  1. Jordan’s FB post I have been informed by the SCB today that I have been issued with a seven-day suspension, commencing from last Friday, which means I am unable to ride until this coming Friday. As people will be aware, I recently had to take some urgent time away from racing to undergo medical scans following concerns over an injury. Thankfully, those scans returned positive results, and I was cleared to resume racing. Since then, I have provided the SCB with the hospital sickness note issued to me on Friday morning, along with a fit-to-ride letter from the hospital dated yesterday, confirming that I am medically fit to race. Despite supplying all the relevant medical documentation, I was informed that I would not be permitted to guest for Poole tonight. I have since been told that, in order to avoid the suspension, I was required to have withdrawn from Wednesday’s meeting at Poole. However, I don’t understand how I could have withdrawn when, at the time, I had no reason to believe there was anything wrong. It wasn’t until I received a phone call the following day from the hospital that I became aware there was an issue that required further medical investigation. What I find most disappointing is that I was never formally informed that a seven-day suspension had been imposed. I have received no direct communication from the SCB regarding the decision, and my attempts to contact them by phone and message to discuss the matter have gone unanswered. I believe I have provided all of the necessary information to demonstrate that I am fit to race, and I am disappointed that I have been prevented from riding despite this. I would like to apologise to Poole and their supporters for being unable to take my place in the team as a guest this evening. 🚀 #JJ85

  2. To me that sounds like they have options for signings, but are happy to use guests as they feel they are stronger (perhaps not for long) and want to find the best rider available (obviously). So I don't see why the BSPL should grant am extension of the guest facility for Bowes in this instance. For a heat leader, I can understand clubs struggling for a replacement, but for a reserve, when there's options (Fredriksen, Bowtell, Morley) 28 days is long enough. But this should be for all teams, not just Poole.

  3. Oxford meeting last week. Heard it from two different people who never get stuff wrong.

  4. If you go back years ago, British League Teams would always have an up and coming National League rider as a number 8 who would drop in when British League riders were missing. Robert Hollingworth was No 8 for Lynn for quite a while, I seem to remember Chris Turner for Belle Vue, Might of been Nigel Flatman at Ipswich. In my opinion this worked well but it was reliant on the senior club having a good working relationship with the junior club who essentially were feeder clubs, and of course no doubling up (other than as a number 8 ) and very limited guests.

  5. chances are there will be a junior knocking around the pits anyway. maybe this is a good reason to have second halfs again, at least that way there is a reason for them to be there.

  6. Just thinking....... If the hospital hadn't called JJ back for what (fortunately) proved an unnecessary alarm, and he had continued racing over the past weekend, I'm pretty sure Berwick would have won at both Redcar and Workington. Rider replacement got 3 points and 5 points in these meetings -- I submit that the JJ we have seen since joining Berwick would have achieved considerably higher returns, and the whole picture in terms of Championship standing would be brighter.. But it is what it is, and although the hospital has been overly cautious in this instance, he was correct in not resuming until they gave the all-clear. Hey-ho.

  7. Ellis has the same average as Flint in the Polish National League, but is above Masters, Lawson and Jeppesen.

  8. Just when the team starts coming good they change it for the worse.

  9. He is fit He is not testing his fitness, he has taken a guest booking to earn money. It is a short season and not much of it left so why shouldn't he. Jason Edwards was saying about not having enough racing on tv the other day. He said ideally would like at least 3 meetings a week.

  10. I think you must have missed the point made in a previous post. He was released on licence with strict conditions. He knew what they were but still breached them and was returned to prison. He was then released again, and once more knew the conditions of his release yet still ignored them. And it wasn’t just being a little late for a curfew it was not being where he was permitted to be. There are many apologists on here for him but then there are those that were aware of his actions long before he committed the crimes for which he was jailed for a total of seven years and four months. And that is not a trivial sentence. It seems to me that he lacks all appreciation of right and wrong and, in my view, that is unlikely to change. Ever.

  11. So has Eddie fully recovered from his wrist injury and is fully fit? Asking for a friend......😂

  12. Don’t know what they are expecting from Ellis, didn’t hardly pull up any trees for Ipswich last year when at reserve, can’t see that improving when in main body of the team

  13. There should be a minimum standard for state of tracks, that there was god awful. 4 guys looking to ride within 1 yard of the white line or you’d go backwards. Weather hasn’t been that Hot for it to be in that state. If there was a minimum standard you’d hardly see a meeting round that place.

  16. A group of us used to sponsor Ben Howe when he first started riding at Ipswich, i actually bumped on Shaun Tacey a few wks back at a Mildenhall meeting and he still does grass track now and then.

  17. I have seen and spoken to him probably a couple of times in the last few years. He certainly isn't a regular like he was in the days of Wild Wayne and his posse,of which i was one😁.Did we have some great times back then.

