Also, well done both teams for making the final again. It was looking sketchy earlier in the season.6 points

Criminally underused as top publicity for our beleaguered sport when he was at the height of his powers. Brilliant career. Even better fuc*in dj…😁5 points

Come off it mate. Kvech had the corner, Doyle has just sent it and hoped for the best, made contact with Kvech and he’s came down. Pretty sure if you were in Kvech’s position there you’d have done the exact same thing.4 points

Doyle 😂 a desperate move from a man over the hill, and then he has the front to moan about it. At least he didnt injure Kvech this time.4 points

We’ve not seen this much overtaking in the first few races for years.4 points

Not a huge shock but I am glad he is walking away from the sport on his own terms best wishes for long and happy retirement .4 points

That was clearly Doyle fault, yet Olly Allen tries to blame the other rider. He’s done that a few times, either poor eyesight or as you say he’s biased.3 points

Glasgow deserve to lose this picking Kemp to ride at number 1. A pathetic rider with a piss poor attitude.3 points

He isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I love him and he’ll always be my favourite speedway rider. Charisma, personality to burn, controversial, outspoken…everything speedway needs and is sadly lacking in the Grand Prix at the moment. His absence in the current series is a huge void they will struggle to fill. Most important of all though, he was bloody quick on a speedway bike and is our greatest ever rider. While I’m gutted I’ll never see him race again, I’m happy he has retired safe and sound and on his own terms. His body has cried enough and he at least seems at peace with his decision. He can now spend time with his wonderful family and make a name for himself on the DJ scene. Thanks for the memories Tai, we’re going to miss you. ❤️3 points

I thought it was an decent meeting, I would certainly sooner watch a meeting from this track than Ipswich, Northampton, Sheffield, Oxford, Plymouth or Poole. It was not a dust a bowl, neither was it over watered, you saw clean passes after the 1st/2nd bend on both the inside and the outside throughout the meeting.3 points

It's because Paulco, who normally did it, got fed up with peope with multiple user names posting rubbish he got fedup with the forum and doesn't even look at it now3 points

So who would be better? Always laughable when I read about certain riders shouldn’t be in the Grand Prix when clearly and by some way they are the ones of the best 15 riders in the world…. Which Doyle is Maybe we should have some new youngsters…. Erm no thanks as proved by the Ukrainian they aren’t good enough Doyle isn’t as good as he was obviously but only 1 person can be world champion and in any season riders have to come 10th-15th …. Doesn’t mean they aren’t deserving of a place If you think riders like Doyle and Fricke shouldn’t be on the gp then tell me who should be2 points

Sorry, but thats complete rubbish. Loram, Havelock, Tatum, Screen, Louis, Smith, Morton, Collins and Craven were all much better than Woffinden2 points

Fair play Thomsen, brilliant ride. BZ too concerned about Lambert, luckily for him m it wasn't Kurtz round the outside. Lambert will be disappointed but he looked properly world class this evening and is starting to develop some consistency. And he picked Zmarzlik off twice.2 points

I don't think it was as straightforward as that, yes there was contact, but Kvech made no effort to stay on!2 points

Always divided opinion off the track, but an outstanding speedway rider. Was thrilled when he became a Wolves asset in 2006 and one of my favourite memories will always be the 2009 play off final win against Swindon, which both Tai and his dad (despite being seriously ill by that time) played a huge role in. Absolutely the right decision though. Tai had nothing left to prove.2 points

It is irrelevant what anyone thinks, it will be postponed if England beat Norway. The only sensible thing to do.2 points

Apologies if I've missed this elsewhere... Tai Woffinden has announced his retirement from professional racing. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaplrQmuvK2/?igsh=MWhtam1kYjZvb3Uzaw==2 points

Seriously who's going to watch a football match on TV, when you could go to speedway: to see, hear, smell, feel the shale on your face, and enjoy the banter. No contest in my mind!2 points

I think I’m at the point with speedway now where I don’t care about home advantage. I think the best possible track prep for overtaking should be undertaken for each race. I would rather see multiple overtakes and great racing than gate and go and the home team wins. If you are a good enough team you should be able to win on whatever track if it’s prepared correctly and for racing.2 points

Tremendous level of sour grapes there, kudos To say there was no passing is nonsense Heat 4, Thomson gets third on the line almost second Heat 6 Grahn and Foord passed and repassed Heat 9 Paco on Allen Heat 10 Dan on Allen heat 14 Edwards on Cluff, Paco on Scott Heat 15 all 4 riders changed position at one point or another With a few other exciting enough races thrown in with Klindt buzzing about Thompson in 13 amongst them I’m not saying Armadale is gonna be confused with Belle Vue or Bydgoszcz anytime soon but to say there was no passing is laughably wrong.2 points

