Bearing in mind we have some away vulnerability I am delighted with the bonus . I think the performance tonight from Fraser, Jye and Jacob deserves a lot of credit. For Fraser to score so well on his first visit to the home of the champions is great, take a bow Fraser.8 points

With Craig Cook out, the Bandits have turned to fans favourite Troy Batchelor to save the day at Ashfield4 points

Poole top of the league …. Just done over by a patched up Workington over 2 legs … if this was a play off Poole would be out ….. so why if Workington make top 4 can’t they win it as they have clearly just been better than Poole over 2 legs????4 points

Well a clear case of not first bend bunching , shocking decision4 points

Did you use body wash? ... I like your high opinion of yourself too...4 points

Guy Nicholls continues to show his commitment to the local communities. After the recent huge downpours and flooding on the main road at Kesgrave (used of course every day by his vehicles), a big section of the adjacent cycle and footpaths was left covered in a thick sludge. A team with a Tru7 Road Sweeper cleared it all away! I'm sure he's a hard-nosed businessman, but he's definitely still firmly attached to his roots.4 points

Entertaining meeting tonight though can’t believe the Workington fans going hyper over a bonus point. Lots of talking points. Poor Tobias probably doesn’t know where his arse from his el ow is after tonight. Rotten luck in heat 6 when on a 5-1 with Lawson. Looked from the grandstand that he tried to cut to the inside down the back straight but clipped the back of Lawson which brought them both down. Then in heat 8 a coming together with Foord which again saw them both in the deck. I certainly wouldn’t have given Tobias his last ride but I am not Middlo. Rowe in heat 7. Not sure what happened. Did a footrest go through his front wheel? His handlebars were wobbling all over the place and he had to stop. Lawson was excellent as always. Tobias had a poor night. Kerr did OK. Three gated wins then faded. Just can’t pass. Cook started as usual poorly but was much better after that. Thought he should have got heat 14. Rowe wasn’t at his best. Stark did his usual. Cairns paid 9 good effort. For Workington Batchelor did his usual tailed off at the back then won a race. Bowes was excellent. Etheridge best ever performance at Poole. Normally about 4 points. Violas was pretty rubbish to be honest. Hook had his best ever meeting at Poole by far. Foord was miles off it until heat 8 with a kamikaze move which ended his night. Some good hard racing with plenty of passing. How clear are we at the top now? No idea but feel confident of top spot. Well done Workington for putting up a fight and making it entertaining.3 points

AGGREGATE POINT IS OURS. UTC!!! Where's all the poole fans at now?3 points

Doesn't look like the pilots fans are on the forum tonight3 points

This poole commentator is definitely not biased at all. "Vinnie locked up". Oh you mean that smooth pass he made?3 points

Can’t see anything other than Poole to hit 55-60 tonight.3 points

They may be the 2 worse teams in the league... but perhaps this showed how 2 reasonably equal teams can produce a decent match...3 points
-
Well that's first excuess after getting beat if only tate was riding would have got a 24pt max and comets would have hit 76 points3 points

But tonight is not the cup, not the BSN and not the Grand Final. So the argument is irrelevant.2 points

and if my auntie had wheels she’d be a bike. Come on Gav you know as well as I do you don’t win leagues in July. It is encouraging for them though. Chances of Bowes and Ethridge scoring paid 27 between them again are slim to none.2 points
-
Come on this is Poole … their fans are a different breed of weird on this forum …..beaten over 2 legs by Workington who had their 1 and 5 hardly score and an influential reserve taken out of the meeting shows that Poole are beatable2 points
-
why shouldnt they, good for them to lose by four with batch vuolas and foord getting nine between them is pretty remarkable2 points
-
Doesn't matter if you finish top, it's the grand final that matters, IF tonight was the final who won on aggregate ???2 points
-
I can believe Workington going hyper over winning the bonus point as most had it nailed on for Poole!2 points
-
This may be an unpopular opinion but if Bowes keeps the home form up, and with the way he attacks the away tracks, he could become a better signing than Tate was last season.2 points
-
Top of the league, through to next round of both cups without being amazing will take that all day long!2 points

Fantastic effort from the now 5 comets. If we were at full strength could have came away with 3 points, but, before the meeting I’d have snapped your hand off for the bonus point.2 points

Imagine the ref penalising Jye for having a good start. Joker2 points

I still can’t find official team announcements from either sides. If someone could point me in the correct direction I’d appreciate it.2 points

You really have to hand it to Berwick regarding their choice of guest, they substitute one rider who turns up whenever he pleases for another, talk about like for like.2 points

