  2. Nope, but bringing the white line in three metres all the way around would. Only way to pass is to practically put yourself in the fence like Barker does but he is as crazy as a rainbow trout in a car wash.

  3. It's called home advantage. Every promotion should be setting up their track to best suit their riders - if they want to win things. The Poole promotion want to give their riders the best possible chance of winning, that's what they care about. It's also what Poole fans care about and what keeps them coming through the turnstiles - and who can blame them? Whether you like it or not, Poole don't care about a Glasgow fan watching on a screen.

  4. Nice touch by the Comets management with a message on the electronic sign at the Ramsey brow junction at the end of the A66. Saying thank you to the fans and sponsors supporting the comets in 2026 😄🏁🔵⚪

  5. Go and crawl back under your rock. This meeting was about Berwick and Plymouth - and two genuine sets of the supporters - and not Poole, who don't even both to announce the riders in white and yellow for each race because it's all about them Cracking meeting last night at Plymouth - really enjoyable. Was stood with the Bar Bandits, while the Berwick fans were brilliant - haven't seen celebrations with as much emotion for a long time

  6. Just giving a bit back, as Pirate fans we have to put up with a lot of abuse and criticism of our track, some justified but not all, even when there is a meeting with plenty of passing which does happen we still dont get much praise.

  7. Well worth the wait for the Bandits, pleased for everyone involved at the club from the management and all the volunteers who help out weekly and the fans(well done to all who travelled down), also all us forum fannies, hope Mr Dickson is feeling better now.Gutted for PK to have to finish his season like that, also best wishes to Scotty, hope the Glads make it back next season.

  8. Great to see so many fans at the Coliseum. What a turnout. The travelling support on the back straight are a credit to the Bandits.

  9. Just what I said on Wednesday, there is a consortium willing to run in the premiership next season, lots of positive conversations held. A different consortium from the one you were involved with that want to run national league. I got shot down in flames last year for saying Northampton was going to happen so I’ll not say too much out of respect to those involved but watch this space

  10. It’s to allow Poole riders to shorten the track. Not illegal in general, but where other tracks are prepared for toe-to-toe racing, Wimborne Road is prepared to stifle racing. Scunthorpe brought the entertainment on Wednesday; Jenkins passed Cairns, MPT passed Rushen and Pickering made passes in both the last heat and the super heat. Other than Cook’s debatable “pass” in the superheat, a Poole rider didn’t make a single pass all evening. The first leg of the final last season was the same. Beyond the first lap (when riders are closer, so swapping places is inevitable), only Freddy Hodder made a pass and that was in heat two. After Jenkins done Cairns on Wednesday night, Ford was out on the track organising the removal of dirt.

  11. I was acutely aware of the pain felt by Ipswich fans last winter. Sadly I, and many others, have felt that pain for 10 years waiting for Brandon to reopen. And before the naysayers post that there is no chance, believe me, you should examine the evidence and talk to the team fighting this battle.

  12. Congrats to the Bandits riders, management and fans. Great to see a club winning something after so many years. Saddened to see PK finish this way, one of my favourite riders especially as a Comet. Shame he will also miss the Premiership Playoff final.

  13. Just got back in from the meeting, I would like to congratulate Berwick riders and fans your a credit to your club and thoroughly deserved winners, tonight was the biggest crowd I have seen in all my time of going to Plymouth speedway so I’m sure after the money I saw being pumped into collection buckets and what was made on the gate tonight they should have raised quite a pretty sum towards the costs, i hope the person who was taken poorly in the stand will be ok.hopefully we will be at tapes next season but if not what a ride it has been, congratulations to Poole for winning the double, and also congratulations again to. Berwick.

  16. Flint's rolling away average is 8.00 and was only bettered by six riders who did the whole 2026 season. I'd also argue that he still has improvement in him too.

  17. I don't remember any meeting that has been re-run. You could argue both meetings being re-run as there seems a big case for Cairns tyre warming.

  22. Would moving the start gate back reduce the carnage in the 1st corner? Too many pile ups when riders go in there fully committed like last night.

  23. I would imagine the risk is another accident .. Down to five riders would leave them with little cover, especially as no tac subs...

  24. All of this, plus whether or not Cook crossed the white line, are moot points: the rules state that riders who warm their tyres face exclusion. Cairns warned his tyres at Scunthorpe and wasn’t excluded, despite the referee having access to crystal clear video evidence. Cairns unfairly won that race. If the rules were applied, it doesn’t go to a superheat because Scunthorpe win it.

  25. Congratulations to the Bandits. Delighted for the riders, management, fans and the town of Berwick as a whole. A lovely part of the country with great people. Best wishes and regards to PK, Nicholls, Stewart Dickson and the fan who took unwell.

  26. Terrific meeting last night with a cracking atmosphere. Well done Berwick on winning the cup and Plymouth for putting on such a great show. Well worth the trip down.

  27. I’m not sure stressing the fans out all winter with them not knowing if they’ll have a team to support is fair either. We had that uncertainty at Ipswich last winter, wasn’t nice.

