  1. I go to watch my team ride speedway win or lose, have seen glory days and bad days ( 1980) but its my team would never not turn up and there are lots like me,perhaps just not enough .

  2. A 44-46 defeat would be far more exciting than a 60-30 win imo.

  3. Not over yet for me. Just like you we also have Northampton away, and we only beat them by five at Foxhall so it’s conceivable we don’t even get a bonus point out of that. We also have Belle Vue at home and with our half @rsed number 1, Doyley will have a field day along with Kurtz. It’s possible we only pick up a further two points and that’s Sheffield at Foxhall on Thursday! I’d genuinely rather miss out and call it a day for this year because we have absolutely no chance against Belle Vue over two legs. We’ll inevitably get battered once again at the NSS. Of all the clubs in the league Lynn would probably make it the most interesting as a spectacle because you ride it better than anyone this year.

  4. Last season as a rising star so I honestly can’t see anyone picking him up as a senior reserve next year that’s for sure. Three man team tonight, excellent once again from our two standouts this year, King and Tobi, and also very good from the guest Rowe. The others, load of hydraulics really.

  5. Utter disgrace. Should have been sacked weeks ago.

  6. Don't know why lineups have not been posted as teams should be notified 72 hours in advance

  7. Good news John is still with us alive and well going to the odd meeting at Leicester. Yippee.

  12. For a good many followers "they don't care" about how their team are performing.. They will still attend as the sport is pretty much down to its die hards in many places, and many of them will attend, primarily, to watch the racing... You can't take it too seriously given the operating model used, therefore, many of those who attend will return the next meeting regardless of result.. Poole are very much an outlier as their crowds do shift significantly depending on how the team are doing, (which is magnified more given the higher crowd level starting point)... Hence the Ford's dropped down as they saw that the higher costs of tier one didn't guarantee a successful season, and an unsuccessful season, impacted their business. and, in tier one, that would be a much more expensive unsuccessful season... Their business model is pretty much perfect for UK Speedway, keep winning and their crowds will remain strong, and plenty of tier one riders will be on show every time they race, but at tier two salaries... They also seem to actually promote the sport well locally, which, again, is a bit of an outlier when compared to many clubs...

  13. Think you need to worry more about your own club than ours.

  14. Want to see some ambition with riders like Pollstad and Nagel or riders like that,, trouble is with Poland ruling the roost they will need a big pay check to make Britain one of the other leagues

  15. Same with the other reserve,, he hasn't improved in the last 3 seasons either, big shake up of riders needed for next season.

  16. Some good reading about your number 1 on the king's Lynn v Ipswich thread 😄

  17. I hope you’re on a wind up 😂

  18. To be fair to him, the No1 position at Ipswich hasn't been a big points contributor all season... And Lawson isn't really a No1 in the top tier, similar to how Tom Brennan also isn't... Juggling a full time job and starting your "other job" at various places around the country, at 730pm, must be a challenge from time to time...

  19. 3 points from the number 1. Be better off sticking to plastering

  20. A win for Plymouth will be to finish the meeting with no injuries, and Lawson not putting anyone through the fence. Result doesn't really matter our priority is the knockout Cup.🪖

  23. There ara a number of joint supporters of Reds and Comets, a couple have expressed their disappointment with this decision to myself personally. It is a somewhat unfortunate switch when the World Cup can be watched on catch up or recorded by those able to watch it.

  25. I'd have gone for Pickering, a lot more aggressive on all types of tracks than both.

  31. Agree with this but I think I read that the side had to be named by last Wednesday so this meeting won't have had any impact on selection.

  32. It was communicated that Erik can’t fly with his current condition, not that he can’t race. It does beg the question how was he expected to race in the UK, but as the Cheetahs season is now over why don’t we just put this one to bed and wish him well with his health. But not expect to offer a contract for next season. Chargers v Leicester was a good crowd and atmosphere yesterday, Oxford fans get your backsides trackside for the remaining 2 meetings when they’re announced 😜😁

  33. I am sure crowd levels would improve with a successful team, most fans of any sport want their team to win, your saying they don't care.
    1 point
  34. Someone from Poole said the crowd was down due to the A31 road closure, so people must travel from further away than Bournemouth, I do know several people travel from the Southampton area, so should we count another 250k people to the running total 😄

  36. Attended this today, first visit to High Edge, thankfully I picked a good day, glorious sunshine throughout. Staff were really welcoming, racing just ok, Simon Lambert took the spoils after being unbeaten in the heats and was pipped on the line by Jack Roberts in the semi, think he had a puncture. Lambert won the final, Dayle Wood 2nd and Jack Roberts 3rd. Nice blast from the past with Natalie Quirk presenting from the centre green, interviews with Chris Morton, David Gordon, Sam Ermolenko and the recovering Connor Coles, what a brave lad he is, I wish him well. Enjoyed the afternoon and will definitely visit again when I can.

  37. So Rowe of Sheffield guests FOR Ipswich after guesting AGAINST them for Leicester in the previous meeting His performance in each meeting will potentially affect who makes the play offs and in which position (including his own team) Just as well it means the lesser part of feck all in the scheme of things

  38. What's the difference between Vatcher and Nicki? Take out the 3x World titles, 4x World Cups and countless individual achievements, there's very little in it.

  39. Why would he want to ride in our dying league when he has better opportunities, better racing, better sponsors and better lifestyle riding in Poland where the sport is ran far better and by much more competent people. This is probably his final push before he feels he's getting towards retirement. Good luck to him I say.

  40. His better engine, his gating gloves, his will to win, in fact pretty much everything, he was no where last night. Only hope he can keep this form up on Friday.

  41. Probably more like dropping kennet so another team could not use him as a guest each week, but now he's signed for that old man's development league team it doesn't matter now

  43. This is something Nigel Pearson excelled at. Used to bang the drum for speedway and plug meetings at various tracks at every opportunity he could when he was commentating. Sadly missed.

  44. Govern and promote speedway better, make sure riders are available much more, vastly reduce guests, get the pricing right amd make fixtures more regular. Don't think the current management structure can deliver that so bring in somebody who can.
