  1. Tate has released the following statement from his hospital bed:- Tate Zischke 1h · Hello everyone just want to jump on and thank everyone for all the messages and hospital visits this means a lot I haven't been able to get back to everyone but thanks everyone. It's going to be a long bumpy road to recovery I will spend the coming weeks in hospital fighting to get better each day. It has been a rough few days so far but we will keep flighting. So far I can let you all know I have fractured 7 vertebrae and 5 ribs and have a nasty entry and exit hole in my left bum cheek where I was penetrated by my bike when I followed by bike into the fence. I have so far had 1 surgery on my ass cheek and have been told I will need a couple more in the coming days. I want to let everyone know this crash was 100% a racing incident and nobody is at fault. I will keep everyone updated on what is happening next Good to read that he doesn't blame Keynan Rew in any way for the accident. Wish him well.

  2. Message to racegoers from the Belle Vue Charitable Trust For those racegoers unaware, Belle Vue has a Trust which was set up to support our riders and other charitable initiatives, supporting those in need of help. For those who contribute regularly to the 50:50 draw and Chase's White Line Challenge, those proceeds go into the trust to raise funds for these causes. Following Tate's crash on Monday, the Trust has got to action and kindly agreed to pay for Tate's Mum's flight to the UK from Australia so she can be with him as he enters his next stage of recovery. The trust has also been liaising with the team at the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund who will support with expenses whilst here in the UK and we're sure the other crowd funding / fundraising initiatives will help him get back on his feet, replace damaged equipment and cover expenses in the months to come. All of this would not be possible without the tremendous support we receive week in week out from the supporters of Belle Vue Speedway and the unfailing efforts of David Burroughs and his Belle Vue Speedway Supporters Club (BVSSC) team. And not forgetting, the great support shown at tracks across the country for Benevolent Fund track collections. A huge thank you to you all and a huge personal thank you. Philip Gunning, Chair of Trustees.

  4. What about all the previous swallows? (see below) It hasn't. Kye's 'average counting' scores so far this season: BSN Series Berwick (A) 4+1 (4) Berwick (H) 10 (4) Glasgow (A) 7+1 (4) Glasgow (H) 7+3 (4) Championship Plymouth (H) 14+3 (7) Workington (A) 4+1 (5) Oxford (A) 8 (4) Oxford (H) 5+1 (4) Redcar (A) 3+1 (4) Scunny (H) 9+1 (4) Scunny (A) 4+1 (4) Plymouth (A) 0 (4) Poole (A) 8+1 (4) Yes, granted, he's hot and cold but he is a 6.50ish rider. What are you expecting? Double figures every week? Monarchs' averages this season are slightly skewed in that the H / A split is currently 5H and 8A. That, generally, keeps a rider's stats lower and highlights the negative. Kye has achieved above his average at home in all meetings bar Oxford. Away, he's reached the 6.50 'target' on 3 occasions - Glasgow, Oxford and Poole. He's also the bonus point king within the team. His '2024 meetings only' average is a full point lower than the 'including bonus' figure. Indeed, his 14 bonus points are only matched / bettered in the Championship by Jake Mulford, Luke Harrison, Craig Cook (all 14), Kyle Howarth (15), Sam Masters (16) and Jacob Hook (19). All hail those looking after job security... As I said, yes, he's hot and cold. But he's not the biggest problem in the side. Good luck to Kye for the rest of the season.

  7. Have to question Oxford's team manager (again). Putting Riss in heat 15, means he's one of the top two Oxford riders. So as he's at reserve, why not give him an extra ride before heat 15?

  11. Belle Vue Speedway Trust Announcement. Following the events of Monday evening, the Trust has been in discussion with the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund and has agreed to provide Tate's mother with the air fare to travel to the UK, from Australia, to be with her son. The Trust will also contribute to any additional welfare that is required during her stay, over and above that which the SRBF will provide. Whilst it is too early to be precise, the Trust intends to provide further assistance to Tate during his period of rehabilitation, be it in the UK, or back in Australia. All this would not be possible without the tremendous support we receive week in week out from the Supporters of Belle Vue and the unfailing efforts of David Burroughs and his team from the BVSSC. A huge thank you to you all. Philip Gunning Chair of Trustees. The trust money comes from fans doing 50/50 draws, interval ball game etc.

  12. I like Max - but lets keep it real - Sam Hagon won the race he replaced Max in achieving a 3-3 - a 1-5 or even a 2-4 at that stage could have changed the outcome. Poole are a professional sports team - its business and its right to take care of it regardless of emotions

  15. Hi There were RUMOURS a few days ago that they might call this meeting off, due to the England match being on the same day at 5pm. We have tapes up normally at 3pm. There is no sign yet, on any Comets media site that its going to be cancelled or an earlier start time, so I presume it will just be the normal 3pm start. Current Met Office Forecast is 60% chance of a heavy shower, but Sunny Spells all afternoon too.

  24. And yet after making progress they still replaced him in heat eight. He would have been off of gate one, where I think he would have had a good chance of beating Connor Coles. He had already beat his opposite number in heat two..Hagon was a bit up and down to be fair. So it would have been nice to see Max get his full programmed rides.

  26. They also have a consistent core to their team, with riders generally returning year to year with only the odd change. Must help the fans to create a bond with the team instead of a rag tag random 1 to 7 turning up week to week, season to season

  27. Poole have a winning team and the crowd turns up... They don't have a winning team and they stop going in the same numbers... The racing standard doesn't seem to be so much of a factor as to crowd size, unlike at many other tracks....

