Think you'll have to go to Holsted if you want to see Knudsen.5 points

Perhaps it is to help Sheffield For them to agree for it to be a reserved date for the semi surely they would have to have the stadium owners on board and that would likely be at a cost If the date isn't required to complete the semi final then that would be a wasted expense unless the league fixture fills the space Therefore this seems like sensible planning to me4 points

Can't understand these points, if Poole are as bad as you've made out, how did they finish 2nd in the qualifying league? Would a terrible team not be fighting Scunthorpe for the wooden spoon? Besides this team could still win the treble!3 points

A huge future indeed, but for perspective the last two 16 year old who made such a stellar impact were Drew Kemp and Jordan Palin. PS. On what I've seen this year he could soon be overtaken by Cooper Rushen and that may take some of the pressure (which has been immense) off him which can only be good for his development.3 points

From a business point of view I agree with this statement. If I was a promoter I would opt out of the BSN streaming, in the last few weeks there has been four sometimes five presenters/comentators at a meeting. I'm sure they are not doing it for there health. Discovery have a team of four and maybe five times the budget, so two would be a enough. From a fans point it is good value but having less presenters would mean money going to the clubs, which is what is needed. Smacks of jobs for the boys taking money out of the sport, a bit like this Speedway Futures Ltd will do.2 points

Yes good performance, very weak opposition though, Heeps should have cleaned up at reserve but was poor, doubt he will be there next season.1 point

Itās down to having a legitimate competition that captures the imagination. This then starts to build crowds that then starts to build atmosphere & then it self builds as people talk & want to get involved.1 point

Not great that they previously promoted the 2023 & 2024 SGP's at Cardiff, 2023 being the near disaster that they unbelievably won FIM Speedway Local Organiser of the Year prize for. As far as I could tell it received pretty much zero promotion. Hopefully they'll be more invested now they're running the whole shooting match, at least they're starting from a pretty low base after the WBD years, so the only way should be up... let's see what the future brings.1 point

You reckon? They have very strong reserves in Heeps and Knudsen. They should clean up, especially Heeps.1 point

Think yourself lucky you finished second. Cut out the moaning. Lots of other clubs would love to swap places with that position. If Poole have had an underpar season just feel sorry for all the other clubs who are below them in the table.1 point
 -
Itās about expectation. Poole are expected to be at the top but I understand your point. Yes we could clean up, though not likely. Watching this years Poole team has been a struggle. Where is the flair? Yes the team has come second but the racing the majority of the time has been flat and a bit lacklustre. Only Richard Lawson nd Anders Rowe have excited. Cook has blown hot and cold and the rest a bit meh.1 point

Personally I think was unnecessary, he was signed on a 2.00 average so no surprise he'll score 2 points (or less) in some matches. Obviously shows he has great belief in himself because he expects more of himself, but just hope he doesn't put too much pressure on his own shoulders. Maybe that's an issue with Poole, fans, riders & management all expect to win. Rides going to a team that generally struggles, probably won't have the same pressure on them?1 point
 -
I would say the same for Rowe if he has any ambition. A berth in a lower tier Polish league would surely benefit him more than another year in the Championship.1 point

At least ashton had a good go and did well, unlike many many riders that plug away each season and never improve.1 point

Spot on. Before a wheel was turned this season we knew the team was not good. At first I couldnāt believe the rumours of Starke and Kerr. When they were proved to be true, some of us stated at the time it was a terrible lineup and so it proved. The team has huffed and puffed itself to the playoffs. Starke proved to be a poor signing with crap performances and no spark to his racing. A mobile chicane sorry to say. Some will point to his average but nearly all riders who were better in previous season occasionally turn the clock back and have a few good meetings. Starke has flat lined through the whole season. I have been harsh on Kerr. He canāt pass wind. Early season he was diabolical, gradually improving from mid season, but his equipment is not up to the job and he regularly gets engine failures, costing us and because of this we have lost matches away from home. He was good overall last night except for one race where he just followed around Milford nit even getting close. Agree we should keep Lawson, who has aged like fine wine. He has just got better and better. Quite remarkable for a rider who was just thought of as a standard mid order journeyman for the majority of his career. At the peak of his career right now when most riders of his age are on the wind down. Anders Rowe has much improvement in him. I feel next season is going to be a big one for him. We see a potential top rider in there at times. Needs more consistency, which will come I feel sure. Will Cairns is so young, many forget. Think a very young Dan Thompson with more potential. He is aggressive, but extremely raw. Needs plenty of time and worth giving him it. Zack Cook has his eyes on the premier league to the detriment at times to us. Perhaps he should quit the Championship do his own thing. Tobias deserved his place this season and at times has shown to be a match winner but he has hit his ceiling. No improvement left and time to move on. Another club would pick him up. For the first time in years the team building was wrong. Itās impossible to be winners every season and to be honest itās good for the league that the title is shared around, (though not as a Poole fan) We are not out of it yet, and ride normally well at Redcar, though it needs all riders to step up to make it through to the final. A very hard task against a Bears team who battled for every point.1 point

