  1. Past hour
  2. Doyle is only on a 28 day contract, so averages wont come into play when dan is ready to return
  3. I know it's the wrong thread, but I'm currently at the NORA meeting Mildenhall v Norwich. 15 quid to get in and 12 heats completed in just over 1 hour. Around 400 here I reckon and not bad. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but it's not bad and has to be looked at as a way forward.
  4. Wouldn't mind hearing the general comments of anyone who may have bought the stream as to what they thought about this meeting. The Cheetahs fought back from a 10 point deficit after heat 5 to being just 2 behind after heat 13. The 4-2 from Tate and Max in heat 14 guaranteed the minimum the Comets would get was a draw and the 2 points were secured in a last heat decider in which McDiarmid somehow failed to make the 2 minute time allowance and was replaced by reserve Darryl Ritchings. This may well have been more crucial if Sam Masters hadn't shed a chain whilst leading heat 1 turning a 2-4 into a Comets 4-2. For the Comets it looked like it was going to be good day for Niklas with a dominant win in heat 2 but after running a solid third in heat 5 he seemed to lose his way a little. Vinnie riding in the difficult No2 position will probably also be a bit frustrated after relinquishing good on track positions sticking to the inside line. Good performances from the top 3 who scored 37 of the 48 between them went a long way to seeing the Comets home and the wins from Tate in 12 and 14 were crucial. Young Max displayed his battling qualities and improving race craft and can count himself very hard done by to be excluded by the referee in heat 12. For the Cheetahs Sam Masters was his usual classy self with most of the others chipping in at times throughout the meeting. Edward Kennett caught the eye considering his time away from the track and should do a solid job for the Cheetahs. UTC !
  5. I know I can be a bit thick at times... but I can't see what is "complex" about holding a Grand Prix at Belle Vue and then holding another Grand Prix at Belle Vue the very next night with the same riders, staff and officials (and fans) šŸ¤”šŸ¤‘
  6. WORLD Championship chief Richard Coleman says he's "not making any promises" regarding a third double British GP in Manchester - despite another exceptional weekend's racing at the National Speedway Stadium. The packed-out crowds, as well as worldwide TV audiences, were treated to successive nights of breathtaking action as Belle Vue's circuit once again delivered the goods on the biggest stage. It concluded with what some on social media have dubbed 'the greatest Grand Prix final ever: Aces favourite Brady Kurtz snatching victory in a truly thrilling final. But when asked about a third potential year of back-to-back meetings in M12, Mayfield Sports Events founder Coleman was quick to remind everyone of their commitment to growing the series on a global scale. "Listen, the calendar is quite a complex thing," Coleman said. "I'm not making any promises because we're working very hard on overseas events. "That then dictates how many races we've got left to fill in Europe and there are lots of things that need to happen alongside all of that. Coleman stalls on third Aces double "The calendar is already starting to take shape, though, and I'm hoping that in the next eight weeks I'll have a bit of a draft calendar together, and then we can see where we are." Coleman couldn't hide his delight at the success of both events last weekend, though, and felt the many developing stories within the World Championship standings added to the atmosphere around the track. "The racing has been really exceptional," Coleman said. "We've had two great nights of great racing and if every speedway event was like this in terms of racing, then my job would be 10 times easier. It's been fantastic and I'm really happy. The British crowd is very knowledgeable, so you know that they're following all the little sub-stories that are going on at the same time, and what each race means. "The crowd were very good, they enjoyed their racing and you could tell that by the way they reacted to it, particularly in that last final."
  7. Reading that, you wouldn't think we were currently winning away from home, eh? šŸ˜‚
  8. Just been looking at the Aces team averages. The limit for top six team building is 37. Belle Vue are currently 0.86 over this total and are replacing a rider with one having a lower average, which is fine regardless of the top six total. If Bewley is in a position to resume racing this season, it might not be possible for him to takeover from Doyle without making an additional team change to keep under the 37 limit.
  9. Today
  10. Interesting comments regarding the Jay Cartmell Memorial meeting by Baz today. Lineup consists of past, present, and potentially future workington comets riders. Also seen Cookies family at the speedway today. Nice to see them there.
  11. Well he has the experience on the first one to be the ultimate judge and also be a Hollywood double as a Zombie so I suppose I'm banged to rights šŸ˜‚
  12. Great start here, but we’ve chucked it. Could have been out of sight, but all to race for now. That PK and Morris 5-1 was a gut punch. Feel like it’s heats like that which show Flint doesn’t have the mettle to be relied upon when the chips are down and we’re fighting for our season.
  13. He did the track walk. Just at derwent park instead
  14. That’s changed from when he said in the Witches ā€˜meet the riders’ night that they have a contract for another double header then it can split. Unless they have paid to break the contract!?!?
  15. The exclusion of Dan T, is one of the worst decisions I've ever seen. No idea what the ref was thinking, even worse that he had a video replay to watch. As others have pointed out, Monarchs can't blame the result on that, as a Wood exclusion would mean no Morris as a tac sub in the following heat. Monarchs pretty disappointing not being able to win, with a guest performing far better than Paco has this season. Sunny now look well set for the play-offs.
  16. I wasn't there, but based on scores alone, Mountain deserved an r/r outing.
  17. It is allowed on lingo. So if it ok on daytime tv, then no problems here. Well yeah probably. It's been going on a fair while now, can't really remember how it started.
  18. He done quite well I was surprised tbf. He seemed to find more speed with every race too.
  19. Reading between the lines it would suggest some extra rounds elsewhere... Maybe two in Aussie would be viable like the NSS do currently....? The GP series certainly needs a "shot in the arm" and Mayfield look like they have a plan to follow which sees some quick impact...
  20. Not the case at the moment. ā€œColeman stalls on third Aces doubleā€ is the headline in this weeks Speedway Star. The calendar is ā€œcomplexā€ and he isn’t making any promises on a Manchester double next year.
