Firstly, I was not referring to any of your posts, it’s was the one which was claiming it will never happen. I have never said a return is imminent, just that maybe closer than we have been what with everything but a long way from imminent I’m not party to anything specific but I know things are going as well as they can at this stage, as has been detailed in press releases from the group and interviews which are in the public domain not least on the NBNF podcast with Jeff Davies. I know first hand what it is like to lose a club, I’m a Bradford fan so you don’t need to tell me about super domes and roofs. Even more frustrating is they have a shale track down and still no speedway but that’s another story. Should anyone wish to hear the interview with Jeff Davies it is in this episode here, it’s a few weeks old but nothing has happened in the meantime to make this update any different or less positive at this stage. https://pod.fo/e/2c96c6 So whilst not getting anyone’s hopes up but the to say it will never happen is equally wide of the mark. Let’s see, this is not just a petition, people are working to try and make this happen and they deserve our support. Many have supported it, we’ve spoken about it on BSN to help drive the campaign for public backing, and the support has been excellent. We all hope it has a good outcome, anybody can say it won’t. One of us will be right 😂🤷🏼♂️7 points

When you look at the Trophy you will see Sam Hagon's name on it twice in the last 2 years, there will be no comments section engraved on the cup. It is a case of "how many" not "how", you could say he was lucky, but I have found the harder you work, the luckier you get ! It is not his fault the system is set up for a winner takes all final, but it was there for all 4 riders to take advantage of, you just have to accrue enough points to get to the final, then in the most important race you need to want it more, and make your own "luck"3 points
-
How you can say Hagon was the best rider on the night. Yes he won the meeting, under a winner takes all system. Both Thompson and Cairns beat him in the heats. He lost to Harrison in the Semi. All three rider in the final outscored him in the actual meeting. Thompson only dropped on point with Cairns dropping just two. Hagon scrapped into the semi as the lowest qualifier! having to win his last ride to do so. The original line up for heat 19 had Dan Thompson in it. Hagon was quite fortunate on the front. For needing to beat Thompson to squeeze into the semi would have been a tall order. So congratulations to Hagon for taking his chances, but best rider on the night! No not in my opinion. Would you have said said Kubera was a better on the night than Lebedevs, Lambert and Lingren? in last weeks GP. I would suggest no. The system played into his hands. Should he have deserved a chance of getting in the main GP final on six pts? I would say no, but just like it was for Hagon it was the rules. Stupid but still the rules. Could you have imagined the uproar if he went on to win the final and was awarded 20 pts after only amassing six in the actual meeting.3 points

You can’t sugar coat this. You might have injured riders and be gutted but why should belle Vue and Sheffield fans have sympathy for you. We are all fighting for top spot. It’s not gloating about injuries, I wish the injured riders well as I’m sure others will. Ipswich fans getting on there high horses for nothing here. tells me your worried3 points
-
Everybody saw that coming unless you have no speedway knowledge I think Sheffield would have lost at King’s Lynn if it was r/r for Holder and Hume for Kerr And to gloat over riders being injured just shows a lack of class Every Ipswich fan congratulated Leicester tonight …. Yet we get weird accusations of us lowering our averages …. Then the Belle Vue idiot and now a Sheffield fan gloating …. Belle Vue who we thrashed twice and Sheffield who we held to 2 points …. I’m sure if we have our full 1-7 back we aren’t exactly worried3 points

I'm pleased with the reserve choices. Always better to go with ability / who performed best in qualifiers etc. Nothing against Sam Hagon, but if he couldn't qualify for the British final, how can he expect to compete against GP riders. When the youngsters are good enough they'll get their chances, till then, that's what the SGP2 is for, the next batch of future stars.3 points

All the cup competitions should have designated dates like the football. Year after year we have the same situation with cup fixtures.3 points

@R87 is the poster who said "good riddance" when Wolves closed lets not forget. There is still much work to do in the fight to keep Coventry running again. While Brandon is still there though (albeit decaying) never say never. I wish them well.2 points

