Steve Shovlar Posted yesterday at 09:08 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 09:08 AM Quite remarkable they are going up against Englands first World Cup match. Will there be a crowd or a small gathering?

Also they are showing the football there if people want to watch both, so don't see the issue.

The issue is while not everyone likes football many many speedway fans do and most will choose one or the other When even losing 10% of your crowd can make for a catastrophic night for most clubs then running against the football is financial suicide for the night, add in the fact that the match is on BSN so people can watch the speedway after the football should they decide to stay home and this seems like horrific planning albeit I can see why Glasgow wouldn’t want to rearrange giving it must be a rare Wednesday that KJP is available

Meeting should never have been allocated to run this day.
nagy1 Posted yesterday at 11:12 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 11:12 AM The odds for a Tigers/Croatia double must be sky high. Tigers lucky to hit 30.

With Glasgow being Scottish, I'd think they would be very reluctant to get this meeting rearranged, fixtures probably in place before the world cup draw took place

Do they all have eyes like Marty Feldman in Oxford?

Watch the Oxford meeting from terraces. Head into the main grandstand at 9pm. Watch the remaining heats, while also watching the football on the big TV screens in the upstairs bar. Stick around to watch the rest of the football match. Better watching the football in a shared environment than watching it at home by yourself. If Masters performs like he did at Belle Vue on monday, the cheetahs may struggle to win this.

You can do that but how many spectators won’t bother with the speedway and just watch the football at home or in the pub?

Marksman
Interested to see how Kennett goes tonight, thought he looked rather good at Northside on Saturday given his long spell away.
marko
Am expecting another dust bowl and whilst I don’t care for the World Cup, there is no reason why injury’s aside, the meeting cannot be completed well with 90 mins, Frank Ebdon could have done that and you would still have time to get home if you lived within five miles.

What was the reason for all of the other Wednesday's they've not ridden? Didn't want to run against Bake Off? 😜
