I don’t think Rugby BC would go down this route if they didn’t have all their ducks in a row legally. Brandon estates are in a corner now trying to play poker with no cards. It’s certainly a pivotal time , looking back at the closing statements from the appeal even hooper from the dark side BE admitted that a compulsory order compensation could be zero due to the investment needed to return Brandon to a motorsports venue. So take the offer that’s been made already. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome. up the bees6 points

Not wishing to labour the point, I'm going to labour the point. Since Max Fricke joined Leicester: 2023 rode in 24 out of 24 league matches 2024 rode in 24 out of 24 league matches 2025 has ridden in 10 out of 10 league matches Brings his mechanical team to all meetings, not a turn up and ride the track spare with a have spanner will travel mechanic Hasn't missed any matches chasing personal glory Hasn't let the club down on the eve of the season Hasn't been done for taking drugs! Yes he had a slow start to his Leicester career and went missing in the Finals last year, but everybody is entitled to a duffer now and again, it was just unfortunate it was in the final... that's sport. I'd say he was the model "star" for the Premiership League and like you say... he's a class act. 👍6 points

But it does also suggest the council feel, very much legally, that they are in a position to say... "We've had enough of this bollox, time to put an end to it, and it reverts back to being a sporting venue".. Take the money on offer or " EFF off" could be the only option for those who own it...3 points

I don't know where you get that from, we like close exciting meetings, it is disappointing to not see Edwards ride, he is a up and coming rider with a good future in the sport and talks very intelligently on tv.3 points

No, no, no, no!! You don’t sit down riders like PC, Mort, Smith, Screen, Loram, Bewley etc and tell them to learn to gate better. You sit the promoters down and demand that they provide race tracks that allows this type of rider to RACE on.3 points

Watching him for the last 2 and a half seasons week in week out... this is not the case!3 points

Very unfortunate and a rider I like very much. Comes across as articulate and a very nice chap. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Who can take his rides if r/r?3 points

No one should need to volunteer, the team manager should pick who he wants to use surely?2 points

Apparently no one else volunteered to ride H15 with Lawson. Only Tobi!2 points

Please don't use that tired old "put their lives on the line for our entertainment" trope. They do it because i) they enjoy it, b) they're good at it, and 3) most make a living from it. The point I was making is that they don't have to pay to watch what they are producing, supposedly in the name of entertainment - if entertainment was their primary concern, the racing should be better.2 points

From what I’ve seen of Hagon this season he likes a bit of dirt around the outside, he enters the corner fast, drifts across till he hits the dirt and relies on that outside line to pull him out of the corner, pretty much everything Perry Barr doesn’t have, he isn’t the worst rider we could of had but in a struggling team I can’t see enough points from him to make our task any easier, anyway good luck Sam hope you prove me wrong2 points

Great to see Dan get a wildcard as I didn't think he'd get one, he definitely deserves to be in the field as he's been riding fantastically. Do feel for those who didn't win the ballot in Glasgow as none of them got in the field, especially when Bednar got in after finishing tied 6th in his qualifier.2 points

I think with our full 1-7,we could have gone really close, if not taken a win, but with the changes, 50-40 to Poole.2 points

Their main symptoms has been low attendance which in turn is because of ongoing track problems the past couple of seasons. Track also haven't been curated or prepared properly for a few seasons. Before meetings track preparations have begun too late/too close to the start of the meeting. Track has therefore not been good and quite dusty (according to meeting reports). This season Piraterna's first home meeting (against Smederna) was aborted because track was unsafe (reports of large sheets of the track coming loose. Piraterna's second home meeting was aborted halfway through. So lots of spectators have stayed at home. I had quick look for attendance for piraterna the latest three seasons and the high note for attendance was about 2400 and the lowest about 900, not really economical sustainable attendance. However after the problems after their second home meeting they brought in a grader and another vehicle to begins work the the track, but perhaps too late? What the real cause is I don't know. Lack of volunteers with proper interest/knowledge or unable to commit to the amount time needed? Lack of knowledge/pondus in the board? I don't know.. Perhaps a bit of all of those? IMO Daniel Davidsson (team manager) has done a very good job building a team with small budget and unlike previous times with clubs have money difficulties Piraterna have in my opinion not overextended/ signed too many fancy names for too much money. On the contrary Daniel Davidsson have done a goodjob getting a pretty good team together with small means.2 points

In most cases like this it is perceived to be an admission of guilt in some people’s eyes. Personally I cannot see Nick returning that ship has sailed and probably for the best.2 points

Anyone remember Briggo getting surprised by Eamonn Andrews about 50 years ago. Seems to remember they were reluctant to let riders speak in case they swore but happily had a nurse who tended him after his finger injury say her piece1 point

Wrong Clive! Track was kept watered witt some good racing. Great to see Danny ride well, would have preferred him to Steve but one had to go.1 point

Lawson is flying. Huge 5-1 from Kerr and Cook a couple of races ago. Redcar are patched up, but Poole are a different class. Massively underestimated this season, including by me.1 point

That’s the second time in two weeks you’ve quoted me and said this. 1. Stop following me around, you little creep. 2. It’s called having standards son. Something you’d have no idea about.😂 Another low IQ pleb.😂 I share my observations from the meeting and two members engage in constructive discussion, but one member - @TracksideView - asks if I need a cuddle, but it’s me who is childish? Tell me you’re unintelligent without telling me you’re unintelligent.😂1 point

One could argue that Tim Sugar single handedly won Racers the KO Cup in 1990 (Belle Vue fans will know what I mean), so team managers can make a difference. My bugbear is ex-riders who have never read or struggle to understand the rulebook. Appoint them as a coach by all means, but (as with Wayne Rooney in football) they should be nowhere near the manager position.1 point
-
Without a decent level of statistics to confirm or deny that is a bold claim. What could easier be argued is that the level of competition within Polish matches is closer and therefore the likelihood of contact occurring is higher1 point

What are Berwick? speedways halfway house? Surely lessons were learnt after Boxall. Banned riders should return with +3 on their average. At the time everyone is appalled and cannot wait to see the back of said rider, a year or so passes, the sport is desperate for heat leaders and all is forgiven.1 point

I don't follow either of these teams but if you don't do Facebook then where are you going to hear about it, there was no preview on the British speedway website when I posted earlier they just cobbled something together late on, no wonder the sports dying a death, national league was a decent standard a few years ago, now little more than a glorified training session, and they still expect people to pay for it, no wonder people are walking away.1 point
