Have had BSN for my elderly parents for the last 4 years and can't fault it for the cost, yeah had a few teething problems with some streams from time to time when it first came along but its got better year on year tbf, my parents who are both 85 love their speedway and have been going regularly to local tracks since the Norwich speedway days, and were season ticket holders at Ipswich, Lynn, P'boro and Mildenhall for many a year before Covid stuck, it's just an easier option for them these days then driving to a meeting and having to sit about in all weather's at their age.8 points

The 4 team league to be run in September & October with the top 4 going to the semi finals6 points

I look at streaming as an opportunity to see away meetings. I’m self employed so taking a whole day plus fuel to attend an away meeting is quite costly. Streaming has its place, I don’t think I can justify travelling away but I’m happy to pay to watch it on my tv.5 points

It is a bit curious though, isn't it? The last time i went to Cardiff I paid £18 (early bird price). And the place was more than half empty which lead to no more GPs there. I have to say though that I went to the Friday meeting at BV last year and as we left I did say that the meeting we'd just seen was a real candidate for the best GP ever. Perhaps real fans want to see real racing eh? [edit] P.S. I've just bought two day tickets for this year.4 points

You do have to wonder what the hell is going on, the silence is worrying, have both deals fell through and they don’t have a league ? Mayfield for me are doing themselves no favours if they are taking over Ipswich and in the GPs and the silence from the bspl is staggering, this can’t drag on any longer it needs sorting now, despite all the issues involved in getting it to work they should of gone one big league this year3 points

CL didn't worry too much about change when he put together, clearly, the best septet by far last year did he? Nor did he worry too much about Birmingham when he made them weaker by signing Tom Brennan as a third heat leader did he?... The time for change was a long, long time ago... CL, and others, have had plenty of time to make those changes... However, they chose, season after season, to not make any...2 points

If Ipswich is a cert then there is no reason a fixture list can’t be put out with TBA for potential Northampton meetings, if then Northampton doesn’t happen supporters will understand, for season tickets just add a play off or some other meeting or 2 into the season somewhere2 points

Agreed... But those still within it will also be losing what is left of their much stretched, and taken for granted, patience...2 points

BringBeesBackToCoventry @KeepBeesOnTrack · 2h UPDATE… A massive THANK YOU as we have already exceeded the 1,530 responses for last year’s local consultation. We want as many as possible by March 6 to finalise our response. Please e-mail info@savecoventryspeedway.com quoting your name, address and support for policy W1B.2 points

The first half of your post clearly explains why Nicholls would sign on his Champ converted ave. So I was surprised for you to then get it the wrong way round at the end? Nicholls most recent MA is his 2025 Plymouth one, so that's what's used - for both leagues.2 points

Pretty much the same was said last year. And they came pretty close to selling out both nights.. I suppose if they do the same again, then their pricing has been proved correct...2 points

Clubs charge per meeting. Paying for a single BSN meeting is similar price to the clubs stream.2 points

Stifles aspiration, and ambition, and is clearly open to manipulation.. If must be quite annoying for a rider to miss out on a team place by a few decimal points, knowing one of his team mates last year let him finish in front of him, which, ultimately put his average "too high"... Even more so if a "bonus point king" gets the place he could have had!!!2 points

I'd say that the only thing to predict at the moment is... Will there actually be a Premier League... And if so will it contain 4,5 or 6 teams... The silence is deafening... and the contempt with which the supporters are dealt is off the charts...2 points

I said this on the speedway 360 podcast back in December, if we were a mainstream sport we be crucified in the media over this, luckily we are not so nobody is seeing it in all it’s catastrophic glory1 point

Totally agree. But some posters on here just think we are impatient and negative.1 point

I don't think it is. The most recent MA is used, that's clear. His most recent MA is from the Championship in 2025. If the most recent MA is one from both leagues, so for example with Chris Harris for this year, his championship average applies in the championship and his premiership average applies in the premiership. To me that's really clear.1 point

Maybe the delay is down to the quality of team that now can be put out? Have they had certain agreements in place to ensure they don't end up cannon fodder, like so many late arrivals have ended up being down the years? And that now isn't happening? Or, is their last rider also possibly in the Northampton conundrum, so they are awaiting an outcome there..? Whatever the reason, it is (yet another), poor look for UK Speedway...1 point

Defended him but Chris Louis has to take the brunt of the blame now imo. Basically a spur of the moment Club sale that's caused this clown show to drag on and on to a point where it's had an impact on the entire League. He should've put together a 1-7 and remained the owner for 2026 and allowed proper time for a sale to go through. Instead it's all been a very messy job in a race against time, Every statement just results in continuous delays and it has caused Mayfield to be a rabbit in the leadlights whilst leaving Ipswich as a Club on the backfoot. It has also had a knock on effect for the entire League where nothing has been confirmed in regards to League Structure and Fixtures to a point where nobody can get some much needed early season funds in by shifting some season tickets because nobody knows how many bloody fixtures they'll have at Home.1 point