  28. I have said many times... Literally tens of millions of pounds will be, and have been, spent in the top two divisions in particular, on riders who clearly haven't grown the sport in the past two decades by their presence... Yet, a pittance on marketing, which may have delivered better results... And also there has been a complete reluctance to "try something new" when "same old, same old" clearly wasn't (and still isn't) working... The (previous) NDL seemed to be the most successful and best ran league by a considerable distance... Maybe someone should reflect on why that was....

  29. Not all Edinburgh fans hate Kye, there is only a small minority that post on here Hats off to wee Sedgy tonight, great effort - and Picko will be back, very uncharacteristic meeting for him
    2 points
  30. But on the flip side if wasn't a trappers paradise would sedgy have got 14? Always frustrating to see your no.1 score so poorly but never just as easy as saying if he'd scored 10 you'd have won 50-40. But if picko and Ben cook can't pass on a track you know it's bad

  34. As deep as the polish pond is for talent non apart from zmarzlik are hitting any sort of form, kubera has been ok but not spectacular, dudek has been poor by his standards, janowski also has been poor this season, as for pawlicki obviously dobrucki didn’t see pawlicki at number 7 for bham a month ago at belle vue, he was shocking for a rider of his ability and at reserve too , Aussies look strong but horses for courses I would of gone for lidsey and Kurtz with holder at reserve, any other track I wouldn’t of even considered Kurtz and lidsey but around belle vue the are top quality, GB are in with a real shout with lambert, bewley and Brennan, outsiders Germany

  35. Buster will now unfortunately be remembered by most Peterborough fans as the promoter who appears to of let the club die , not as one of the promoter's that achieved the ultimate prize of a league winning team at Peterborough. He could of been far more understanding and respectfull towards the fans at Peterborough some of which that have followed the club for the full 53 continuous years of the clubs existance when making his announcement over the tannoy, but being understanding and respectfull at times is not a known strength of Buster, that many will agree on, he deserves some criticism for the way he came across with the announcement, but ultimately even if he had been more up for the fight the club would of still been trackless for 2024 From the beginning of the 2023 season I for one wanted to see Michael Tomalin as the owner of the Panthers purely as he would of been more up for the fight to keep the Panthers on track and had Peterborough Panthers at heart, it didnt happen for whatever reason(s) most it seems will never know, but you cannot blame him for not buying or pulling out of something that ultimately it seems was not going to be running after the 2023 season . The club now cannot expect to be viable as a stand alone sporting facility in the stadium but hopefully the consortium will have ideas and plans in the locker to increase the stadiums use and revenue past just a speedway team IF a return was to be forthcoming , but theres a big fight to be overcome first before any thoughts of a homecoming that could be years down the line, Buster will i have no doubt sell the licence to the consortium IF the Panthers return to race on a track somewhere in the future . As for houses around a noisey sporting facility its possible for both to exist you only have to look at football grounds including the Tottenham Hotspur Stadum and even the NSS in Manchester has houses in close proximity. It also now very clear that Buster can just let the Stock Cars run more meetings at the AFA without the speedway team and any hassle to him, so unfortunately its very possible the team at Lynn may stop running unless another new promotion runs the speedway there, which has to be a real worry for the Lynn fans now and with not a house in sight of the AFA.

  40. Why on earth haven’t you made everyone aware of Laguta’s availability and keenness to ride in the UK before now? If you hadn’t been keeping this under your hat he would have been snapped up long ago. You appear to be a big fan of his and perhaps ought to have done a bit more to raise his profile and the speedway world’s awareness of his availability. The first thing for British teams to check of course is his average which will be important when looking at guest options after he has completed a few laps and decided that having to constantly turn left in cold weather is not for him.
    1 point
  41. Some people only focus on his bad meetings, but he still has a near 6.5 average for the season. So if he's had lots of poor meetings, logically he much have had lots of good meetings, otherwise he'd have a far lower average. He's not stepped up like he & Edinburgh would have hoped & yes he's had poor meetings, but I don't understand all the criticism he's received.

  42. On paper should be fine. But remember there's lots of Friday tracks, in the later rounds of the KOC & BSN some will be knocked out, but in the league, they'll either have to race on off nights, or take it in turns to have a home match one Friday & the away match the following. With the amount of postponements & many clubs apparent lack of assistance re-arranging fixtures, I can see the season going into late October / November again. In a perfect world should be no issue, but with weather, matches now called off for forecasts even when it doesn't rain, fixed race nights, foreign fixtures etc won't be as easy as 10 years ago to hold so many meetings. Finally don't forget, without the NL, where will the future Championship riders come from. The more foreigners in teams, the harder to arrange fixtures. Glasgow apparently avoided Vissing due to Danish clashes.

  43. Of course it all sounds logical but that doesn't mean that you have to give up and accept it. It's a weak one sided argument from Butterfield who's obviously feeling the heat as friends and family plead for the planning process to be speeded up and the EEAS whine that they need the money. If AEPG can't navigate their way out of their local plan and NPPF responsibilities then they are going to have to find new land (on or off site) and dip their hands in their pockets to pay for it. Or as the BSPA say, it shouldn't even get that far? The Save Peterborough Speedway consortium may stand alone but it doesn't take much to hang this planning process up. AEPG know that and the last thing that they need is more delay and timetable slippage!
