As it stands at the moment to go from the nss to Foxhall for a grand prix is massively disappointing. Going from one of the best and most consistent track in Britain to one of the worst shouldn't have anyone cheering bar those who live a few miles from Foxhall.

But thats as it stands now. Coleman knows the score and I'd expect one of his big plans is to improve the track- theres a decent little interview on Karlito youtube channel where he does press on the point that good racing is the priority to getting people through the door.

There's been an awful lot of backlash on Coleman for this, but personally from everything ive heard from the guy, the ideas he's got and some of the stuff hes already implemented in a short time at Ipswich I really do think the rest of British speedway and other promoters need to start listening and taking note before it's too late

After listening to the Richard Coleman interview on speedway 360, i have no issues with it being at Ipswich especially when he was talking through all the track prep in the GPs.

Also like the idea in Poland where a club gets more tv money for the amount of passes you get. We should definitely do that!

He said Sister company, he doesn't Own Wroclaw so they are not a sister company

Mayfield have different parts to their own company, one part owns Ipswich where Wroclaw have invested in that business not Mayfield overall

2 hours to Manchester on poor roads and limited car parking available, or 3 hours to Ipswich on motorways and dual carriageways and a massive car park. Yes it might take a while to get out of the car park post meeting, but I know which journey home I would prefer at night.

Added bonus is it won't be full of Aces fans. 😉

Motorways and Dual Carriageways?...

You been to Ipswich from the North of the country?

And it won't be 3 hours when you get stuck behind Farmer Palmer in his tractor on the "dual carriageway", or sat there stopped, for a herd of 100 cows to cross over the "dual carriageway" as their grazing field is on the opposite side to the milking barn.. 

I remember when Manchester got the GP's and all the negative comments about the lack of bars, restaurants and hotels when compared to Cardiff...

I presume Ipswich must be very similar to Cardiff given I haven't read anything negative about it yet...

Is the track in the city centre like Cardiff, or just 5 mine outside like the NSS is?..

Or will the "dual carriageways" be busy..?..

Too many people prove the old saying better to be thought a fool etc 

the fact is they can also get more people in at Foxhall - see people cling to this notion we can get Cardiff back - not realising the huge costs of running the GP and forgetting the racing wasn’t up to much! 
 

don’t disagree that the NSS is a great racetrack and little stadium but we do need to get more than one venue involved!

Ipswich need to be commended for getting this as we at Belle Vue know only too well the hoops you need to jump through and concessions that need to be made. Also negotiations at this level aren’t easy so it’s fair play to the Ipswich promotion for getting the GP circus on board. No mean feat.

No because I don't live in the north of the country !!

The post was from my personal point of view. I live 2 miles from the M1, so yes it is all motorway and dual carriageway for me. I do that journey for stock cars at Foxhall so yes it's a 3 hour run. 

The only poor roads between Manchester and Ipswich are the ones I would have to drive on to get to the NSS.

Personally, I don't care about the bars, restaurants and hotels. I will stop at a nice cafe I know on the way down and come home the same night. Works for me.

Sister club and company mean two different things.

He's talking in his capacity as promoter of the grand prix, Mayfield events promotes that

The sister company to Mayfield events owned by him owns Ipswich

The sister club is Wroclaw who still only own 30%

So the fella rocks up literally months ago, has got a GP round down there, is ploughing money in this winter to revamp the track and improve racing for supporters, and he’s talking to big names because Ipswich are “not there to make up the numbers”.

Leta just say Ippo town centre could be twinned with Falujah she's no Bath or Cambridge, that aside glad they have it Coleman deserves some wins for the amount of time and money he's putting in to try and haul the sport off its deathbed and we know the patient won't be willingly dragged off of said bed.
