Yes definitely but that is one aspect f this sport that needs to seriously change as it continually annoys the core supporters, and having other websites providing information and results etc doesn’t absolve the clubs from doing it themselves. If the sport wants to improve its image it seriously needs to improve its information and integrity. Belle Vue would have known Kurtz wasn’t riding at Sheffield at the latest after they rode the first leg midday and probably much earlier, it’s deceiving the supporters and it’s about time this practice was ended. I did the PR and website news for a few years and posting results, basic news and scores takes minutes, finding out Kurtz wasn’t riding when they arrived at Sheffield is an absolute disgrace for supporters who have taken the time to travel and support their team.5 points

The irony of complaining about the 'tedious trolling' of the Aces, but in the same post having yet another dig at the Sheffield track despite it being completely irrelevant to the rest of your post !!4 points

Sterling effort from Brady to ride at Belle Vue yesterday. The Captain gave it his all, despite being in pain. So very easy for keyboard warriors to knock him. For his efforts, he was "rewarded" with a trip to hospital. And some clowns want him banned for trying his hardest to ride for his team - just amazing!4 points

It has to be said the PR from a lot of clubs in all divisions is absolutely crap, I read on here early doors that Kurtz wasn’t riding at Sheffield and checked with the Belle Vue website which didn’t have anything about Kurtz or the preview for the match at Sheffield, this is complete nonsense and yet again fans are being kept completely in the dark deliberately by the clubs. Belle Vue despite a decent race track has one of the worst reputations for PR, with the match result from last night still not being displayed, scorers and results with a report to follow is the least that can be expected but clearly the people running BV don’t think the same.4 points

I can only assume people have never experienced cracked, broken or damaged ribs! However if they are as suggested them i'd be surprised if he is fit enough to ride for a week or two at least! Of course what would helped is if the Bv management had got their backside into gear and updated people properly after the lunchtimne meeting, it finished about 2pm and they have 5 hrs to get some form of update out.3 points

Maybe Ipswich should have signed Artem Lagua in place of Danny King? Just thought I'd get that in before the usual suspect turns up and gives us the benefit of his particular brand of wisdom. 😄3 points

Exactly, it’s not difficult is it, Dackarna obviously think it’s important to let fans know what’s happening. It’s a shame Lemon doesn’t3 points

Firstly get well soon Brady. It’s great to see a rider not take the pee out of the sport here in the UK like so many others who will complete foreign league meetings then swerve the UK. Brady’s never done that and will always if possible turn out for the UK fans, similar to Doyle. Must be an Aussie thing.3 points

And there was me thinking Liam and Noel were going to announce the date for Cardiff 2025.3 points

Personally I'd rather side on the fact that it was one meeting too many for Kurtz yesterday. It's a very physically demanding sport, and whilst it's frustrating for riders to drop out, I'd much rather them do so than risk themselves coming off much worse.3 points

Dan has remained as RS throughout the season. From 1st August he will return to No 7 Dan's final average for 2024 (assuming the rule remains unchanged) will dictate if he can remain as RS for 2025 (he will meet the age criteria) from SR 011.2.1 Rising Stars The criteria for Premiership Rising Stars is as follows: The age limit for Rising Stars for the 2024 season onwards is 23 years of age on the 1st of January of that year The Rider must have a Premiership League average of 4.00 or below from SR 011.3.1 Premiership League a) the top rider (by MA) must ride at #1 b) the 2nd to 5th riders (by MA) can ride in any position #2-#5. c) the Rising Star rider must ride at #7 unless they achieve an MA which permits them to be in the top 5 then the lowest MA rider must ride at #73 points

That track at Sheffield used to be a great race track, but the air fence as narrowed it off but not slowed it down. They also need to drag the dirt back off the fence, only half of the track is used the racing is rubbish follow the leader all round the fence. Also its a danger for riders out on the fence Emils crash Holders crash and Lindseys crash all caused with riders chasing dirt four feet from the fence. Come on Sheffield sort the track out so all of it can be used3 points