I would hardly describe the Macon final as tinpot, especially as there was a semi earlier this month which enabled Denmark and GB to qualify. As this meeting has been in the calendar way before the British fixture list was published maybe the Championship fixtures are the problem instead ?2 points

Flint did he not want to ride for Glasgow this weekend? Dan Thompson did he not want to ride for Glasgow this weekend? Nagel did he not want to ride for Glasgow this weekend? Mulford did he not want to ride for Redcar this weekend? Knudsen did he not want to ride for Oxford this weekend? They all had a choice to make, and there’s no correct one, as the majority of these riders are missing two league meetings for this tinpot competition, but I’m sure are privileged to ride for their country.2 points

Another way to look at it, Starke beat Harrison, which Cairns couldn't do in heat 2. Starke then had a second place behind Steve Worrall. Starke then had the struggling Declan Kennedy taken out of a heat & lost to Zaine & Mountain. Starke then faced Mountain & tac sub Worrall! Who should Starke have beaten that he didn't? Worrall or Mountain (who Cairns didn't meet)? You wouldn't expect a 4 point away reserve to beat a 5 point home reserve (Zaine)! Now Cairns obviously came on string as the match went on, beating Zaine twice, which is brilliant for a 2 pointer, I take nothing away from him. But you can't deny Starke had harder rides & scored the same. That's not saying Cairns should have done better, just that Starke is being harshly judged imo.2 points

And I have been to the NSS at Easter and the meeting was delayed for longer because the track was a shambles. They bladed all the surface to the outside & piled it up against the airfence. Or maybe both tracks got heavy rain st the wrong time but you obviously know better using your one eye to get a balanced view.2 points

Second turn incident, surely an exclusion for one of the Poole riders?1 point

He did, so Worky fan misquoting then. As no one else mentioned gating. Havvy just said it was slick. Edit - fair play to Tate for coming down to Poole to watch/support (Worky) the meeting. Didn't have to do that.1 point

Hot humid weather up north? Surely not. 😯 It was a quote from Zach. Sure he'd be happy to have a conversation about it with you 👍1 point

But Joe Thompson isn't the problem, it's the RS system. Bar Ipswich and Sheffield All the RS's are in the two point bracket. Yes Thompson is the lowest, but the rider he replaced "Hagon" is only on 2.00. This surely is why Ipswich who have had Jenkins 4.61 and Flint at Sheffield 5.42 are favourites for the title. Now that Jenkins is injured. Ipswich pull a master stroke and get the next best RS in Edwards.1 point

Something about it being slick, gate and go, tyres wearing out, losing the coin toss. All the excuses were coming out. https://www.poole-speedway.com/news/view/20250712-reaction-disastrous-start-left-the-pirates-trailing-the-comets Anyone who was there or streamed it saw exciting racing, what caught Poole out was not knowing what lines to ride. Vinnie, Tate, Fraser, Antti all made great overtakes that night and some in multiple races. On a side note it was mentioned that 300 purchases were made for the live stream that night. Seems to be a success so far.1 point

Drew has opted to ride for Berwick on Friday and Saturday against Glasgow thankfully1 point

I'd be all for a RS system in both leagues. With Jake Mulford, Jason Edwards and Leon Flint being the standard for the Premiership and Ace Pijper, Max Perry and William Cairns being rhe standard for the Championship. It creates a clear next step on the ladder so to speak for riders progressing up the leagues. And the slightly stronger RS at 6 and slightly weaker RS rule being implemented in both leagues tbh. Prem example - 6. Connor Mountain 7. Joe Thompson Champ example - 6. Luke Killeen 7. Jody Scott If someone like Tate Zischke wants to ride in the Premiership or Jacob Hook in the championship they should be at number 2 or 4. Reserves should be protected for young(ish) British riders who can develop. Maybe it could be extended out to Aussies for the likes of Fraser Bowes and Jordy Loftus but that's another topic.1 point

Getting big names in isn't always going to improve the sport... the aim is to improve the quality of racing and that's only ever going to happen if all the riders are at a similar standard. Some of the best races I've ever watched were at amateur level 😄 may have been slower but all 4 riders were all over eachother.1 point
-
I'm not saying that. That is why you are unable to use a quote. But well identified that as with 99% of spectators, I have no track prep experience. On TV Masters said the riders were warned if the work took place that they wanted it was likely to make the track worse. This would appear to have been the case. I thought the track staff turned it round quickly. It would appear to me that they have one of the better group of volunteers. Based on visiting all tracks at least once a season for the last three seasons they appear more organised than others. Air fence panels are changed much quicker than elsewhere. And last night again demonstrated their willingness to get the job done with minimum fuss.1 point
