There's also the fact most riders are simply riding more and more when I went in the mid 80's early 90's most rode one league in Britain, international and continental meetings, now some riders are in four leagues plus doubling up in UK, loads of under 21 events, European competitions, grand prix of 10-12 rounds against one off finals. The increase in bike speed most likely hasn't helped but the simple maths is the more time your on a bike the more chances sadly of bad crashes. -

It's my understanding and from a reliable source that Ingram had committed to Plymouth for CL this season in return for them giving him his chance in NDL last season when Scunthorpe weren't interested. A very late change of mind is Scunthorpes gain. What a team he'd have made Plymouth with as good a 1-6 already as there is. Its a shame too as Danny King and Scott nicholls would be great mentors. Scunthorpe appear to be more a set of individuals with one out and out superstar at the level.

One theory could be that now we have airfences riders taking more risks than without them

As there was nothing else within reasonable travelling distance I popped along to the dump last night and saw the ‘ Academy’ ( with two championship riders and an ex championship rider who could still do it ) hammer the Tigers…or should that be Ace Pijper?…. ( he was the only championship rider as Mudgeway is only a part time filling in sort of rider ). Very one sided , not great racing but then it is a bit of a ‘technical’ track for the non regulars. Interesting to see the first female in the NDL but the lady is a bit off the pace as yet. Tigers hampered by replacing Ablitt with Norman so only one heat leader but I’d say Norman , Sadler and Southwick did ok. Academy just too strong on their own track with ex Tiger Halder impressive .Shanes might just get in the senior team. The replay at Redcar will be a similar result as Ablitt is not riding ( speedway injury ?). it’s the only speedway on so do I go or watch the GP ? without Lindgren or Bewley …..
