Think they have to travel to report for duty, whether in the team or not , then may probably get a minimal pay for their time. Often practice sessions are on if not in the team
The White Knight Posted yesterday at 05:53 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 05:53 PM For what it is worth, I think that Poland has far too much influence in British Speedway. 🤬 They should not dictate to riders and Clubs over here. 🤬 Let them run their own Sport, and keep their collective noses out of other people's business. 🤬

He’s the number 8, they can name an under 24 rider there and bring them to replace boys in the top 5 during the meeting.  Usual suspects clutching at straws saying a reduced facility, would’ve rode tonight if not for the rain and tomorrow if there was a physical way of getting there on time for Sunday.
JanAndersen Posted yesterday at 07:32 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 07:32 PM I suspect this differs club to club and rider to rider but typically is it the club that finances the travel in instances like this?

Did Plymouth receive a reduced facility last year when one of their riders was racing in Poland the following day from a meeting in the UK? Did Poole receive a reduced facility (possibly 3 years ago) for a rider named in their team when he hadn't raced for them?   42 minutes ago, gmuncie said: Polish meeting is tomorrow isn’t it? I had a feeling it was tomorrow but what Mr Blobby says is on the Edinburgh website so the meeting must be Sunday? Hope he does well in Poland if he gets a few races (need Brits getting continental experience). PersonalResponsibility
It's just another stupid rod that British speedway has made for its own back. Nobody is going to be bothered if Edinburgh get a guest for Dan Thompson - it's the BSN Series, effectively challenge meetings - but the rules say one thing and they decide to do another. Either enforce the rules as they are, or accept they need looked at and change them to better reflect reality. Edited 17 hours ago by PersonalResponsibility

Lodz done well to get the draw with the 2-4 & 1-5 in heats 14 and 15. Wish there were more community stadiums like that available to British Speedway Clubs.

screm
So in the end Dan Thompson was named in the Lodz team for todays match, sadly for him he was an unnamed number eight and never got to turn a wheel in anger.