I was assuming it would be called off, but the forecast I saw shows no rain in Oxford today, so fingers crossed. Some of the Pirates (Tobias, Starke, & Will) looked a bit rusty last night I thought, probably down to not having ridden for a bit, so should be a bit sharper tonight.1 point

Well done to Redcar for keeping it so close. Packed in for those second and third places to keep the score close. Hard racing at times which is what we want to see in play off speedway. Scott has come of leaps and bounds since last year, fantastic future if he can keep that going. As I said in May and June, come the business end of the season the same riders will let us down when it mattered and they havenāt failed to deliver, all Iām going to say is apart from Lawson, Rowe and Cairs the rest can turn the light off and shut the door on the way out for 2026, far too inconsistent all year. We can go to Redcar and win, but itās going to be a massive ask.1 point

The East of England Showground development is now in limbo after a key legal agreement (Section 106) was not signed by EEAS/AEPG, missing yet another crucial deadline. As a result, the proposals will return to the Planning and Environmental Protection Committee on October 21st, with both applications expected to face a recommendation for rejection. The future of the site remains uncertain. For speedway supporters, there is still a potential way back ā but if this latest twist plays out as reported, it should be seen as a battle won rather than the end of the war. As Brattersā post highlights, this is a moment to take heart ā but not to let our guard down. There are still plenty of concerns and questions in the article, and history shows we canāt trust this lot further than we can throw them.1 point

Abbreviated accounts are not very informative so it is hard to be certain. I suspect note 4 and accounting policy 2.6 of the amended 2023 accounts are the key. Or alternatively it may be mis-accounting for transfer of BSPA funds into BSPL in 2020 (is there a fund where members bonds are held that was not initially included?) But I also note that 2020 was covid year, so could it be mis-treatment of deferred TV rights income? How about covid loans that subsequently were converted into grants without the change being reflected in the accounts? My question is what is that £200k plus in stock? Iām not necessarily talking about the racing. The Portsmouth Southampton football match that was screened on ITV was as dull as dishwater. In fact quite a lot of live football I have seen has been uninspiring & certainly not highly entertaining for the majority of matches as you would think for a sport that is dripping in money. Itās the product people want to be involved with the entertainment value of the spectacle is secondary. Get the competitions & the overall product right.1 point

I'm intrigued to know what people think they should be paying to watch professional sportsmen, including some of the best in the world ? As well as watching speedway, I am a regular at stock car racing and football. My football team are in League 1 (3rd tier), and the match day ticket price is £30. Stock car racing, depending on the formulas racing as there are different levels, varies generally from £20-25. When it is a bigger meeting, such as the British Championship or the European the the prices is closer to £30, and this weekend is the World Championship with advance tickets at £42 and on the day price of £48. In comparison to this, I don't think that £25 is too high a price for top league speedway, and would expect an increase for the play off semis and final.1 point

Always good for a laugh the "SCB" you could not make it up , they were incompetent when I attended speedway and haven't improved. Their grammatically incorrect statement shows the completely amateur disorganised shower that are allegedly controlling the sport. "The SCB Referee at the Kent fixture had been informed that Mr Foord was unavailable for this fixture and having consulted the SCB had at that time had correctly allowed a facility, however on further investigation this should not have been authorised and the score of the guest for Cooper Rushen will be deleted from the meeting result." So referee consulted the SCB and they had allowed the facility. (they repeated HAD twice for avoidance of doubt !) "on further investigation" they changed their mind ! you cannot do that !!! amateur hour !!! the score of the guest for Cooper Rushen ???? what ???? I thought Cooper Rushen was THE guest rider ??1 point
