  1. I think the problem is that the machinery has outgrown the tracks so I agree with your comments. I don’t know what Plymouth is like but if you have a rider like Scott on your books he will dial in to conditions and be a joy to watch. Even at his age his commitment is top drawer and any team/supporter will find him the ultimate professional. When and where possible I would go to any meeting where Scot is riding because he will always give 110%. I was lucky enough to to see him ride for Ipswich and in my eyes he has always been a class act.

  3. Just doesn't want to fly back and forth to Poland just to get 5-1'd around Foxhall almost every race he would've been in.

  4. The Polish Doctors are magnificent..... Every time they magically cure their riders to be able to ride... Our Doctors obviously need to learn a thing or two....

  5. Poole win at home. Instead of being happy with that or congratulating Plymouth on keeping it tight. NO.... the Poole fans slag off their own riders, the track and everyone else because Plymouth actually made a match of it.. HOW DARE THEY. I know it's Pooles God given right to win by a mile every meeting, but a little humility wouldn't go a miss. Still Poole "big fish, little pond" !

  6. Or the riders could admit that the actually problem is the engines used in modern speedway but that will never happen

  7. Terry Russell stated NDL at the public planning consultation. The 500 quote is all about driving an agenda of the Abbey being 'surplus to requirements' to enable the planning there. We all know 500 is way off the mark for Swindon, but my efforts to find anyone with any hard data to support that has met with tumbleweed.

  8. Middlo is a top manager at club or at international level. I don't think he ever managed England but he did manage team GB to within a point of the world cup trophy.

  12. He was great for the Lions. Now though he couldn’t give a toss…… literally…..Which is why he got the Belle Vue & Ipswich captains to do rock/paper/scissors for gate positions on Monday’s TNT meeting!

  13. You say the sport has evolved but some tracks have been around for years and some are new Foxhall has been Ipswich’s home for decades so please enlighten me how they can make it into a better track they can only work with what they have How long have we had Belle Vue , Glasgow and Workington tracks? Answer is not long they have all been purpose built and to a good standard Some of these great fast tracks have closed like Peterborough and Bradford Kings Lynn and Poole used to be good tracks but it shows you how the sport has declined as those clubs dont give a damn about their tracks , Poole in particular Ipswich each winter have made track changes and we have seen better racing then previous years….. tonight it’s the track prep that’s the issue

  14. Hardly any riders team ride these days But when your team needs a 2nd and 3rd to win a match do you not think it’s a tad foolish to just race off into the distance? You are allowed to criticise your own team when they mess up … the riders make mistakes all the time and Bewley absolutely did

  15. Not for me this take.. as the sport has evolved the tracks have not. If you watch racing at Belle Vue, Glasgow or Workington it is like watching a different sport to this absolute tripe on display. Riders are flat out pushing the bikes to their limit and have room for slight error with more room. Tracks like Ipswich, Poole and Edinburgh the riders are hunched over the the bikes trickling round like amateurs just happy to get 4 laps in. The only slight exception to this for me is Plymouth but that is more of a novelty because of how small it is. But these narrow tight tracks are holding the sport back.

  16. Poole is the worst track in the country that’s not up for debate But tonight our track is awful the guys are not happy

  17. Hahahaha Well you win the award for the most stupid comment of the evening Doyle looked back on the back straight saw Ellis in second Bewley needed to help his team mate to win the match!! Nice try trying to compare the two but totally different scenarios Oh and many Belle Vue fans criticised Bewley as well

  18. I used to think Poole was the worst track in the country but this Ipswich track comfortably takes that accolade. Can anybody send me a link to a good race around here? Almost every rider aside from Doyle and Emil look like complete novices wobbling round and in fairness Emil looks like he is massively struggling tonight.

  20. Tungate hasn't been committed all season and he should've been sacked ages ago. League needs some serious surgery this winter, Bin all of the pish takers off for good.

  24. Given Dan’s showboating after heat 15 I’d guess the communication between manager and riders was sadly lacking. You hit the nail on the head about letting Emil go and concentrate on Jason, a tactic that I think would have worked if attempted. It’s always been a bugbear for me when riders are told the score and they say they had no idea. If I was manager I tell all my team that I could ask them the score at any time and I’d want a correct answer. Sure, riders want to win but the team must come first so why jeopardise a needed safe position with an unnecessary risky passing manoeuvre. It’s very different these days as it’s a group of individuals riding for a club and not a team in the true sense of the word. If a rider doesn’t know the meeting score how will they know if Jake is have a bad time and needs some assistance?

