It was an awful crash. All four riders were still pretty bunched coming out the last bend, and when Jonatan Grahn whacked the fence on the home straight his bike careered straight into Danyon's path. He somersaulted right over it, coming down on his head or neck, with his bike (which may have caused the real damage) landing right on top of him from a height. While seriously hurt, the news that he is awake, and has full movement is a great relief. To the person, the idiot, who complained about the meeting not concluding, I can only say that while the club operates dual medical cover, the severity of Danyon's injuries meant that both paramedics and their staff were quite rightly fully engaged in working with him, right there on the track. Some things in speedway are more important than getting the next race on. Get well, Danyon. You are one of the happiest, friendliest chaps I've ever met. Why do bad things happen to good people?11 points

Even in this keyboard warrior social media semi delinquent age, I cannot seriously believe what I am reading here. Top Class Rider Top Class bloke Credit to the Sport and very Club he has ridden for. Clearly has a serious neurological issue that affects his eyesight. Just dwell on that for a minute! Clearly has a serious neurological issue that affects his eyesight. Yet we have people with no compassion no care and probably no understanding of the seriousness of the situation arguing about whether he sould get a 7-28 day exemption, is witholding his services and other clap trap. The guy is in a potentially life changing situation for christs sake. Think of him, his family, his friends and Redcar Speedway. Give your heads a wobble and lets all support Erik and hopefully see him back once he is fully recovered.11 points

Oh hokey hokey cokey Oh hokey cokey cokey You put your RS in , you take your RS out In ,out , in out , move them all about!10 points

Erik is clearly very ill. He has not only stopped racing in this country, he has withdrawn from the long track championship where he was expected to be a front runner. I've read reports that he has pressure on his brain which sounds very scary. I hope people join with me and wish him him a speedy recovery.8 points

there is nothing to see here about edwards he got injured and instead of getting guests, brum signed hagon as full time RS meaning edwards had no club, assume the plan was to bring edwards back in when hes fit and ready, obviously either brum are happy with hagon or jason didnt want to return to brum. either way hagon is the official RS so edwards can guest wherever he wants6 points

This sort of stuff is just indefensable, Every Worky ride banned from earning a living apart from Zischke. The riders shouldn't be punished, Vuolas should be taking things further tbh.5 points

If you want an idea just how detrimental Tatum is to our sport growing look no further than tonight. For what it is worth tonight was great speedway with a bit of everything in there and it was ruined by him spouting horse dung. A protest outside the discovery HQ is required. Tatum OUT Dave Rowe IN.4 points

I’m beginning to get a bit worried I’m going to get a call in the next hour to see if I can get my weslake up to belle vue for 7.304 points
-
Rainfall radar suggests a couple of brief showers passed earlier, but nothing more until the possibility of another one circa 9pm. This call-off scores about 9.2 out of 10 on the 'crock o' rubbish' ometer.4 points

Don’t care anymore, sick of the sport, it’s a joke top to bottom, let the sycophants cry at its extinction4 points

British speedway has no credibility left, I’m sick of defending it, sod it, it deserves extinction and a pox on every bastard who got it there4 points

I'm genuinely sorry to say this, but Tatum has been an absolute embarrassment this evening. Anyone can make an error, but for someone with his experience in the sport to announce repeatedly that 45 points wins the meeting is, frankly, bordering on the unprofessional.3 points
-
I can't believe Allen - who comes across as a pretty intelligent, clued-up guy, didn't put Tatum right. He didn't have to do it on air ... he could have passed him a note. As for Abi constantly laughing about the hash tag - it's not the slightest bit funny. Nor professional.3 points

This is a very tough meeting and great racing at times! Glad to see a good, close meeting on TV for once. We normally moan it’s the other match that isn’t on TV which is better !3 points
-
They ask the fans for their input ,then do nothing. Its their ball and they are not giving it too anybody. They need to tell the riders that are not committed to Uk speedway where to go ,and not let them dictate everything for themselves as has been happening for the last 10 years at least. The chickens at are coming home to roost I’m afraid. Step back required IMO3 points

