You’re posting pics of the track before any work has taken place and declaring it a death trap! They know what needs to be done to make it a speedway racetrack and like every other track in the country it will be subject to a full independent inspection before it’s granted a license from the SCB. It amazes me, most people said this had no chance of happening, even suggested the 6th team was made up for the BSPL press release. And yet when it is announced, rather than be happy that we have a new team in the league and we have a premiership of 6 teams, everybody can’t wait to mock it or tear it to shreds before it’s even opened. And you wonder why there isn’t a lot of people willing to run/keep a speedway track going for us?10 points

This is literally the same as posting a picture of a field before the new Workington track was laid and saying "it's a bit bumpy at the new Worky track" 🤣6 points

If that was the case the sport would be in a far better place than it currently is lol.6 points

Good news KENT EAGLES SPEEDWAY 2026 After a recent management re structure, and the separation of Kent Eagle Speedway Club and Sussex Eagles motorcycle club, it gives us great pleasure to announce there will be speedway action at Iwade stadium this year. After such a successful 2025 we needed to come back for another season, and we can all breathe a sigh of relief as this will happen now. Unfortunately we are not racing under the SCB though, but will run under the NORA banner for 2026 with 6 home meetings proposed. We hope all of our fans will continue to support us for another season of awesome racing. We will be putting together an exciting team ready to do battle with our opponents. Further details will follow soon on the structure of the meetings and potential opponents shortly. Look forward to seeing you all soon. David Graveling Emily Humphrey3 points

Ryan and Luke both raced in yesterdays amateur meeting, and both put in some very impressive performances, especially Ryan pulling off some fantastic moves to beat Jake Mulford three times, and recording a time of 59.36 too!2 points

Ok... so will they refund the donations when they get the insurance payout in a few months time...? If not... maybe every track should arrange for a few local vandals to pay a nocturnal visit... and then get the damage paid for twice...2 points

No you haven't. There is no fence standing on the second bend. The most damage done by a crash was having to replace 1.5m of fence not an entire bend. It would be lovely to see you at the stadium when the request for fans assistance goes out.2 points

Looking forward to this. Will be good after the crap winter to watch some Speedway again. Fingers crossed for decent weather and a good turnout.2 points

I want to share this disgusting comment for all to see before this individual decides to edit it or remove it. Name calling is one thing. Telling someone to go and kill themselves has no place on this forum. I had a friend who took their own life as well.2 points

Can we all be on our best behaviour please we don't want to scare off our new friends from Northampton 😉😁1 point

Worky and most clubs had kids for a quid or free in school holidays, now thanks to some sponsors comets are running this all season,1 point

Diamonds Select 1-7 named: Danny King, Simon Lambert, Connor Mountain, Victor Palovaara, Lewis Kerr, Kyle Newman, Alfie Bowtell. There will also be some Vintage races involving Jade Mudgway, Stu Swales & Stu Robson + one other who's name I didn't get !1 point

Well said MM. Seems a lot of people come on here just trying to pick holes in everything. Probably goes against the grain for them when there is some good news for once. Get a glass half full is what I say and yes, although I'm an optimist, I'm also a realist.1 point

All that is easily fixed. The cost of doing it is a bigger issue. There's a long time from now until the tapes go up. try to look at things with a more can do attitude not for reasons not to do it.1 point

The tractor tyres are not the problem as they are easily moved. The issue is the grass you can see behind them as that is raised several feet above track level with a plate fence on the track side, and there is no inner kerb so the shale is right up to the plating.1 point

Seems like once a week for us. 🙄 They call this progress????? 🤬 About sixty years ago, I could post a letter in the morning, and it would be delivered in the afternoon as long as it was local. 🙄🤬1 point

I think the actual raceway, and the level of racing, is very much down the priority list for the BSP... Just getting a new track gives them a working example of the sport not being in terminal decline, as many seem to point out, especially developers wanting to build on land that currently has a track... A new track can be used to show the sport is still moving forward, and very much alive.... And it also provides potentially seven more DU places for riders who need two jobs, and helps the 2nd tier promoters, who desperately need these riders to have two jobs, otherwise they would have a much weaker product to sell... I would move those big yellow tractor tyres though...1 point

As I have posted elsewhere it has to be the Cobblers ….as is the Northampton Town F.C. The track itself looks like a death trap for speedway with short I beams supporting cables on the perimeter. Will need some serious upgrading to provide a safer raceway. It looks as flat as a board and is allegedly nearly 400m a lap.1 point

