I thought the GB lads all rode to their respective levels last night... Nothing too much was expected of them given the level of their opponents, and they delivered that expectation, and certainly didn't embarrass themselves... All were competitive, with Lambert showing that his World Class status is well deserved... With Bewley in the team they would have definitely been in the mix for Silver. Overall, I think they can all be satisfied in what they delivered, and, particularly effort wise, they didn't leave anything back in the pits...

Having had this post brought to my attention I shall respond. Firstly thank you for spelling my name right ! Secondly I will definitely NOT be getting involved in any speedway position at the club, I’m happy just being a spectator, thank you. Thirdly, speedway doesn't need ‘old’ promoters coming back, it needs NEW, FRESH IDEAS to try and get the sport back to the level it used to be at and an independent leadership to sort it out. Thanks, Kevin.

Tonight's news on Reid Battye, who has re-signed for Berwick in 2027 is really tremendous. Reid has had (generous) offers from other clubs to leave the Bandits, but will instead "dance with the one that brung him to the ball"

Was a good call,air fares ,other travel and medical costs would have all had to be paid if rained off with no income not many promoters these days take a chance on the weather.

In the company that team GB are riding it is unfair to criticise the riders. Yes they could have pulled a few different moves to gain points but they are riding the machines not us punters. I am not disappointed with the performance and Robert has shown that we can produce top quality riders. Special mention to Leon Flint who has put his heart and soul into the meeting. Overall a good contest and the guys have not let team GB down. Perhaps Scott should be the next manager of team GB.

Brennan - whose first name is TOM not Tim - is having a poor season and was only emergency back up. GB knew they were struggling without Dan and Tai. What extra do you think Brennan would have brought? And who would you prefer as manager? Middlo? No you have a chip on your shoulder about him. Pizzas and beer Rosco? Easy to criticise from your care home’s comfy chair but come up with something positive for once. And speaking of positives, well done Rob Lambert, overall top scorer.

Poole and Scunny win those semis pretty comfortably IMO. Then you'd have to fancy Poole strongly in the final, although what a story it'd be if Scunthorpe did it having been written off by all and sundry in March.

Think it is a good idea to hold it on a temporary track. Gives a level playing field. Well done Australia. No disgrace from Team GB they all put in a great effort. Would have given Brennan a ride just to see if he had a different approach.

Well done to Harry Fletcher on his debut tonight. Wasn’t a million miles off the pace, Berwick can be daunting on a first visit. Bit more experience and the lads going to be a good rider.

I would've given him a shot once they had fallen behind, nothing to lose at that point.

There has been a big step forward. Something has just clicked this year. The social media side, the racing. Interaction between crowd and riders, the chance of actually winning something. It’s a pleasure to watch and be part of. We are all so quick to criticise but credit where it’s due, and it is due. Well done to all at Berwick. And it’s not done yet.

Crowd levels has certainty been good and there is an atmosphere in the ground this season,the racing has certainly been more entertaining IMO.

Brilliant news. Reid isn’t just performing on the bike there are new fans turning up just to see him. And that’s exactly what we need. Does the business on track and makes a huge effort with people. Something has just changed this year the atmosphere in the ground has been incredible. Part of that is home wins part of it is the rider interaction with the paying punters. I do truly believe that Reid, fresh faced and doggedly determined to ride to the best of his ability is a huge part of that. Well spotted Dick.

Wonder if this was a “tactical” call off. Doyle has been guesting for Sheffield lately and with Belle Vue’s meeting postponed the night before, and him living in Norwich and obviously being a track specialist, I wonder if the Ipswich management got wind of him guesting. I’d be staggered if Sheffield hadn’t asked him. As it is, rerunning the meeting on the same night as all the other fixtures again forces Sheffield in to R/R

Nice to see him ignoring the approaches of other clubs who think they can poach hot prospects, instead of seeking & developing a promising newcomer themselves🙂

An exciting rider. Good to see him back with the Bandits. P.S. Glad he won't be off to any NORA meetings next year. He'd never live it down (or understand).

But don't forget the various Mickey mouse FIM U 21 and U 23 meetings to slot in at many weekends, look how many weekend meetings cairns Harrison and Rushen were required to do

You've completely and utterly missed the point! Guesting for a rival compromises the integrity of the competition. I have no issue with Sheffield, more with the system, my own club and the two riders. I don't imagine Fricke is bothered either way as he'll guest for Sheffield if Lynn don't make it.

The forecast in the 3 days leading up to the meeting was all over the place. At the time of call off it was very poor after looking like we would miss the rain the day before. It remained a poor forecast until Sat morning when there appeared a chance it may not be as bad. It was definitely the right call based on the information at the time, the BBC forecast proved once again to be nothing if not variable. It did rain later in the evening.

Thought Flint rode a lot better than 1 point, few silly mistakes but acquitted himself very well on the top stage for the first time. Ellis mistakes as well in scoring positions that he shouldn't be making with the experience he has. Wright had a great meeting, again felt like he scored more than he did as he was always in the mix. Woryna jumping off was an embarrassment. Lambert just oozes class at the moment, if he can win in Vojens then Torun could be very interesting. Wasn't the most exciting of meetings but there has been a lot worse at GP level, enjoyed it this morn

And that’s exactly why the speedway rule book is so cluttered. Every time a smart move occurs other jealous promoters devise a rule to stop a further occurrence. We desperately need independent control of our sport before it dies.

Lightcap would return on a 4 for next season if he doesn’t do enough meetings to attain an average. The cynic in me thinks he was introduced at the appropriate time to not attain an official average.

And he kept saying it was the biggest ever stage for the World Cup. Katowice 1974 might beg to differ.

After three heats it seemed like Berwick were going to throw last night's match, some come back from seven points down. Congratulations Bandits, bonus point well and truly won!

I must have imagined it when I watched them all race in the national league then. Riders always progress, rather than discredit the opposition, I prefer to give them credit and think it’s great to see riders like Luke Harrison, Will Cairns and Cooper Rushen developing and not only doing well in the championship but in the premiership as well

The shock of the meeting was the announcement from Jamie Swales that he is stepping down as Promoter at the end of the season. Also an excellent 2 minute silence for the 2 Police officers tragically killed last week. Well done Redcar Speedway
