Regardless who isn't doing what we hoped they would , watching Bomber every home meeting , especially when he misses the gate , is why we love speedway . That meeting was in danger of getting away from us last night as mid meeting Berwick looked the stronger side , but our captain , with some incredible overtaking , inspired us to the win .6 points

Parnicki is a hell of a prospect. Very exciting at such a young age. He should have no issue getting sponsors going forward after this season. Fair play to him.5 points

No disrespect to Harris or Scotty both absolute icons of the sport in this country. However, I’d rather gamble on the best rider in the world coming in even if he doesn’t perform as well round foxhall as perhaps scotty would. We need to keep attracting new riders over to Britain and I would argue the same two riders guesting in almost every meeting for various teams throughout the season is an example of wrong with the sport over here currently. Need a bigger talent pool and bringing the top boys back here is only a good thing.4 points

Scores at home 7,6,7,12,2,6,8,11 Away 4,9,0 (withdrew injured),11,5,11,8,3,5 Signed on a 5.19. Only got less than 5 in 4 meetings, one where he crashed and withdrew failing to finish a race. But no actual Berwick fan is calling for Drew Kemp to be dropped.4 points

Inside gate , racing line , front wheels ahead of the rest, turns his bike and it’s all 4 back. Boy rides with balls. Nobody yelled and booed yer skipper when he nearly fenced him on bend 2 . Rose tinted glasses me thinks.4 points

Toruń were awful today and it wasn’t like they were out gated either, leszno worked hard for that win3 points

The Starting Marshal should bring them nearer the Tapes.Take leaf out of Polish Speedway virtually no rolling and much more tighter control riders bike position and nearer tapes. Riders ignore the Starting Marshal over here and ge away with it too much.3 points

That’s the biggest mistake they made with this years team building Blodorn instead of Brennan, but it’s easy with hindsight isn’t it.3 points

Can’t understand the hate for Dickson tonight on the meeting thread and on this one. Hagon was going better than Jye at that point of the meeting and was mixing it and I fancied he could’ve have beaten Worrall if Bomber hadn’t tried to send him in to the back straight fence on the second lap. Garrad had to take another ride as it seems to me his 2 minutes exclusion in Heat 8 doesn’t count so therefore had to take heat 14 at that point, Kemp then as seems to be the case, went missing in a big race leaving us the unlikely task of overhauling Bomber in Heat 15. Kemp and Kerr both made it too easy for Bomber to pass them in earlier races, I know he is almost impossible to stop when he’s charging but maybe don’t leave him the width of a bus to come round the outside of you on the last bend. Too many what ifs and maybes but I’ve seen a lot of people pinning the loss on the TM which baffles me when out of the 4 “Bandits” in the team only one really showed up, if it wasn’t for a couple of good guest bookings which I’ve no doubt Stewart had a massive part in sorting, we’d have been a mile off against a fairly underwhelming Glasgow side. Regardless of all that, the season is well and truly over and all we can do now is make a couple of changes and see how some riders stack up for next season.3 points

Some idiotic Glasgow fans booing Drew Kemp after heat 15. No wonder nobody likes you2 points

A bit like it use to be and who cares. Watch Mauger, Briggs and many others. Not some sanitised version of the sport you have today. It makes for entrainment and nothing else. Well done Scott for rolling back the years, long may it continue. If you want clean cut racing don’t watch speedway.2 points

At 17 I reckon that Parnickyi the Ukrainian lad riding in the top league in the World is outstanding, had some good battles with Emil, looks very much an SGP rider of the future unless something derails his progress. Rode well last week as well in the SGP2. Very entertaining meeting.2 points

I read that Kolodziej has lent the Ukrainian his equipment and pit crew. Fair to say it's working out like a treat at the moment.2 points

Ben Cook showing very strong form in Poland... (Where it counts)2 points

Mitch Cluff was the lad on JP's bike. They are team mates in Poland. He loved Ashfield , said its so much fun to ride and the banking is brilliant.2 points

Happiest man in Ashfield last night had to be " the Grand Monarch " . He will have been in his element dishing out all those exclusions in heat 82 points

Personally, I didn’t think Hagon did anything wrong and the correct decision was made. He was holding a tight line and I felt Pijper leant heavily on to him. Just my opinion……2 points
-
At least he tried something, don’t think it made any difference to end result. When you have a No5 who needs replaced in Ht13 you are in trouble anyway.2 points