  18. Especially for Poole's benefit! You would be the first to moan if it was the opposing team

  19. They are and in the instance the rules are daft. They are designed no doubt to stop people taking the P but Jordan quite clearly isn't trying to do that, nor was Cooper earlier in the season.

  20. I’m sure we would have been able to self destruct as usual.🤔

  21. Unfortunate for Jordan but rules are crystal clear on this one.

  22. Use OX4 2PG on sat navigation. Turn left off Watlington Rd onto Oxford Road. Note there are currently roadworks, which mean you currently can not turn right off Watlington Road when approaching from out of town[if the configuration is unchanged from last week]

  26. Yeah Ellis rode well for Ipswich round Foxhall last season

  27. They’re finishing bottom whatever so it makes sense to me. Neither Batchelor or Zagar are the future and neither will feature next year. Makes sense to get a couple in with a view to next season. Haven’t followed Ellis vigorously this year, but every time I check in and look at the Polish scores at the weekend, he seems to be top scoring and riding really well. I expect him to be a pain on Thursday, rides Foxhall really well.

  28. He was however very impressive at Wight last night. Three wins from the back (Morley twice and Southwick), and nearly a fourth (Butcher)

  29. Ben has endeared himself to the fans with his 100% commitment and bright happy personality However he is finding it tough in the championship and points are hard to get. I feel he's learning and improving every meeting and will have an important part to play at some point.

  31. It is a huge challenge and it might still fail but it’s worth fighting for. Earlier this year people were saying nobody would travel to Northampton from Coventry now they are apparently. Stock cars are a bit alien to me but don’t the fans follow the drivers around the country wherever geographically the meetings are .I assume there wouldn’t be a fixture clash between brafield and Brandon. BE have to agree to sell I get that and there’s the Rub, but at the moment all the planning arguments are with the campaign group. And there’s is the money allocated for refurbishment of the site. 34. I think compulsory R/R needs to happen too, and unattached riders from the Championship for reserves or a second rider missing from the tip five eg Kerr, Castagna, Wright, Barker, Palovaara, Mountain, Allen etc.

  35. It still makes me look twice seeing Northampton in a fixture list. Unreal.

  36. Tend to agree but a Play Off semi would at least bring a few quid into the coffers An enhanced attendance coukd also encourage Mayfield as to what is possible if they get the product right

  37. Agree.Think any sensible person would see that it was a racing incident. All this nonsense about” taking him out” is rubbish. Nick got it wrong and was excluded .End Off.

  39. Having seen the clash on BSN, my first instinct was that it was a very poor from Morris, I guess Zischke did lock up a little to give Morris the benefit of the doubt that it was just racing, rather than reckless. KJP deserves imense credit for avoiding the fallen riders, well done to him. He certainly scrubbed off the speed, better than Morris did, yes I realise they were taking different lines. No suggestion of a ban from me, just the exclusion from the heat for Morris.

  40. I haven't said he has tried to kill anyone, but his recklessness could hurt someone. As I said I thought the Kubera incident could have been so different for him.Same for Madsen in Manchester, the reckless riding of Woryna could have had a different outcome for Madsen.Luckily both Madsen and Kubera walked away from two avoidable incidents.

  42. A great days racing from Poland that had everything from nip and tuck racing to enthusiastic crowds. You could not ask for more as the riders never back off and chase every point. Thanks to all riders/teams for today’s entertainment and special thanks to those providing the links that enable us to watch great racing.

  43. I'm all for hard riding,it's his reckless and out of control riding from him I don't like. There's riders like Zmarzlik,Doyle,Lindgren who ride hard but 95% of the time they are in control of what they are doing. If there were 16 riders like Woryna in the GP's,you would probably only end up with half of them at the end of the series.

  44. Is this before he kills somebody?

  45. With Woryna there is definitely a middle ground, none of us like gaters and and he's worth ten Kuberas for example who bores me to tears, but at times he's reckless and dangerous and I dont want to be watching him wondering who he is going to have off next. He has a responsibility to the other riders to be safe and a little less unhinged. That said he rides lines that others dont and is a great watch when he's not out of control.

  46. The council are not entitled to say "on your bike" because of things supposedly said to the owner on social media, The council are there to sit and judge a company that ignored planning laws and went ahead and ripped out, demolished and built on the the track and stadium grounds that they had no permission to do. The council have to decide if the company is required to re-instate the stadium to the way it was when they got the lease no matter if they have an intention to run speedway or not. If this has to be done (which we all hope it will be on a matter of principle) then the next thing the council should look at is to see if they have broken the terms of the lease and if so could they legally invoke a clause in the lease and make it null and void and take the lease back and issue a order for the tender for the stadium lease on the open market once again?
