Yup…..who needs three competitions? League with 2 home 2 away plus the KO cup would be my answer.7 points

I believe that UK Speedway has 1000% secured February 29th as a priority day for the next 20 years.. Poland were fuming....5 points

A fair, sensible pricing structure.. Hopefully will be attending late in the year.. Best of luck to the Comets..4 points

The best stadium in London is the Tottenham Hotspur stadium but the area is far from the best but you can see they are starting to do parts of it up. Probaly would actually be the easiest to convert to a speedway track aswell due to it having two pitches so no damage to the football pitch. 50,000 fans would be a pretty much sell out but I don’t see a speedway meeting get those sort of numbers these days. Wembley is a fantasy and too big for speedway now and I believe the London Stadium has seating removed when it’s converted for athletics so would need the same for speedway. I just cannot see how economical a speedway gp would work in a big London stadium.4 points

It riles me up on Facebook with all the happy clappers saying they are tired of all the moaning..I'm sick of the radio silence and to make it worse it's the same at Lynn...there's a common denominator here..4 points

I hope those dreadful Welsh men were not using such language. Awful primitive people. You deserve the mocking, your really do. The sentiments are almost stereotypically SO pearl-clutching middle England it's untrue. It's exactly why Celts and many others ridicule us English. At times, it's utterly deserved.3 points

Phil the Ace - OK they got lucky….. the “forecast” was correct! It’s not always the case when you call off the day before, and that is my point.3 points

Saturday 13th was going to be sidecar speedway but the sidecar people were told the date was then unavailable because of a speedway meeting but a few days later they were told this date was available after all. So now it was back to sidecar racing but this event was cancelled yesterday due to lack of entries. I think the stadium will be empty now Saturday and its going to be a sit at home and watch the Grand Prix Saturday for the rest of us.3 points

“Friday night is Speedway night” used to be the saying……..and it was consistently Friday night weekly for most of the season. I think that is where much of the problem lies in attracting higher crowd levels. All this chopping and changing and having large gaps throughout the calendar does the sport no favours and folk can’t get into a routine. I realise the financial implications of the present day for some who may not be able to afford weekly meetings but I think more consistency would help the situation.3 points

I've run out of likes again! 100% agree and its the continued deliberate misleading reasoning that is most disappointing The trouble with lies , half truths and fairytales is that when the truth is provided it is difficult to accept it can be2 points

Fancy the Panthers to pull off a win. Cup competitions are unpredictable and league form goes out of the window.2 points

Surely just four - two in your section, one semi final and one final. Interesting that Edinburgh and Berwick two of the club's running NDL sides are out of the BSN and KO Cup competitions already and Oxford are out of the BSN too. The NDL tail is wagging the Championship dog. Has to be changed for next year.2 points

The groundsman at Tottenham is a big (probably huge) speedway fan. He checked in the early stages of the development whether the pitch could be lifted and base accommodate a speedway track. Sadly not, I believe owing to the structure of the base beneath the pitch, but we do have people in high places on our side. Similarly London Stadium/West Ham ownership gave a favourable response to initial enquiries. With the baseball and athletics contracts though I am unsure how speedway could be fitted in at this stage during the football close season. Never say never. When AFC Wimbledon asked for ideas for other uses of the stadium I don't think I was alone in suggesting speedway but never received a response. With complaints that other stadia could be too large this could be too small to justify expend though. I find the main problem with going to the London Stadium is that, when you go to a pub afterwards and they hear an English accent they immediately start talking Cockney and singing "Knees up Mavver Brarn" Being bananaphobic their offer to "'ave a banana" is quite insulting too.2 points

Oh what a hero..and I applaud you for that (I honestly do)..but wtf has that got to do with Panthers demise!?...if you must know I went Carp fishing and then watched Monday night football...this is a speedway forum btw so people are allowed to have opinions on speedway things that are going on at their club and this includes concerning things such as the predicament we are in now..but hey at least Posh made the play offs so it's not all doom and gloom in Peterborough!2 points

It could be that the "happy clappers" are able to take a more balanced view of life in general rather than acting like petulant children !! My wife and myself are this afternoon again taking part in a screening programme for research in relation to early detection of various forms of cancer (in the sincere hope that this will benefit others in the long run) ................. what are you doing ?? (apart from stamping your feet demanding to know what's happening at Peterborough Speedway?) and NO, I'm NOT seeking praise but merely trying to put things into perspective..........2 points

Probably a reason why some of the Scorpion supporters didn't travel this year as they have done in the past.2 points