Because Dickson got it terribly wrong. If there was a chance Hagon would have scored in 13, then surely that translates to an almost certain win in heat 14? If riders underperformed, then they rightly can be called on it too. Doesn't mean the TM gets a free pass on bad decisions. The only defence Dickson can have is he thought ht 8 counted as a ride for Garrad & at the last minute was told he needed a 3rd ride, so had rode in ht 14, otherwise he should have been in ht 13. Dickson certainly didn't cause the loss, that was the riders. But it could have been closer for the bonus point with more shrewd team managing.2 points

Not if Osbourne offered to fund the building development in partnership with a property company eg Taylor Wimpey or similar?! The Council cant afford to fund new buildings themselves. Having said that, if/when the time comes there will be a helluva fan protest.........!2 points

And now Basso, is a 9.86 to set foot in the championship thanks to the extremely ill thought x1.5 rule . Worrall is gate and gone, you saw that tonight, but if he isn't away from the gates you can guarantee he isn't going to pass. With all the "replace this rider replace that rider" I just don't see letting Worrall go benefits us at all.2 points

Heat 15 was a real classic.... Good scores for Trigger, Mulford and Danny King who again impressed me tonight. Meeting was a tough watch. Riders were bucking and rearing throughout. However positively it was a pleasure to watch Sam Masters and the seemingly immortal Scott Nicholls. Best top two in the league imho.1 point

I would have to go through the fixtures to look, but I can remember a few double figure scores. Logically if his average has risen then for every poor match he's had, he must of had a good match to, otherwise his average would have dropped. Don't forget Kemp got his 5.5 average at reserve last year, this year he's upped that (slightly) in the top 5. I'm sure Kemp will no doubt want to kick on further, but I see no reason for anyone to be unhappy with his form so far.1 point

From what I have read about Briggs’s early says, and from the man himself on the DVD, it seems to me more of a case off sending someone out to pick up fallen riders that the young Briggo had knocked off !1 point

scotty rolled on most starts last night super heat was a tiny roll but he did roll massive roll in possibly ht 11 and let go id love to have heard the heated debate after meeting to be fair to roynon he looked to improve a lot in his last race but he will never be the rider he was years ago nothing better than watching roynon in his day1 point

Think whoever was in heat 13 , whether it was Etheridge, Hagon or Garrad , there was a good chance they weren't going to beat Harris and Worrall . Hagon would have been more effective in heat 14 .1 point
-
It’s not just that he isn’t going to pass that’s annoying …….he doesn’t even make up any ground when behind. Yet, when he’s in front, he can stretch out a lead. Frustrating to watch but as said, can bang in important points.1 point

As a nation, we are not good at things that require clarity and conciseness. We like to think we are, but we are hopelessly wrong. It’s not a speedway thing, it’s a cultural feature.1 point
-
Hagon was much more likely to win ht 14 than ht 13, so Garrad should've taken his 3rd ride in place of Etheridge, leaving Hagon in 14.1 point

Can’t believe I forgot he already has a Prem spot. Thanks Phil! (Decent bottle of wine this though!).1 point

Managed to fight off tough competition at the beginning of the year to keep Etheridge, I heard.1 point

Horrendous refereeing in the Super Heat, spoiled a good meeting. Feel for Nicholls, can understand Schroeks anger, referee should be embarrassed.1 point

Hagon had beat Jye and Flint in Ht 9 though.Dont really see why replacing Jye in Ht13 is an issue Hagon was riding well.1 point

They didn't have the big temporary stand in 2021, if the prices this year are to pay for that it seems an almost suicidal commercial decision.1 point

I went to Grudziadz earlier this season and it was a sell out so I wouldn't buy on the day.1 point

Eh? He was a SPEEDWAY rider. Committed s crime and was released on license. Was back riding SPEEDWAY at Scunthorpe in amateur meetings. How is that not relevant to a SPEEDWAY discussion?1 point

If Scunthorpe put a similar side out to what they are at Edinburgh on Friday night. All Workington's riders will up their averages.1 point

I really enjoyed reading your post Norbold. I felt the same about Mauger and like you only saw Fundin and Moore late in their careers. More at Wimbledon and was at Wembley when Fundin won his fifth title. Briggs was often unbeatable ( unless racing against Stan Stevens). Like you I would often go to meetings 3 times a week, even travelling to Glasgow and Edinburgh to cheer on the Hammers.1 point
