Yes he had a slow start to his Leicester career and went missing in the Finals last year, but everybody is entitled to a duffer now and again, it was just unfortunate it was in the final... that's sport. Please don't use that tired old "put their lives on the line for our entertainment" trope. They do it because i) they enjoy it, b) they're good at it, and 3) most make a living from it. The point I was making is that they don't have to pay to watch what they are producing, supposedly in the name of entertainment - if entertainment was their primary concern, the racing should be better.

From what I’ve seen of Hagon this season he likes a bit of dirt around the outside, he enters the corner fast, drifts across till he hits the dirt and relies on that outside line to pull him out of the corner, pretty much everything Perry Barr doesn’t have, he isn’t the worst rider we could of had but in a struggling team I can’t see enough points from him to make our task any easier, anyway good luck Sam hope you prove me wrong

Great to see Dan get a wildcard as I didn't think he'd get one, he definitely deserves to be in the field as he's been riding fantastically. Do feel for those who didn't win the ballot in Glasgow as none of them got in the field, especially when Bednar got in after finishing tied 6th in his qualifier.

I think with our full 1-7,we could have gone really close, if not taken a win, but with the changes, 50-40 to Poole.

Their main symptoms has been low attendance which in turn is because of ongoing track problems the past couple of seasons. Track also haven't been curated or prepared properly for a few seasons. Before meetings track preparations have begun too late/too close to the start of the meeting. Track has therefore not been good and quite dusty (according to meeting reports). This season Piraterna's first home meeting (against Smederna) was aborted because track was unsafe (reports of large sheets of the track coming loose. Piraterna's second home meeting was aborted halfway through. So lots of spectators have stayed at home. I had quick look for attendance for piraterna the latest three seasons and the high note for attendance was about 2400 and the lowest about 900, not really economical sustainable attendance. However after the problems after their second home meeting they brought in a grader and another vehicle to begins work the the track, but perhaps too late? What the real cause is I don't know. Lack of volunteers with proper interest/knowledge or unable to commit to the amount time needed? Lack of knowledge/pondus in the board? I don't know.. Perhaps a bit of all of those? IMO Daniel Davidsson (team manager) has done a very good job building a team with small budget and unlike previous times with clubs have money difficulties Piraterna have in my opinion not overextended/ signed too many fancy names for too much money. On the contrary Daniel Davidsson have done a goodjob getting a pretty good team together with small means.

Most Bears fans predicted a 10 point defeat so we weren’t too far off. Comfortable win for a strong Poole team who will only get stronger when Cook finds his form and Cairns comes in. The Team to beat as usual. For the Bears to win they would have needed everything to go in their favour and It didn’t. Losing the toss in Heat 1 and conceding 2 5-1’s was the worst possible start. Danny rode well , Thompson did ok (but the track would have suited Jason tonight) but Charles and Erik weren’t at their best and the tail was very long. Mulford needs to show more away from home. Couple of decent races early on but racing deteriorated as the meeting went on with very little passing after turn 2.

Looks like Riss only has one bike also... why was it left to the junior guest to provide Riss with a replacement bike! Not a great look. Just seen Riss has got 2 bikes in the pits, the other one obviously not ready to go.

What rain? The sat early morning stuff will improve the track and I think by the time we get there this forecast will show even less.

Poole ride their luck again, with another side turning up with a guest and a missing reserve. Easy win tonight for Pool - the home fans wll be happy, they dont like close meetings .

I would be disappointed to have JT for Edwards, he is nowhere near as good and not the best option either, Barker has scored better and always seems to revel in winning races against Poole so he would be my pick. Redcar are unfortunate as it looks like Edwards maybe missing for a while and Birmingham have already replaced him with Hagon which weakens Birmingham too.

Better tracks....apart from BV the Prem doesn't have an awful lot. Champ has Glasgow, Worky, Scunny, Redcar which are all very good.

Firstly, I was not referring to any of your posts, it’s was the one which was claiming it will never happen. I have never said a return is imminent, just that maybe closer than we have been what with everything but a long way from imminent I’m not party to anything specific but I know things are going as well as they can at this stage, as has been detailed in press releases from the group and interviews which are in the public domain not least on the NBNF podcast with Jeff Davies. I know first hand what it is like to lose a club, I’m a Bradford fan so you don’t need to tell me about super domes and roofs. Even more frustrating is they have a shale track down and still no speedway but that’s another story. Should anyone wish to hear the interview with Jeff Davies it is in this episode here, it’s a few weeks old but nothing has happened in the meantime to make this update any different or less positive at this stage. https://pod.fo/e/2c96c6 So whilst not getting anyone’s hopes up but the to say it will never happen is equally wide of the mark. Let’s see, this is not just a petition, people are working to try and make this happen and they deserve our support. Many have supported it, we’ve spoken about it on BSN to help drive the campaign for public backing, and the support has been excellent. We all hope it has a good outcome, anybody can say it won’t. One of us will be right 😂🤷🏼‍♂️

There has never been a bigger likelihood of speedway returning to Brandon than there is today, it may not fit the doom monger narrative but maybe give credit to those who haven’t rolled over and given up. Nobody is saying anything about a multi million restoration, it would be a basic version initially and a lot of the old buildings may have to go. But can speedway get back there, absolutely it can, let’s see… 👀