This statement was on February 11th. That was 16 days ago... 🙄 This means that the sale of the club can now be completed, and this is expected to happen over the next couple of weeks.1 point

Regarding price just had info off a friend who is going to the lodz GP and ticket price is £106 for 2 meetings GP and GP 2 so £125 for 2 GPs is similar price1 point
-
That’s my point really, it’s not so much the price, it’s what am I getting for that price ? Cardiff was a great day out as you say and imo should of moved to a new venue a few years before its demise, the GP for me should be something different, an experience, I’ve booked Poland again this year and if I’m honest I get more of a buzz from the experience of the league matches before and after the GP but even on GP day the towns are buzzing, belle vue is literally just a meeting and that’s it and as much as the racing is great I can get that experience on a league match there for a third of the price, I hope it’s a success again and hopefully a sell out but it’s just not for me I want something different1 point
-
... but at what price? Any price? P.S. I got my 2 dayer too, standing, would never pay that price to sit 👍1 point

Bought 3 adult tickets in Block A in North Grandstand,Just need the bookie now to pay for them lol1 point

Those prices are absolutely disgusting. I was at the FA Cup final in May and my four year old nephew’s ticket in the south stand cost £40. That same ticket would cost £69 at the British SGP… but he wouldn’t get a seat. He wouldn’t even be able to see FFS. Are these idiots for real?1 point

At the time Dickson would have asked for an EGM, the Directors were messrs Godfrey (Chair), Bates, D. Ford and Louis. Ford resigned on 6/1/26. Louis resigned on 18/11/25. When the post-AGM statement was made, the Directors would have been messrs Godfrey (Chair), Bates, Campbell, Lemon and Lyon. The latter three were appointed on 9/1/26. BSPLtd has no shareholders, but i'm guessing it has "members" who can presumably vote, but how much clout do they have in reality - maybe in practice some more than others?1 point

A bit harsh.... He was only one month out.... Not a bad effort really when it comes to the history of Speedway promoting in the UK.....1 point

You can't make it up. Got an official email off belle Vue yesterday saying tickets going on sale Friday 27th march 😧 got another email today saying sorry we got the date wrong should be 27th February1 point

We must surely be approaching the point where they say it's too late to get this done. This waiting isn't fair on the riders, it's not fair on the other clubs who have declared they're running but can't get properly organised, and most importantly it's not fair to the supporters who can't be blamed if they decide that after the farce of this winter it's finally the time to walk away from the sport. I hope Northampton do start. The circumstances in which it happens isn't ideal but it would still be exciting to see a new track enter, and wouldn't it be great if we were all here in 7-8 months time looking back at a successful first season. But you can't keep everyone waiting around forever, there has to be a deadline.1 point
-
Ahhh, but.... You need to use such a highly scientific system like rider averages because it means that every season, every team, starts the season almost completely equal... Well. Apart obviously from those teams who get named on here, before a wheel is turned, as a shoe in for the play offs, or, alternatively, correclty named as spending the season as complete and utter cannon fodder... It works so well doesn't it?..1 point
-
So.... Basically, promoters thought that an authentic and relevant league, that had some resonance, and ran during the warmer months, would negatively impact their unauthentic, and largely irrelevant league, with minimal, if any, resonance, (that they would still run), using the colder months too?... In summary... "This product would deliver what many fans want, and would engage them to attend, but then they wouldn't turn up to watch the usual contrived stuff we cobble together each season".. They probably wouldn't be wrong would they?1 point

Works out at £5.66 a meeting to watch speedway from both leagues, similar price of a pint, but I'm sat at home watching speedway bargain if you can afford it 😀1 point

A sport, in the UK, simply set up for a few dozen riders so they can earn money... And set up so some people, with enough money, can have an expensive hobby which they love being a central part of... The fans being invited along to help subsidise the costs, and keep them within reason for the person whose hobby it is... UK Speedway is no more than this.. The BSN package looks excellent value for money for "generic fans", who just enjoy watching Speedway without bothering too much who wins and who doesn't.. Hope they have a good season with plenty of subscribers.1 point
-
Agree with the ‘live’ sentiment but that is becoming increasingly more costly and those with limited disposal income will forsake that and frankly with the way some meetings are drawn out, I would suspect many would rather be at home than standing on a chilly terrace in stadiums with poor facilities, expensive food and drink plus toilets that are some of the worse you can find and you can have all that for an entry fee of £20+. That’s probably why some people no longer attend because the supporter is a secondary inconvenience to the people who run the sport. Just look at the way they have conducted themselves in the close season.1 point

Let’s get things in perspective, he’s been around British amateur meetings for quite a few years, rode in a few second halfs and would struggle to hold down a NDL team place so let’s not call in Trumps ICE army just yet.1 point
