  1. Should be remembered that Brennan missed a season through a broken leg, add that to the year that everyone missed through Covid and he's not doing too badly for his age. He has improved greatly over the last 12-18 months and I think he can be much better than he is now, whether that is to the level that Lambert and Bewley find themselves remains to be seen but he certainly has something about him. Also worth chucking in the Jason Doyle example of a late developer too.
  2. That very phrase went through my mind yesterday!
  3. These kind of dodgy call offs won't stop while promoters can carry on making their own decisions as they see fit without some kind of adjudication from the governing body.
  4. Not according to the Met Office......all rain for today in Lynn has disappeared going by their app.
  5. I expect there will be plenty of pleasant nights in Sept but its another school summer holiday week wasted. Back in our second division days under Jonathan we rode every Wednesday through the summer with themed meetings and the place was awash with kids. Should still be like that now.
  6. You are right and it was called off far too early for that to be the genuine reason, but the forecast was quite different last night and especially this morning.
  7. I can't imagine that would make too much difference seeing as the Play Offs are gone anyway. Just think he doesn't want to lose money and bar sales, it's the sorry state speedway has got itself into nowadays. On another note can you still pay on the day for the South Stand at Belle Vue? We are up for the weekend and I fancy coming on Monday.
  8. I suspect they could have whethered either the fact it's on telly OR a dodgy forecast, but both together would have meant one man and his dog I'd imagine.
  9. Well done Glasgow, proper character shown tonight. And like Ashfield, Redcar is a proper racetrack.
  10. While I don't disagree that it's an early call off the Met Office app suggests general rain rather than just light showers. I think you are probably right though, they are petrified of a small crowd which tv and rain would almost guarantee. Although it's another school holiday date wasted.
  11. That was the crux of it for me - the top six were a cut above the rest and while it was possible to win off the middle gates against the rest of the field, Lambert or Holder doing it in heat 19 against Jensen and Bewley was a very long shot. Luck of the draw. Of course his only other dropped points were off gate three.....when in that race were Nilsson and Fricke off 1 and 4!
  12. From Lynn website KING’S Lynn have taken an early decision to postpone Monday’s scheduled Premiership fixture with Belle Vue.This is due to the forecast weather conditions for Monday evening, with all sources indicating heavy rain moving through the area in the late afternoon and early evening. We have therefore made an early call in order to minimise inconvenience for all parties.A new date will be advised when agreed.
  13. TV for me, won't attend a meeting I can watch at home until they reduce the price on the night, its a no brainer with petrol prices as they are. Prediction: Track to be heavy, racing crap and BV to win by 2-6 points.
  14. It can't always be gates but it certainly contributed last night, had he been on 1 or 4 in heat 19 then he almost certainly would have ended up on 12 or 13 points and somebody else wouldnt, the margins can be that fine at the top level and he was unfortunate last night, but that's speedway. There is definitely something different with him between Extraliga and GP's though, just seems more relaxed and free flowing in league racing. Too uptight and not relaxed in the GP's unlike Bewley who looks like he doesn't have a care in the world and is reaping the benefits.
  15. Preview http://kingslynn-speedway.com/news.php?extend.31237 Met has rain or showers from 1pm til 8pm.
  16. Hopefully it will spur him on. I was thinking something similar, perhaps a break from the GP's might do him good. There's a disparity between his league form and GP results, he's eighth in the Extraliga averages and some way above Bewley and Woffy but struggles in the GP's for some reason, maybe belief? Hopefully he can do the business across the last four rounds but if not maybe a re-evaluation of his approach might be needed.
  17. I think Holder just showed that there is very little wrong with the track.