Can’t understand the Workington lads being blocked from guesting, not their fault their champ club is having difficulties is it, the two young lads riding elsewhere in another league tonight would make zero difference to that situation, how’s it different to ziscke riding for belle vue?3 points
-
This isn’t hard to understand and can’t see why forum members over react Firstly Jason Edwards does not have a club he isn’t part of Birmingham he was released for Sam Hagon The fact Birmingham are riding tonight is has as much relevance as Belle Vue riding tonight … Edwards does not have a club Put it this way if Ipswich redeclare without Jenkins then if he comes back he can guest for any other club as he won’t be a Witch… come on speedway fans this isn’t that technical Foord was originally asked to guest It now appears all Workington riders are banned from guesting …. Foord now can’t ride tonight Speedway has lots of things that make the sport lack credibility… but tonight definitely isn’t one of them3 points

Amazes me Buster changes the centre green from grass to concrete then where does all the water run. You’ve all guessed it on the track causing it to be waterlogged. What a knob.3 points

Hope Edwards is a full time Witch, The likeable young lad deserves a break from having to ride Perry Barr on a regular basis. Good things come to those who wait.3 points

Anyone can check the radar (even I managed it ) Was the briefest of very light showers and forecast is for 7 hours of completely dry conditions with a warm day and stiff drying wind Granted not easy and straightforward given the very significant rainfall of the last 24 hours or so but certainly perfectly possible IF the will is there.....3 points

If the track was extended onto the old dog track, even by say 2m it would make a big difference to the racing. Maybe the way forward should be for Bournemouth Poole and Christchurch Council to think BIG and look to develop Wimborne Road, into a national speedway stadium. OK I'm dreaming!3 points

Excellent post and if it is a true reflection of the facts then why not say this in the press release? Making up nonsense about a rain off is insulting to his paying customers.3 points

If a company doesn’t file their Corporation Tax return, VAT or PAYE return then HMRC actually have the legal authority to issue an assessed/estimated bill for payment based on the average bills of similar sized companies. But this is not HMRC who have closed the company. For them to do so requires them to submit a Winding Up Petition to the High Court and then obtain a Winding Up Order. All of which has to be published in the London Gazette records which are publicly available online. Nothing has been published to that effect. It is the Registrar of Companies who has had the company struck off and so it no longer exists as a legal entity. So anything that the company did that requires legal entity status it is now unable to do - they can’t hold a speedway licence, can’t employ people, can’t be the employer sponsor for work visas etc etc2 points

Not quite sure why everyone is struggling with this. Lynn are a perfect example. Declaring and re-declaring their side containing different RS’s whenever it suits. Ipswich are without their current rising Star, so they can choose another rising Star that isn’t currently declared in another teams 1-7. Where’s the confusion? For what it’s worth I’ve NEVER liked the crock of sh!te that is the rising Star scheme. You have the NDL and Championship to develop riders. When they’re good enough, they’ll naturally get their chance in the top flight (whilst it’s there). As for preferential picks in order of which position teams finished in a totally different season, don’t get me started on that farce!2 points

Kemp riding for Team GB so we’d be silly to arrange a meeting when he’s not here, plus our number 1 will be in the pub that day2 points

Probably more for Sheffield benefit2 points

Buster didn’t call it off, Lynn gave the picture of the track and the weather forecast to the BSPL and they granted the postponement 🤷🏻♂️ simple2 points

Danyon is a good lad, always gives 100% Thoughts and prayers for him and his family. Very unlucky again and many of his injuries just fate at being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Fingers crossed he makes a full recovery.2 points
-
Why not start at the start of the season and pick a pool of riders who want to ride and just pick bingo balls out and that rider rides for that team. All done on last seasons averages and so you have number 1s 2s etc2 points
-
Wasn't Chapman stopped by the BSPL from calling off meetings at Lynn due to numerous dodgy call offs? I believe an official from the BSPL/SCB had to sign it off. Why was this stopped? The blokes a complete see you next Tuesday2 points

Your comments just show you know nothing of this particular matter. 1. There isn’t a “Coventry” but a body of folk fighting the cause to keep the current site “as is” 2. There is a separate group of folk who the first group are working with/alongside who have absolutely no problem with funding the development (not restoration) of a multi sports complex at Brandon. 3. A miracle is not required. Only the removal of Brandon Estates intransigence. Then the work can and will begin of the development2 points
