  1. Maybe if Oxford were paying the riders it would be different story! riders are owned a lot of money now I don’t blame them

  3. Villads Nagel is looking like he will give him a run for his money for best newcomer. Nagel hasn't had the benefit of starting from reserve but has been hugely impressive so far, he can gate, can pass outside, inside and cut back. He's had 7 matches and been paid for double figures in his last 5. Nagel has still to go to tricky away tracks Armadale (1 possibly 2 times), and Wimborne Rd (1 possibly 2 or 3 times) but so far is averaging above McDiarmid - who didn't have a great meeting at Ashfield this week, although unusually despite being taken out of his 3rd ride for Masters, McDiarmid still got into heat 15

  4. Agreed. Easily the best two teams away from home and do not rely on throttle jockeys.

  7. What time do we start slating the track and comparing the types of passes made by riders against belle Vue? Just asking for a friend

  8. Everyone bar you on this forum will understand why Plymouth fielded such a team! Maybe they should have waited till next year to stage the meeting when all the riders are fit and available, would that suit you?

  9. I mean the amount of time people keep bringing the issue of it being russia but nobody dares to speak of the issues that Ukraine bring is laughable. Media loves to make everything about Russia but if you actually see the drama Ukraine have brought and more shockingly how disgusting their people treat Poland as a country when they were given free housing, food, cars etc but still attack Polish people, attack Polish traditional, break Polish transport and hold signs at concerts saying “death to poles” but nobody moans when Ukraine are allowed into the speedway World Cup? Media agenda and targeting is a joke, politics in sport and as a whole is a joke, English people moan about these migrates but still think Ukraine is treated unfair. Nobody has been shown on English TV the city that is ‘war stricken’ in Ukraine but has now rebuild a brand new super night club with the funding from European money? Google Ibiza club Ukraine and see how fearful they really are this club was on its last legs but then had money from the war poured into it and renovated, it’s all on Polish news but you don’t see any of it in England, and be reminded that their president has bought two houses, one in Caribbean and one in Europe with your tax money.

  10. Lowest No 5 Averaged rider in the league. Oxfords 2nd heat leader with an average of 5.04. Yet Schroeck for the life of me usually gives him his 4 rides. Yesterday at Glasgow he scored 2 pts in his 1st ride. Then had 3 lasts yet he still got 4 rides!! Today was a prime example. He scored 5 from 4 rides yet Schroeck puts him in heat 15 ahead of Luke Killeen 11-1, Mitch McDiarmid 8 and Jorden Jenkins 7-1. Schroeck really is the biggest clown in the sport. How do people employ him?

  12. Dear BSN, Please don't show another Spires meeting this season as they're comical at this point.

  13. It’s only the Belle Vue fans who complain lol Hoping this will be the final … 2 closely matched teams and decent fans

  14. Definitely not passes on lap 1 are just the first part of the race settling down. I learned that this from a very experienced speedway mind on here.

  20. Speedway riders choose to call themselves professional nowadays because they have made no time through doubling up etc ,Also choosing to ride abroad . This means they can't hold down normal jobs. Back in the day when Speedway was a million times better, most riders had jobs and Speedway was their payed hobby. It's got way out of hand that even these ndl and lower standard even call themselves professional aswell.

  21. Absolutely correct IainB..I'm quite shocked that the Plymouth meeting survived with only two of their team available. It makes a mockery of speedway as a serious sport. I'm a rugby league fan of Workington Town, as well as the Comets, and I have always fought verbal differences with the fellow RL fans who ridicule speedway for so many reasons. One main weapon they'd use against me is the 'guest' system. For example Stoney guesting for a team challenging Comets for the title - how does that happen they ask. And it's so hard to convince non speedway folk it's acceptable (no it's not actually but hey ho) so at the next Town match I'll not supply them with Plymouth bullets to down me. Speedway is a great sport so badly organised.

  22. I get the context, my point is a sport, that wants to see itself as being taken seriously by the wider sporting public, should not be allowing teams to race for league points when there's only 2 of it's regular members riding. The fact that the rules allow this is why Speedway in the UK is in the state it is. Compare Speedway to a professional sport where their ruling body did step in: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/articles/cjeyz09313do

  28. Full credit to Leicester and they should do the double this year and well deserved it will be. Ipswich just aren't right at all this year, I really don't know what's happend to Doyley and Emil but they've both gone backwards. It was the reserves who got Ipswich to the top of the table and now they've lost one of them and JJ may not find his early season form again for the rest of 2025 when he does return.

  31. Can we be that bad again at Leicester? And last time at Foxhall we won by 18 and Fricke got 16 for them On that basis 8 points isn’t the worst However well done Leicester they are a good strong unit … be a travesty if this isn’t the final

  32. And that's a "negotiated down" contract..... You can see why the UK doesn't hold too much appeal for these lads and, for those it does, you can see why they say "how high" when their Polish paymasters say "jump!"... That contract, at just six points a match (£12k), is worth well over £400k a season... Add a few decent sponsors, and throw in Sweden and Denmark, and not a bad return is it?

  38. same convo happened last year after getting hammered on aggregate against the challenging teams, same happened in 2022 when we won the play offs in 2021 when Peterborough won, we beat them 4 times out of 4 in league, then play offs they beat us so while yes, i think this is the year that we probably wont change our fortunes, you cant write us off just yet, play offs are a different animal

  44. Just caught up with the meeting stream. Congratulations to Plymouth for getting so close to winning with such a patched up and below strength side. Redcar should feel disappointed they only won by two. Thomsen was doing well until his falls. Barker will be out for a while so more guests needed for future meetings. Looks to be a great atmosphere and well fun club down there, seemed to be plenty of fans in, well done!

  45. You can tell the difference when a Northside meeting finishes and ones that did at Derwent Park. So now everyone heads for the various car parks, there's not many on foot. But at Derwent Park traffic was held up while pedestrians, lots of them in the good times, blocked the bridge exit for vehicles (apart from the those who went to the bar of course). And DP is only 150 yards from the railway station. Northside a longer trek but well worth the effort folks.

  47. Lots of questions going into this. Can Dan Thompson re find his early season form, Will Edward’s best his opposite number & can Brennan find some consistency. The Witches should pick up the bonus point but at the moment seem to have found some inconsistency & are certainly making hard work of things at time. For Leicester the big question is how will Becker far. Should be a good match fingers crossed the Witches find their early season form.

  48. You are Clark Osbourne, and I claim my 5 pounds. (one for the youngsters there). Remember the idiots who said Workington would never be back? Remember the fools who thought Belle Vue's NSS could never be built? Remember the dumb-dumbs who thought Oxford would never re-open. Speedway tracks may come and go, but there will always be nobheads like the above.