Take a breath, Arthur. I don’t know the bloke. But then again, I suppose from the lofty heights of your moral pedestal, we can't all be as flawless and beyond reproach as you, clearly. Stay perfect.1 point

I hpe it stays on TNT Sports (HBO Max by then) - and hopefully on the linear channels so it can be recorded. Discovery+ catchup is occasionally flakey1 point

FFS,, that's me put off already. He is totally the opposite of what's needed at a speedway meeting. Awful decision As for 25 quid,, wow,, they really are pushing the limits of what people are prepared to pay surely. Good luck to Northampton trying to attract new fans to watch on an untested track at that price1 point

The Northampton rugby team are known as the Saints so that might have local appeal and has a speedway pedigree.1 point

A compulsory purchase order (CPO) is not generally referred to as merely "attempted" in a legal sense, but rather it goes through a four stage process where it is made, objected to, confirmed, and then executed. It is considered a last resort, and the acquiring authority must prove they have attempted to acquire the land by negotiation beforehand. Only Brandon Estates are likely to make an objection which given the history of rejected planning and appeal only the price offered could be grounds for such an objection. The valuation is determined by a chartered surveyor, usually appointed by the acquiring authority based on the "market value" of the land as if it were sold by a willing seller on the open market, excluding any future changes in value caused by the intended future use.1 point

Went to Foxhall for the Bank Holiday meeting last August. It was absolutely packed, I ordered my tickets in advance with 2 free kids tickets which saved 16 quid. Excellent organisation on arrival to collect the tickets. And afterwards was still able to buy hot food nearly an hour after the last race. Hats off to Spedeworth as the proof is in the pudding.1 point

If speedway manages to get even half the amount of supporters that the stock cars get there then the new club will have no concerns at all and will be a successful addition to the top flight.1 point

I do wish they'd consider a season ticket that doesn't quite cover all the matches....I'd more than happily buy one this season if it was for 10 of 12 regular cup and league meetings perhaps for the price of 9 - I can rarely get to all the meetings in a season but if it allowed me to miss a couple I'd buy one!1 point

Well I'm a Kings Lynn supporter and I've just donated. I hope they manage to get the damage sorted and maybe up their security as well?1 point

The answer indeed appears an obvious one.... However, they simply don't have the money to improve the standard, nor market the sport... Although I should say they do have money (a quite considerable sum will be spent), but they choose to spend all of it on riders rather than promotion and marketing.... The sport is now down to how many attendees? 20,000 average (at most), at the 14 clubs across the country, collectively, last year? That is too far off the radar of the general public now to ever deliver an "Elite" offering, given the considersble costs involved of doing so... The sport is basically set up for a few World Class riders to live over here, and top up their Polish earnings with a circa high five figure/low six figure package, and then let "experienced average riders" earn two salaries, which, combined will be a very decent sum. And, at the lower end of teams, give young UK lads and overseas young lads an opportunity to see if fhey can go further up the ladder.. With the Promoters being happy to run at the level all are, as they know "speculating to accumulate" won't provide much "accumulation" given the (lack of), rewards on offer... It is really only the fans that would suggest the sport is "broken", and make suggestions to improve it.... I very much doubt the Promoters, (who are all obviously quite content with their lot, hence nothing changes), think there are any issues at all...1 point

Ford is spot on planning needs to start now , I know he's marmite but I personally think if he was made the big chief the sport would be in a way better place than it is now. Harry and co need to come up with something when did they come on board Nov 2025 ? from memory and all we have had so far is Linda L in what looked like a travel lodge room filming herself with a paper bag pulling out names for the ko cup which hasn't resulted in the ten's of thousands of lost fans heading back and Linda probably copped at least a grand for ten minutes work. I'm leaning towards keeping two leagues but unless a 500k plus sponsor is found, we know the current top league format isn't financially feasible personally think an eight team top league would need to be current championship standard, second division teams of seven a couple of old hands per team Rambo Lambo, Ben Barker etc, 3-4 English youngsters (under 24) and allow a couple of possible foreign rough diamonds in also ideally Aussie and USA who having no formal home league structure might stick around a while longer than the Danes and Swedes. If a second division team could be moulded to the type of 1-7 Lynn juniors had last year with say a couple of decent under 24 foreign youngsters per team might keep interest at current levels. I really hope its not all kicked until Nov plus this year with the old fingers crossed format that something might turn up.1 point

Whilst I’m appalled by this vandalism, this go fund request doesn’t sit well with me. This is why we take out insurance on things we own. Clubs take advantage of supporters enthusiasm and their voluntary efforts throughout every season, which is why I think the club is pushing their luck in this situation.1 point