  25. At 26 and 28 and with the quality they have, they should be more than capable of team riding if they want to.

  26. very true, but dan also probably didnt know what the outcome means, i mean he did like 3 laps of wheelies after heat 15 then did doughnuts before being dragged back to the pits, hahaha

  27. slowing down a race at NSS is so difficult. also i imagine he thinks brady can handle himself which 99% of the time he can but jason rode an exceptional race to keep him behind, used all his experience

  31. Such a sad way to end Brums existence. My reason for attending these past 3 years has been to see some good racing even though we have been on the wrong end of a few tonkings. But last seasons poor team building and this seasons closure announcement combined with another poor team has made it very difficult to endure. The team were obviously too weak from the off and has been gradually downgraded throughout the season. OK Tolley has lost a lot of money throughout this venture but surely the only way he was going to increase the audience was to put together a side which could at least compete at home. I have always loved this sport but after this I'm not sure whether I'll be attending any meetings at all next season, I'll probably change my mind as the season approaches but this episode has really skewed the way I see the sport in this country. I only hope that Coventry make it back to the tapes because I cant see myself making many trips to Leicester or Oxford to get my fix.

  32. I don't see the need for it. If a meeting ends in a draw then it's already been an exciting end to the meeting with a lady heat decider. While some say it's extra value for money for fans & an extra heat to watch. That's not something fans can plan for, a fan on the fence about whether they go to watch a match, isn't going to day "you know what, let's go incase we get an extra race for our money". I just don't see what's wrong with a drawn meeting!

  34. Be greedy and come twice 😁 then if/when you like it, you can return for a 3rd time against the tiggers of Glasgow 😄

  35. I would not believe all you see, some riders are on average reducing duty.

  36. The criticism of the track may well be valid but some level of criticism must lay with the riders who on today’s machine can rarely adapt to different track conditions and it makes the racing boring because of the set up and the general lack of rider skills with most on gate and go bikes but little track craft. Give the riders four track spares and ask them to race and then you will separate the men from the boys. Until you have an affordable level playing field races will be strung out because riders have simply lost the art/skill of riding to the conditions rather than the set ups.

  38. Must admit, don't think Poole are favourites this year, has to be Glasgow for me, but never right Poole off, we all know who they are come the playoffs. On the subject of being quiet, don't think we will hear much from you, after the Glasgow match tomorrow night

  40. I'd say 7+2 from 4 rides, from a 4 point rider pretty decent myself. I'd also say 6+1 from 4 rides from Cairns, who is just 16 was decent as well. Not sure i would of felt the need to mention his poor gating in his last ride. Just my opinion of course.

  41. I don't disagree with positive aspects of the heat itself - drama, tension and a win on the line Where it is wrong is down to it creating an extra match point which isn't available in other matches

  42. Wow you do write so much garbage Klindt loves the Poole track … 10 from 4 and 12 from 5 last season Nicholls scored 6 from 5 in the cup final but loves Poole lol Decent win??? By 6?? Against a team with 2 weak reserves and getting an injured heat leader during the meeting after 1 ride to be replaced by average reserves Poole are struggling … Glasgow and Redcar must be licking their lips …. Glasgow to finish top and Poole to face Redcar in the semis

  43. Spot on …. Great rider that Bewley is he definitely messed up the superheat … surely his manager must have reminded him of the scoring system

  44. Hopscotch, tail on the donkey (or dirt deflector on the speedway bike), marbles.... Surely the SCB are being a bit tongue in cheek here, it's a random way to see who gets the choice, for goodness sake. I wonder if the coin has to have a minimum number of revolutions to be legal toss, or they could toss off if there's a dispute.....

  49. I have read that they estimate 500 spectators. This could be a cause for concern on the viability of the new stadium. For those people who have proof that Swindon was previously getting a lot more spectators I would urge you to write to the planning officer Oliver Phippen with evidence and explain how Speedway is a much more viable business (supported with planning policy) in contradiction to the applicant's statement (Swindon Motorsports).