As I’ve said before I always feel Leicester are our toughest opponents at Foxhall You would prefer Bewley Kurtz and Lidsey over Fricke Masters and Douglas all day long ….. but at Foxhall the 3 Leicester boys go better then the 3 Belle Vue boys Add in that Blodorn and Zach Cook are generally awful and that Becker and Howarth aren’t … and that Belle Vue reserves are poor generally …. Then you can see why Belle Vue are probably the better 1-7 but at Foxhall we are more likely to beat Belle Vue easily as opposed to Leicester And Leicester absolutely deserved it last night2 points

It is the same with most individual meetings, its all about qualifying for the final stages, Dan Thompson was the best rider in the meeting and most likely would have won without injury. I thought Sam deserved it as he came from the back to qualify for the final and also in the final to win it.2 points
-
The only rider Hagon could conceivably replaced (staying under the limit) is Tobias Thomsen. Hagon's 2025 ave 4.35 (4.87), Thomsen's 5.19 (6.67). Well done to Sam for winning the meeting (despite not being the best rider in it) but that doesn't mean Poole made an error in not wanting him back.2 points
-
His head completely in the clouds regarding the Alexander stadium! £6,000 rent per meeting, meaning tickets for his 600 crowdwould have to start at £100 before you even get tothinking about paying riders, cloud cuckoo land, ……………………. i make that £10 per head The rest might be right to be fair.2 points

Good to see Sam finding some kind of form again, but it's been a long time coming. Mind you pity he found it again when against Poole, re the U21 final well that's racing for you, take the luck when you can. The question of course is can he maintain this level of success?2 points

Many of us saw this coming but were hopeful the others could see us through. Well done to Leicester for taking full advantage. Fair play to them. When you operate R/R for your No.1, everyone else has to chip in with valuable points. Bringing in a reserve that you know is not going to score many points means you're effective a 5 man team - very dangerous. But the thing that has annoyed me, is the state of the track AGAIN. Similar to the Bank Holiday, there were blue grooves appearing on the entries to the corner, not as bad but they were there. This meant there was only ever one racing line. Nobody was using the outside which was the only thing that was getting graded with the new shiny tractor. The temperature and weather was normal in the few days before the meeting. So there were no excuses. Not only did we lose but the racing was poor. Not good enough.2 points

I always felt he has under achieved in his career thus far - despite the obvious bit of leicester winning being a bit of a blow for the Witches - its good to see both him and Rowe having good seasons.2 points

The draw was made live during last Fridays stream of the Scunthorpe v Glasgow meeting and paired Glasgow and Redcar along with Poole v Oxford but this doesn't seem to have been published anywhere. Why? Neither Glasgow nor Redcar have a team fixture tomorrow which seemed the obvious time for the Redcar leg given Glasgow have the SGP2 the following night at Ashfield. Anyone know anything about what is happening?1 point

As a neutral, I really enjoyed watching Workington last year. A new team, some young unknown and exciting riders and to be honest, a breath of fresh air. So what has happened, they look like a team of inexperienced/novice riders lacking any spark or excitement. I don't understand it.1 point

Don’t shoot the messenger, but this in Poland today: However, everything indicates that Jason Doyle will return to competition sooner than expected. On Thursday evening on the X service, Eurosport commentator Michał Korościel reported that it is almost certain that the Australian will start in the upcoming round of the Speedway Grand Prix. It will take place on May 31 on the track in Prague. It will be exactly two weeks since Doyle's fall in Warsaw, which is full of admiration.1 point

But if you watch the forecast rather than listen to the clowns in front of the map, not much rain is forecast, everything is bone dry, so it will be like a sponge soaking the rain up. Just bring yer brolly 2morrow just in case 😄1 point

Yes agree with that, Boughen was having a difficult time in the championship too, sometimes when in front he looks fast and he has had the odd decent meeting.Flint has looked better this season, even last night despite suffering with a cold he was better than Kerr. Anders was pretty decent too. Killeen too is struggling. Maybe a little time out of the firing line will do them good.1 point