Seems to be a lot of angry people on here. It’s only speedway, not life and death. Riders get injured - some over egg it, others perhaps ride when they shouldn’t, it’s always been the way of the world. Some people like watching fast racing which may compromise the ability to overtake, others like watching technical racing and waiting for an error to make the opportunity to pass, each to their own. Don’t think there is any dispute that racing at Owlerton is not as good as it used to be, think it is down to the engines rather than the track, but there is still some cracking racing. Some meetings are better than others - last night maybe wasn’t brilliant, but BV not making a fight of it until Bewley got his bike working after the battle was lost didn’t help. I for one don’t think meetings ever look as good or as exciting in TV as they do in real life and Sheffield probably suffers from that more than most because you can’t get a feel for the speed which (to me) is part of the sport.2 points

Injury Statement - After a crash in Krosno last weekend I’ve been having a lot of problems with my chest and breathing during matches. It increasingly got worse, come Monday at Belle Vue I was unable to race at the level I or my team would expect. Monday afternoon I went for x-rays and have 2 cracked ribs at the top of my chest. I’ve taken this week off to recover as much as I can and give myself a chance to perform at my best in the play offs for Rybnik this weekend along with Belle Vue and Dackarna in the following weeks.2 points

So due to Kings Lynn's ongoing ineptitude this rearrangement now also denies the British Speedway public the chance to see this year's Cup Final Buster the gift that just keep taking......2 points

It appears you are posting just to get attention, as stated, there aren't any ‘ dangerous ‘ riders. Occasionally a rider makes a mistake , rides too hard or simply gets it wrong, …..thats it!2 points

Brady gave it a go and still gets called, you wonder why riders don't bother when all some do is moan, you think he went to hospital for day trip out lol.2 points

One of the beat & most exciting rider's to ever grace the sport. No shame for Nicki P to feel.2 points

Fair point but to be fair to Kelvin & Oliver Allen they both were clearly under the impression finishing top of the league gave the top team choice of semi final opponents and not for the first time either. I like both Kelvin and Olly but I do think presenters should have a working knowledge of the rules and the very relevant information about the current state of the teams riding.2 points

Because Belle Vue and Lemon are responsible for information coming out about the Aces and meetings, the match report mentions Kurtz getting 8+1 despite struggling with injury. They could have added because he struggled despite given it a go whilst injured he has withdrawn from the second leg tonight at Sheffield and BV will be operating rider replacement. As I said it’s not difficult, I might have missed it but I haven’t read anything on the BV website recently about Kurtz being taken to hospital with suspected broken ribs after crashing in Poland, I am sure I will reminded if I have missed it, it’s certainly not mentioned in the BV match preview with Lemon at pains to stress the importance of the double header. This sort of news is relevant to supporters, it doesn’t have to go into any great detail but it’s interesting that most of the news surrounding riders and teams is found on this forum and not backed up by the official websites.2 points

I didn't think anyone who watches speedway would forget the second leg of the play off final 2010 at Poole where bomber got up off the deck to go out & win the rerun & helped the bees win the title, then the subsequent turmoil it caused during the winter of discontent, a huge turning point for British Speedway IMO & I don't mean for the better.2 points

Nothing silly about it? He was fit enough to complete four rides at bv in the morning but then was suddenly unfit for the evening meeting. If he was so “injured” don’t ride in either meeting… hardly rocket science.2 points

Of all the teams not riding,is Kemp really the only one who wants a guest booking.Teams will be buggered the day Harris hangs up his kevlars.2 points

Fair enough, Arnie & Mr Lion. For what it's worth, Leicester deserve great credit for being one of the dwindling number of clubs who are committed to NDL racing. As we all know, there are quite a few clubs who see themselves as 'big' who can't be bothered to do so.2 points