Couldn’t agree more with you. I’ve banged on about this before but been told it’s not possible. Obviously too complicated this speedway business. To think they found a covid vaccine in a couple of months….2 points

All this talk from the Ipswich promotion about 2027 being ‘the’ season makes me smile. The sport is on crutches in the UK and hobbles slower each year into the next season. If the Witches can assemble a decent team I hope for all of us that they are competing in a league that has some credibility.2 points

There was presumably a good reason why they changed from Dirt Track to Speedway in the early 30s. The longevity of the name suggests that it's been pretty effective. Any way, changing the name is akin to rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic, so expect the BSPL to be right on the case.1 point

Agreed the lack of old hand double uppers in 5-10 years will probably be a big factor in the end game if nothing changes. A great example of what you preach Mike is Lawson I think he it textbook for what a rider in the UK who won't quite reach the top should model himself on as a business plan for themselves recent events aside. Even if it turns out he is at fault as you say due to lack of any alternatives he's bullet proof if Ipswich give him the boot he will be snapped up by another team that have zero better options by the end of the week. In the perfect world we would have two leagues of eight once home and away to get away from seeing the same teams 5-6 times per season. If Poland got more interested in using the UK as a feeder ground and sent the under 24's here we could probably get a top league where ideally every one of the eight top teams have a gp rider , 2-3 under 24 promising youngsters and the other 3-4 team members could be old hands/second strings who could double up in league 2 also with UK youngsters which would give the old hands and youngsters enough meetings in the UK to make a living. I don't know the costs of running a speedway team but don't really get how Bomber with all the meetings he does a year can say he would be better off shelf stacking at Tesco's. The key thing would be 90% ideally would need to be UK based for the whole season we would accept that once the youngsters got decent they would be off but hopefully replaced by a new crop of riders looking to go to Poland later. At least if they were UK based you stand the chance of riding on the best night for getting maximum fans and would avoid the nonsense of going sometimes a month between home meetings. Can you imagine going into dragon's den and saying we have this product that in its rawest form is super exciting but we intend to set it up on an unattractive night of the week for punters, go 2-4 weeks without a home meeting to lessen any chance of building a core fan base in the dryest months of the season, then we will look to hold the real money spinning events in wet months when its freezing, other than that where good to go.1 point

Well I’ll find out later this month as I’m at Glasgow, Berwick and Workington over a weekend. That’ll be six tracks for me this season. After that I’ll probably post a crapness scale on rider presentations at the tracks I’ve been to this season so Glasgow, Berwick and Workington now is the time to up your game!1 point

The main problem is the owner, he has his own ideas on what he wants to pay riders and he doesn’t compromise, that coupled with the fact he regularly falls out with riders, staff and supporters, makes it difficult and not just in putting teams together. It makes it very hard to achieve anything and frustrates his staff and fans, I never really understood why he ever went into the Premier League, he had a lot of success at Championship level but trying to run Premier League on a Championship budget is always going to be difficult with any success strictly limited.1 point

Unfortunately not all heats are there. But what is there shows it was certainly a very good meeting, and a real shame they couldn't be bothered to televise it.1 point

Not only that, but with a business account the bank charge you to pay in cash, take out cash, every card transaction and every deposit or ATM transaction, so not even cash is free from bankers greed ( if it goes into the system) Currently with my business account if I pay in £1000 cash it costs me £7.50p, if I get outside the bank ( what bank is still open)and decide I do not need the £1000 cash after all and pay it back in , it costs another £7.50p, so end up £15 down for nowt, if we can all take cash, pay out in cash, we cut the greedy b****rds out ! Santander was the last bastion of free business banking, but no longer £10.90 admin charge every month, .90p every cheque deposit ATM or card transaction, and fees for paying in cash which now is largely done with your card at the post office as they have shut most of their branches !!1 point

Mostly Poole fans having a go at other teams, been happening for years, it's not right but SOME Poole fans make a rod for their own backs and then moan when the boots on the other foot1 point

Never been a fan of Lawson … he isn’t well liked amongst the riders Ive heard as well and rubs promotions up the wrong way … im not one of these plastic fans who once a rider signs for you that you have to like … sure I want him to win races for us but I struggle to cheer him just something about his demeanour I’m not a fan of1 point
