another Berwick rider as well. Take howarth or worrall seen as Leicester no meeting!!

  49. Trouble is if you let the dirt go wide too early in the meeting you end up with one line right round the boards later on in the meeting which isn't good for the racing. Grading is a nuisance but sometimes it's required to keep the track good for 15 heats.