All these moans about the Ipswich riders and guests, but I would like to mention the contribution of guest Simon Lambert last night. Without his 5 points the evening would have ended a little different.2 points

What are you on about? It's fairly clear that's what's happened, I don't need an official confirmation. If you want more riders sacking off british speedway that's fine, let's just kill off the sport quicker.2 points

To be clear, you can’t have riders deciding which meetings to do. That’s not credible or fair in the slightest. And no, rider replacement or guests isn’t very credible neither. what is ‘riding within himself’ have to do with anything? Riders can get injured at any time and are often riding within themselves because of it. Not a credible reason neither. riders missing meetings IS an issue, that’s the issue! No other country teams would allow you to just miss a meeting to suit and nor should the UK accept it. The silence from official sources is even worse. what is the valid reason why Kurtz was missing on the night? It’s a question that needs answering because he has already done it this season with zero penalty. (Yes we know all the circumstances why before anyone points them all out). We cannot accept that riders can just go missing and it not be an issue. Particularly a meeting that’s live on Eurosport, and one that showed he racing during the day in the same country. Just barmy.2 points

Same as Basso,as I said earlier. He was being advised/told by his Polish team to ride for them when still not being fully fit.Hence why he only done the 4 rides and didn't ride for Lynn.He copped a 28 day ban.All we want is every rider to be treat the same. This doesn't seem to be the case for a few this season at present.Tungate/Pawlicki/Kurtz could all have received a 28 day ban if treat the same.2 points

He is out on track after 4, 7, 11, and 14 every meeting. There are 4 rakers on each bend on track after every race. So many experts on here accusing the track staff of doing nothing, when they have no idea of the facts.2 points

I know I had been to a test match at New Cross in the early '60's....but I don't remember much about it even though I filled in the program. The first one I really remember is in 1964 at Wembley GB v USSR and I was hooked.....went to most Test matches from then until about 1973 loved them all, big crowds and well organized.....still follow them now whenever they are on, which is RARE. I am at a loss as to why they have fallen out of favour, not with the fans but the promoters.......there used to almost 30 home meetings a year at every track, I think you are lucky now if you get 20.....all those wasted weeks when SOME entertainment like Test matches could be done....even at junior level.....2 points

I’m talking nonsense yet you bang on about heat 15 which I made no mention of, why didn’t he just do 3 rides then withdraw from the meeting then? Let’s applaud him for missing meetings (well except his polish ones)1 point

Yes, but your track now won't allow for any massive wins imo. Everyone likes it.1 point

No. I’m saying Belle Vue didn’t get any gate money from the evening fixture.1 point

It’s an easy thing to police. Riders who complete league meetings abroad then give the UK a miss need to be dealt with. You will get the very odd circumstance where a rider aggravates an injury or like Dan has some other accident (he got hit by a car whilst bike riding) but these are easily qualified. The only other issue is for those few not rights who think a rider going for individual glory whilst injured like Kurtz, Collins, Carter etc are a holes and should be banned. Grim.1 point

I was just about to post exactly the same... until a few minutes ago they were still showing a link selling tickets for yesterday morning's meeting! And now they've got the most minimal match report: "A challenging bank holiday of racing saw the Belle Vue ‘ATPI’ Aces move from fourth to second in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership, ahead of their final meeting at King’s Lynn on August 28." Seriously, that's it. It may go some way to explaining why they've got the best Speedway stadium in the UK, the best race track in the world and can only attract a few hundred people along from Britain's 3rd largest city!1 point

How poor are the Aces away? Shockingly bad. The usual meeting at Owlerton tho seems it’s the usual fare of little passing. Good to see the Tigers so dominant. Gonna be tough with rr or guest for Woffy tho in the play offs. Very silent on Kurtz, is he picking meetings again like so many taking the wee this season?1 point

I thought exactly the same, maybe it's because the bikes aren't whizzing past your nose like they are at a league track. You're quite far away from the action and the stadium is that big, I find it can all be a bit distracting.1 point