I can't see it... Wembley is not what it used to be and i doubt it has the same allure as it once had, gone are the days of it being a special place that was revered around the world, every country has their own "Wembley" these days. We'll never know but I suspect they'd get 50,000 tops. Now 50,000 in the London Stadium would be quite impressive, in a better area and easier to get to... though I can't see that either2 points

This crazy fixture list will kill off the Sport.Whoever voted to change to 1 Home 1 Away has lot to answer for .IMO2 points

Pearson would be doing even better in a good side. Hes clearly got a lot better from last season so should be stuck with. Nielsen is a crazy signing , never seen much in him and spends more time sat on his arse than Jim Royle. Proctor was worth a gamble , sadly it hasnt paid off. Shame as i really liked him back in the day , he was a class rider. But probably the right thing to drop him. morris is a class act but with him on a 10 pt ave, any meeting he struggles in and theres no chance of a Brum win. Its an awfully built side.2 points

How long will it be before the Panthers management use reaching the semi finals of the KOC as a positive for the season !!!!2 points

I have been somewhat sceptical of the pre emptive call offs, however I think they have all turned out to be the correct call, and if it saved Peterborough having to pay rent for the EoES then I can clearly see why they took that decision. Weather forecasting despite the 'mick taking' does seem pretty accurate these days2 points

Me to so the younger lads get to compete against there piers . Sport really missed a trick in 21 after Covid should have made huge changes for the future but sadly didn't. Never mind though we can always get a 27 year old Aussie in the NDL on a 3 point average and support it2 points

Ok, take the p155! But I can only speak as I found. Also, when you leave the stadium, you have to walk through the town centre! So, for me, poke Cardiff where the sun don't shine! Should your nickname be 'Fatface' or 'Fat ****'!2 points

Well done, but you didn't need to bring it up on this thread unless you wanted attention. I have done many things to help people, as have many other forum members, but haven't felt the need to mention it on a speedway forum.1 point
-
Its a combination of both. Neither soley sponsors or soley attendence is enough. Sponsorship isnt always money either, some provides tractors for track grading, one provides a free bus ride from the central city to the track. I would guess a team like Smederna need around 2000-2500 on average for paying attendence on top of sponsors. That is why Rospiggarna is in a dire situation. Their track is so abysmal that nobody want to go there to watch speedway. The bends are almost hard as concrete/asphalt.1 point

That's OK then - the speedway and it's owners are not to blame The fault lay with the stock cars and those owners not being able to repair the damage they caused I wonder who they are and how the speedway can hold them to account......1 point

Ellis and Vissing ride in Denmark on Weds I think so depends whether they are doing that. Really don't want Charles Wright to have any practice with BSN SF coming up! Musielak would be a good one as no other time would we see him at Poole, so could put more fans through the gate.1 point

We see this so often from Doyley at Foxhall now that when he misses the gate you just expect it to happen! An old cliche, but he really is worth the admission on his own.1 point

...oh the days of just handing over cash (although there are at least two cafe vendors on the sea front of Bridlington who only accept cash) Yes I guess it's something we now have to live with. When our local Arboretum only allowed visitors who had booked in advance to visit during one of the less serious "lockdowns" I was then to be charged 50p on top booking fee. I decided not to book in principle especially as one can not always rely upon the weather.1 point

The current track is gone, and now replaced by a concrete/asphalt surface. This will be used as a skeeler track, or speed-skating in the winter (if it freezes lol). Latest update: https://www.twedo.nl/update-33-renovatie-sportpark1 point

For a single rider change, the new rider’s average could of course exceed that of the replaced rider should the team be under the points limit.1 point

Preben Eriksen was always a hard rider, never really the star in the Danish set up but played his part as an enforcer & gave more favored opponents a rough ride. Jan Steachmann always had imaculate kit always reliable on & off the track I remember him from Long Eaton & Stoke mainly. But since his retirement from racing his input into the young Danish riders as Manager has been remarkable.1 point

Every time there is a rain-off or a threatened rain-off, the subject of track covers comes up. Yes, using track covers can save a meeting sometimes, but unfortunately, people just won't come out when the weather is doubtful, so would it be worthwhile spending time and money laying covers and saving a threatened meeting, if the turnout was going to be poor?1 point

Really hard to put into a words ANOTHER speedway club to go. I just feel the BSPA won't even care though, I think they would run a 5 team premiership I just think they would! It's ridiculous. One league is the way it's going to go or a northern league/ southern league. The only way to make a club run now is build a track in the middle of nowhere not near a city or housing and have low running costs. So basically bog standard facilities. Where does this end? Honestly who's next? Panthers, monarchs, wolves, Birmingham, mildenhall could all go next season..what a absolute mess. Not to mention the ones we lost before this season like Swindon, Coventry etc.1 point
