The thing that has really made my visits to Oxford a pure pleasure is the atmosphere - packed crowd, huge waves of emotion as the drama unfolds. Like you I'm a fan of local rivals through and through (Racers rather than Robins) but it is impossible not to get wrapped up in the excitement.6 points

You need a trip to specsavers. Harris booed for the rest of the meeting - while Jenkins was the hero of the night, clearly not 100% after Harris wiped him out but continued in the meeting and took vital points in 12 and 14. Vissing also sent Jordan flying in Heat 14, as finally the ref took his red and white specs off and excluded a Glasgow rider. Brilliant backs-to-the-wall stuff from Oxford, while Glasgow chucked away a golden opportunity.5 points

I have absolutely nothing against you having an opinion……it’s the incessant repeated posting of that same opinion that gets on peoples proverbials ……. Oh….and you say there are plenty riders out there to sort out the Tigers team. Just tell me who they are, what average they will come in on and what rider/riders you would drop to accommodate them?4 points

For me there are a few main reasons BSN is a more entertaining watch The main one is the pace of the meeting, Eurosport/Phil Morris control that for there meetings and it drags it out something chronic there is no need for a speedway meeting to be a 2.5hr affair from start to finish unless there is an incident. Whereas BSN have no control over this and just cover the meeting as it goes so it flows so much better and keeps you involved. 2nd is the BSN has more characters in their coverage, while I think Scott does a fantastic job on Eurosport he is perhaps a bit more polished than a Greg Blair or Adam Roynon type but those guys can be themselves a bit more on bsn than the presenters on Eurosport can I’d say lastly while bsn do cover premiership the majority is still Championship and for my money that is a far more entertaining league.4 points

His performances in the premiership this season mirror that including whooping Emil and Doyle around Foxhall earlier in the year, so not just that league.4 points

The Poole fans measure all the other clubs crowds against their 5,000 they get each week....4 points

This might be an unpopular opinion but would it be fair to say that Bewley has been a little disappointing in an Aces racesuit this year bearing in mind his accomplishments in the GP's and Extraliga/Elitserien?3 points

We have an entertaining team who won't win the league with the current line up. Getting new riders in seems very difficult these days. So we will just have to make do with thrilling speedway for another year, there's worse places to be.3 points

Good to see so many Pirates fans making the journey to Perry Barr last night, haven't seen Steve Shov for about 15 years so good to have a chat. The Pirates on the min-bus certainly were good voice on arrival and all seemed to make it safe and sound back from their visit to the Wetherspoon's over the road from the Stadium. On track, clinical stuff from Poole from the off meant it was game, set and match after 3 heats. Mini-bus of Brum fans heading down to Wimborne Road for the return next week.3 points

If it goes to one division I doubt there will be few teams able to afford the luxury of a GP rider both financially and average wise. As.much as its nice to watch the great riders it gets a bit boring watching them win by the length of a straight. Well balanced teams is one of the things required to get British Speedway back on track.3 points

Yeah, Scott's really got it sorted this year, something's clicking that had been missing for a bit. It's great to see him doing well.3 points

Sometimes you talk sense and then other times not so much. If you knew how a team was going to perform pre season then you'd be the richest TM in the league. Oxford Gambled big time with two, two pointers, had Atkins and Kinsley struggled and not increased they're averages they would be in the big poo, with fans screaming "why did you gamble" there would be absolutely nothing they could do. Henry Atkins putting 3+ points on his average in 2 1/2 months is more than Basso could do on his all last season, what that means is that a struggling Heeps is know the experience at 6. If they had Lewi fit at 3 I genuinely think they'd have a chance to push Poole for the trophy. Glasgows Gamble was on Lee complin, Nobody else and if you look at the GSA he is the ONLY rider not performing. Had he managed to do a fraction of what Henry has done (put two points on his average, bearing in mind he was racing against a lot of 2 pointers.) then if Nowak or Claus struggled, regardless we would've had a strong #6. The reality is he didn't and there's noone to replace him with. 2 seasons ago the club dropped Justin when he was struggling, do you think for one minute they are holding onto Lee because they think he can improve?3 points

