UK speedway slowly dying
Bagpuss replied to old bob at herne bay's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Another promoter not interested in listening to the concerns of the sports customers. -
A hiding I fear.
-
Or Richard Lawson.
-
Not sure he'd be a massive upgrade on R/R really but at least we'd have seven riders again.

And has often done the centre green announcing at Lynn over the years, more so for Boston in their CL days but for the Stars too on many occasions. -

Poole vs Scunthorpe 20th July (Champ)

Other than him not being a gating tart and not maiming anyone to my knowledge that's a great post. -
Plymouth v Poole; Jubilee League; Tues 19th July
Bagpuss replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
And at least Phillips has vowed to sort it for next Tuesday rather than leaving it for years. -
Perhaps not riders who ride quite like him but certainly riders who divide opinion and people like to boo. Ryan Fisher esque.
-
Absolutely but he's a massive part of them being miles clear. Haven't added it up but I suspect he's the top scorer by some margin across the four rounds so far.
-
I suspect that is in part due to losing Zelona Gora and gaining Ostrow.
-
Well done to Ipswich and they deserve to be well ahead but it feels a bit like when Andy Murray single handedly won the Davis Cup for GB the other year, having the best rider in the league by a mile is proving a big advantage despite his inability or unwillingness to team ride. Not their fault, they are the best team under the format and good luck to them.
-
Also if our house was in order over here then Lambert, Bewley and others would choose the UK over Sweden as their second league. Wiffy might even be here. Get it run properly with fresh ideas and a new hierarchy and it could happen. Brennan definitely the next one but not sure after that, Rowe doing well in the U24 league but nobody else standing out from the crowd right now.

Folk say that every year but I'm not sure what is expected really, its no mystery or surprise who the best British riders are (minus Woffinden and Lambert).

Trouble is how many more Lynn meetings until we know if Puk's or anybody else's team can't make the Play Offs? What a mess.

And replace him with who? Get rid of Zagar and any chance you may have of winning the title will go with him. -
Excellent performance, very much needed. Great to see Jorgensen and Lawson back in the points, just need to get Kerr going.