Everybody saw that coming unless you have no speedway knowledge. I didn't see it coming, okay I was not expecting the big win that Ipswich have been doing so far this season, but the strength in depth with the Witches I thought that they would come through with a narrow win. I would put that down to the clever team building the Promotion with one of the best bit of team building. And to upset you further a team building exercise that can be likened to past Poole teams. I think Sheffield would have lost at King’s Lynn if it was r/r for Holder and Hume for Kerr. I would say you are probably correct, would not disagree with that. And to gloat over riders being injured just shows a lack of class. I don't see where anyone gloats at the Ipswich team having a couple injuries. There not the first team to suffering injuries and they won't be the last. Rather playing the victim, why not when someone describes your team as the "Mighty" take it as a compliment, because the team built from Ipswich is very difficult to beat at Foxhall or any other track. To win the league you need a decent team, and there also needs to be an element of luck. The injuries to Doyle and Thompson don't appear to season ending, Ipswich team without those two should still be have enough quality to qualify for the Play Offs, and come Play Offs I would imagine that Doyle and Thompson will return they will be the team to beat.1 point

Should have went for Joe T, but that ship has well and truly sailed. Think Jody would be a better option around Saddlebow Road (maybe sign both and have one as a no.8 so they are interchangeable) if that still exists…1 point

Having watched Ben’s interview on BSN last night, I’m getting some serious doubts whether he will be back in Stars colours this season. I can see something similar happening like it did with Pickering a couple of seasons ago, and Belle Vue managing to find a way to declare him in their 1-71 point

Maybe the delayed streams attracted so few buyers, that Birmingham decided it wasn't worth recording the meeting?1 point

The resident prat is back again Leicester was always going to be our toughest home meeting they have riders who can ride our track and not guys like Blodorn Lidsey and Cook who are only used to winding it on which is why your mob are useless at our place Well done Leicester totally deserved on the night1 point

Awful track, Josh Pickering showing why he's a brilliant captain once again with the logic he used when winning the coin toss. Would've won inside 15 Heats but Chris Holder fluffed his lines in Heat 13 which pushed the meeting through to a Super Heat.1 point

Think it's far too big a jump for Mark Parker, without meaning to sound harsh, using Parker sound like Monarchs have given up on the tie.1 point

Where have you got that impression from? I haven't read anything anywhere that says a return to Brandon is imminent, and I follow all the reports from the Save Coventry Speedway campaign. I find all their reports to be honest and helpful, and I commend them on the terrific fight they have put up so far, but I haven't seen anything saying the fight is over and a return is imminent. What have you been reading?1 point
-
Probably not. BUT the longer all alternative options are closed off to them, the more likely the presence of a willing and credible purchaser will mean it becomes their least worst option1 point

As everyone kniws, pretty much all riders get their overall average based on a home average being higher than their away average... Meaning therefore that "6 point riders" will, for most, deliver around a seven and a five... No surprise when they perform poorly away then is there?1 point
-
Very surprising from the Berwick promotion. It would be more understandable if these meetings were months apart, but two local-ish derbies in a row is madness imo. Hopefully it doesn’t affect the numbers through the gate. It’s also hardly exciting for the regular BSN viewer to watch the same track two weeks on the bounce.1 point

No! No! No! We must keep team racing with seven riders per team, 15 heats of four lap speedway, and maintain the excellent facility to upgrade your team by using better riders from your competitors on an adhoc, make it up as you go along, basis... The riders should be expected to have at least £20k of kit available at all times and the promoters can then pay them several times that.... And do so through an admission fee that bears little correlation to the standing and credibility of the sport, but has everything to do with paying out those tens of thousands to riders so they can be fully professional in a sport that barely generates 20,000 visits a week from 20 matches across the country... Keep that fantastic operating model that devalues any and all competition's, and there really is no need for any change at all... Rinse and Repeat, roll on 2026... Next on the agenda. Find the next cannon fodder team to make the top tier up to seven teams, rather than doing anything radical...1 point