O….M….G We heard you the first time…..umpteen posts ago. You seem to think you are going to make things change by keeping saying the same thing OVER and OVER and OVER again. If your obsession is to win everything that’s going, it’s maybe time to support another team. The team Glasgow put together was impressive in most peoples eyes and was relying on a few riders improving on their starting average. Unfortunately, Lee has not reached the level expected but where do we go from here? Please tell us exactly what you would do right now…….who would you drop and who would you sign to resolve the situation.3 points

My lad and his mates went and stood with the Poole fans for a short time on bend one. They said it was a wild atmosphere. What other sport could you do that!3 points

Think you're being a bit too harsh on their team selection. All of Glasgow's top 5 have upped their averages, so who would you replace to start with a stronger reserve? Pre-season I thought Complin was worth a go, obviously he's not hit the form anyone is wanting. Ace is also doing his job, so don't agree with suggestions I've read that it was a year too soon to step up. While Heeps did well at reserve, don't forget he's in that position because Akins has gone from a 2.0 to a 5.5 rider this season, who would have anticipated that? If that was Pijper, Vissing could have dropped to reserve, ditto any team with a 2.00 rider!3 points

The trouble is too many promoters have a take it or leave it policy what should be happening is a meet and greet autograph session with all the riders. Opportunity to have your photo with your favourite riders and sit on a bike maybe. Anyone who shares it on social media is entered into a draw to win a pair of free tickets etc the accesability of the riders is unique to our sport yet we don’t use it to promote. The promotion needs to promote !!!!3 points

Good luck to the riders deciphering the contracts before they sign them.2 points

Must be a figment of my imagination that Workington and Oxford have reopened in last 18 months......2 points

And that’s the problem riders get penalised by losing there team place by being consistent and increasing there average. This should never happen. Building to a 40 point limit is not only laughable but is a ridiculous scenario for teams who want to progress rather than the teams who vote this through every year.2 points

Not sure but I am leading a group of around 60 to Wrocław next week. As part of that, especially for those who haven't been there before, I've created a document with a list of things to see and do around the city. If you haven't been before, or are interested in a copy of the document, PM me your email address and I'll happily forward it to you.2 points

The person who said he had been dropped did so a couple of days before he rode at Leicester. He then got injured two days later practicing in Denmark and was advised to rest for seven days, he supplied a medical certificate to the club. He is scheduled to return to racing next week as long as his injury has cleared up, which I think it will have. There’s no hmmm about it.2 points

Poole will win the trophy but hopefully Tigers can at least win the meeting, even if only by 2 points and superb racing to entertain the fans2 points

Why is it when we lose , poor old Lee or Marcin or anybody else suddenly isn't good enough . We scored 38 points at the track of the team currently top of the league . If Oxford can keep Heeps at reserve , they must be in with a decent chance come the play offs . Certainly we do look a bit vulnerable at reserve , but things can quickly turn around . We've in all likelihood done enough already to make the play offs , then its a clean slate and on the night anything can happen . I wouldn't write us off just yet .2 points

Seems the German motorsport association have had a study done and found up to 80% of CO2 is caused by the fans. So speedway having very few fans are emmiting far less CO2 than other motorsports. Which is nice https://www.dmsb.de/de/ueber-uns/leitbild-und-werte/nachhaltigkeit/file/2880802 points

Precisely this. If they have stopped using the product already then they have either stopped caring or began to care less and less. They have to start getting fans to care again with a good product first and foremost.2 points

You joke but we did used to get that in the early 2000s! I remember Poole and Oxford were fighting it out to be league champions in 2001 (in those days you had to finish top for that!) and I had to get out of work before my normal 5pm finish, otherwise by the time I get there I wouldn't be able to see anything. In those days fans as started queuing at 3pm! I miss that! When Mark Loram was world champion and first home meeting back the crowd was 7000!2 points

Good to see the Ox doing well still unbeaten, and decent crowds still in their second season back, one of the few shining lights in British league speedway. Masters signing was a masterstroke, best rider in league with Scotty. Was at this fixture last year, a 5-1 heat advantage in last heat gave Ox victory, won by guest Bomber, some great racing and fantastic atmosphere. Quite a few Swindon fans travel up the a420 for their speedway fix, great to see speedway still running successfully in the Thames Valley, after their 15 year wait. Good set-up at Sandy Lane, hope to visit again soon. Good luck for rest of season.2 points