  34. Whilst some of the racing in 2026 was fantastic to watch the season was a dreadful one for the Tigers. Ashton Vale ended up on a bigger average (4.00) in last night's meeting than 'Super' Mario Hausl managed all season (3.79). Sam Hagon looked like an NDL rider at times and Freddy Hodder showed flashes but everyone said that about him last season as well. His average looks enticing enough to give him another year in the job though but i can't see KJP staying as his average is tricky to squeeze in if the management decide to go with 3 heat leaders again. He's also in his mid 20s so he's unlikely to kick on anymore. Leon Flint impresses at home but is often found lacking away so he may be shown the door. Cami Brown wasn't really at fault for the poor season but he wasn't exactly the Pep Guardiola of the Championship either. The club itself could look at trying to arrange home fixtures a bit better next season as this year almost 7 weeks went by without a home meeting during the height of the summer. Hot days are generally when the fans come out in large numbers. Just a thought. And on that thought here's my thoughts on what a strong 2027 team might look like, providing all the riders can be enticed to Ashfield: 1 Chris Harris 2 Victor Palovaara/KJP 3 Anders Rowe 4 Jody Scott 5 Dan Thompson 6 Freddy Hodder 7 ??? *it all comes to a fraction under 38 points leaving a fraction over 2 for an NDL rider.

  35. It's all ifs and buts, if Lewi Kerr hadn't got injured or Jacob Hook rode instead of Jordan Jenkins, there also wouldn't have been a super heat

  36. also from google.... The Speedway Control Bureau (SCB) Regulations define the "white line" itself as the official boundary of the infield. [1] The rule book phrases it with strict technical phrasing under two specific rules that work together: The Infield Line Definition (Rule 05.1.4a): It states there must be "a continuous line to define the inner edge of the track circuit." The SCB formally interprets this white painted line as being part of the infield itself, meaning the precise "inner edge" of the racing track is exactly where the dirt track meets the outer edge of the white paint. [1] The Point of Disqualification (Rule 012.1.11): Because the white line counts as the infield, the regulations do not require a tyre to cross 100% over the line to be in breach. The rule strictly penalizes "a rider whose machine crosses the inner edge of the track with 2 wheels." [1, 2] In practice during a referee review, if any part of the tyre tread simply touches the painted surface of the white line, that wheel is legally deemed to have left the track. If both tyres touch or cross onto that white paint during a corner, it triggers an immediate red light disqualification, unless the safety or crowding exemptions apply. [1, 2]

  37. Not sure there's a correct answer. Many will be on the fence before suggesting a 1-7!😂 (Sorry, couldn't resist. I hope the Glads get what they need for 2027.)

  38. I think that BSPL insist that the air fence is no more than 10 years old, worky had to get a new air fence as the old one ex scunny was out of date, but I think in this financial climate the fence should have an MOT type test done every season, and clubs could get a couple more years out of them.

  41. Did you read the story ? And what if garrity took the rap for someone else which I don’t know if he did or not but it’s certainly been a story floating around since he went inside and another story floating around is he already has a team place in the prem for next season, I don’t know if that true either but if you don’t like the fact he will be back in British speedway then don’t go and watch when he rides

  42. The difference was the police did their job properly in one conviction and not the other but the point I’m making is there are many less than perfect people riding speedway past and present and it’s always been like that, garrity is possibly destined for more crime or jail time unless he can get a purpose for life, speedway is that purpose whether you like it or not

  43. Why is it a stupid comparison? https://www.timesandstar.co.uk/news/23205865.cleator-moor-man-accused-strangling-partner-case-dismissed/ both seem to be troubled men with substance abuse possibly behind their actions, unfortunately there are criminals and unsavoury types in all walks of life and speedway isn’t immune to that

  44. There's no reason on this earth why Jason shouldn't be allowed to resume his racing career, he's done the crime and done the time. he should be given the chance to make amends. if you don't want to go to see him don't go, simple as that, but am afraid you'll be in the minority.

  45. And maybe the fact a lot of the keyboard warriors on here wouldn't say most of the nasty stuff to his face gives a true indication to their characters? I am in no way defending the actions and crimes of Mr Garrity. They were truly deplorable and he deserved what he got. He does deserve another go though if he has finally grown up and got his sh*t together. I can only go by the young Jason I knew when I was involved at Coventry. He could be a very naughty boy when it suited him but he was also a really nice kid as well with a cracking sense of humour and was brilliant with the fans especially pre meeting in the pits. Unfortunately as usually happens in Speedway he was quickly hyped up and became surrounded with yes men and hangers on and that did go to his head. Inside Jason there is that nice kid. Hopefully as he matures he will atone his sins, give back to society and surround himself with the right people.

  46. Hopefully Jack is fit to ride. Is this not a final? Why would you use someone who is not the best replacement you can get so you can class someone else as one of the "family". I will be in Tenerife hoping for a Berwick win with the regular Berwick team or the strongest team they can put out (no sentiments in a final).