Obviously there is little anyone can do about the weather, though there is more fixtures being called off due to a poor forecast than ever before, not necessarily a bad thing. But what is clear is that the Berwick fixture list for this season has been a complete shambles, with so many blank Saturday`s it very easy to lose track of what is actually happening and easier still to find something else to do with your Saturday nights.2 points

Watched this on BSN. Why is speedway always more entertaining on BSN than it is on Eurosport? I enjoyed the coverage despite the delays. On Eurosport I've often lost the will to live after about 5 heats. Oxford also looked nice on the telly. The pits on the back straight works well in that context. Nice to see Oxford have a scoreboard up on the back straight too. It's a major bugbear of mine that so many stadiums don't have that. I might even be tempted to pay Cowley a visit this year now. One moment Lee Complin is the brightest prospect in British speedway - the next, he's a veteran struggling at reserve. Where did my life go?2 points

Cami and his sound bites are embarrassing, if we can see we’re the problems are why can’t he. I just wish he would call it like it is instead off talking sh*te we know it’s sh*te and so does he.2 points

While I hope Kings Lynn remain open the attitude of use it or lose it has to be eradicated from Speedway. In any other walk of life it would be seen as emotional blackmail. If you have a business you have to work to ensure customers return, not threaten them with closure if they don’t buy your product.2 points

British speedway is not as easy as some would have us believe. Track and conditions vary a lot.1 point

Because Oxford have a lot of fight spirit in them. Something I think a lot of teams are lacking, we were there for the taking last night and The Tigers tried to pounce but The Cheetahs were too quick I'll admit that I thought we'd gone to top heavy in the team building. I'm happy to be wrong.1 point

Even in the late nineties I remember coming to Swindon with at least 500 newport fans and the crowd was huge and plenty of Swindon fans, unlike Reading the same year where the Newport fans would double the crowd. mad that all three clubs are gone.1 point

Should have run the British final on a Sunday, the same day as the Polish final, guarantees no Polish fixtures that day & should be able to get a full field, including Woffy & Lambert ideally!1 point

Bad news Tigers fans - am planning on going now so xpect a home defeat if previous attendance records are anyhting to go by! Looking foward to it tho - should be some good racing, Belle Vue fans last time I went (v Leicester) there were some horrendous roadworks by the stadium which can / will cause a 15-20 minute delays so be a bit earlier.1 point

Steve Boxall. Scored well on IOW during the week, beating Ben Morley and Lee Complin. Unsure what his CL average would be. My guess would be Jake Mulford1 point

All these weeks have gone by with good weather when meetings could've been run, now weather is cocking them up so we've got a backlog as per usual. British speedway for ya1 point

This year 2nd is the same as 6th, so finishing "outside of the top 3" doesn't really mean anything, unless you are 7th - 9th (which Glasgow won't be). I honestly don't know if there's a 4.00 rider out there who will score more than Complin, I think I'd stick & back the lads to come good. Don't forget losing away to the top teams won't cost them the league - unless it's big defeats in the play-offs.1 point

Very wise words and I agree but it not just this Thursday meeting that fans need to return for its every home meeting the question that never is asked by any promotion is why fans have walked away it’s not just Kings Lynn it’s almost every club season on season crowds have dwindled with nothing being done by promotions to address the problems- your are correct in what you say but would go in a restaurant week after week if you didn’t enjoy the food just so it didn’t close ? And that’s what fans have done walked away because they don’t like what’s on offer and doesn’t represent value for the £22 .I certainly don’t want any club least of all Kings Lynn to close but was has changed since the last home meeting? absolutely nothing sadly to say .1 point

Morris refused to comply with the test requirement. At that instant he took the matter into his own hands so I don’t see why other parties should be wasting their time investigating this further to assess whether the punishment should extend beyond the mandatory 30 day ban. Random testing is part and parcel of professional sport (even speedway falls into that category) and if you’re dumb enough to refuse a test it’s an admission that you have something to hide. I don’t see why the situation needs to be more complex than that. Serve him with the maximum ban/fine and move on.1 point
