If Ipswich can’t win it then I don’t mind who out of Belle Vue or Leicester do Sorry no time for Sheffield as the way some of their fans behave … they did it at the play off final second leg and again when they won at Foxhall last month … just not a nice fan base … plus they have Jack Holder lol6 points

This thread is hilarious with riders antics. Better than my dirty riders thread. Thanks.3 points

I don't suppose the Challenge will be on TV. It never seems to be. I would much rather watch this cut throat meeting than most of the GP's.3 points

At this point we should just wave the white flag and let a fully fit Oxford take our place in the play offs.2 points

The last league meeting of the season, if comets win then we are in the play offs (i think) but despite Plymouth looking like a weak side, some of their away performances have been good, could be a close encounter, so all you comets fans get down to the GT tyres northside arena to cheer the comets to the play offs UTC2 points

King is not even beating riders on his home track that he should. He can't possibly replace either Doyle or Sayfutdinov - nobody has suggested that - but he hasn't even maintained his contribution when it was needed most.2 points

I'm of the opinion that as long as you don't touch the tapes and you get a flyer then what's the problem. All they are doing is penalising good gaters.2 points

Anyhow as I’ve said before, I think it’s time to bin it off as it’s not a level playing field. There will be two or three that are clearly far superior to the rest on the list, so some clubs through no fault of their own will be disadvantaged from the get go. At least by letting clubs build their 1-7 of their choosing, if they end up with one of the weaker teams then that’s their own fault. When you look at the whole list from this year, and with all due respect to them, there’s some on there that would be out of their depth in a Championship reserve berth let alone Premiership.2 points

When the RS scheme was first introduced you just had to have less then 3 years pro league experience or be under 25,, or something like that,, Bacon was about 28 if my memory serves me right,, and there was a bit of a fuss over Josh Bates having 3 years or less experience at that level.2 points

As long as a rider fits the criteria, there is no maximum amount of seasons. I think they have to be U23 or U24 at the start of the season, so Flint could have 2 or more seasons if his average stayed below 4.00.2 points

Would that be fair? Ed the Monarch always has a minder with him. Right enough Roary could give him a Glasgow kiss and put the Ed on Monarch.1 point

Thompson for Thomson? Usually people take the p. We've decided to add one instead.1 point

I meant more the point difference tiebreaker suits Glasgow as they are already leading that. To even get to that stage Glasgow need the aggregate point against Oxford which is why they need to win by a lot. Need to beat Oxford by 21 points (or 20 and win the super heat) and also win at Edinburgh.1 point

Exactly, that’s why Rob Lyon told me he was possibly looking at Flint or Jenkins to be rising star at Lynn… he’s not an idiot like some recent managers haha1 point

I still remember the grand final last year. The Sheffield track was shocking during the pre match interviews & Tatums track walk it was said time & time again that gate 3 would be a grave yard in the early heats & what did King do after winning the coin toss took gates 1 & 3. We can’t over look Kings contribution during his time at Ipswich however it’s been clear that for the past 2 or 3 years he has been on a downward spiral & more interested in Danny King than being a team player. It’s time for him to move on during the winter & leave Ipswich with his legacy still more or less intact. Another season like the last couple would tarnish his Ipswich career. we need to retain Doyle,Rew,Thompson & if possible Emil next year. Ellis & Jenkins have not really done anything wrong but it’s a numbers game.1 point

He's the captain. The reserves race wasn't going to restart with Dan still out on the track. He had time to check on an important member of his team. Stop making excuses for him. He has come up short at everything. Captain, team rider and points scorer. He was lucky to score 4 yesterday after holder made a mistake in his first ride.1 point

It could have been but for the corrupt nature the sport is run. Just sorry you got caught up in the usual BS we have to deal with.1 point

It’s never been communicated from the club & if they knew Emil was out for the season it should have been made official. The last few week it feels like all the good work over the last couple of seasons has been undone. A real shame.1 point

There will be no picks from outside the top 4 in the challenge- Doyle + current GP riders.( 4 or 5 max)1 point

tbh like others on here, even though I have retired from watching speedway after 60+ years, the sport still entertains me .... every season is a comedy , building slowly from the early meetings with 7 riders in a team, then seeing R/R and gusts come into play, then add in riders"withholding their services" or injured only for UK meetings. Rising to a crescendo at the "business end" of the season with a sudden bums rush to complete fixtures by the "cut off" date, then extensions to the "cut off date". Gusts have turned into gales of Gusts sometimes Chris Harris riding in every match. for every team challenging for the P.Offs. This happens every season. However this season is like no other. We have the added excitement of the use of Speedway's equivalent of AI , also known as Phil Morris, who as a successful TV game show player has artificially guessed results of all fixtures for the P. offs. Stunning. With so many gusts in use it matters not a jot who wins the p.offs, but its jolly good fun coming on this forum and seeing the same old same old every season, and he promises of better next season (albeit with fewer tracks operating ) What a wonderful sport 🙂 🙂1 point

Green Sheets issued yesterday have Ivacic at reserve on 4.00 and Glasgow at 37.15. We'll need to strengthen to make the 38.00 limit!1 point

We actually covered Doyle’s absence really well to be fair. He’s been out since mid May but we still managed to win most meetings both home and away even with inferior guests and rider replacement. But once Emil crashed at Sheffield (and let’s not forget we were 2 points up going in to heat 15 and fighting for the win for the second time there this season) the whole team collapsed. The younger members of the team who had all stepped up a gear this year, suddenly lost a bit of form when the pressure to be the main players in the game rather than the supporting acts, naturally took its toll. Then Ellis joined Doyle and Emil on the sidelines when he crashed out of his opening heat in our next fixture at home to Leicester, and that was the season dead and buried. No chance of signing replacements even if they now become available, and very limited guest choice. A season that promised everything has turned in to a season to forget. Maybe next year!1 point

Danny King is basically Ippo's version of Casemiro at this point.1 point

King hasn't stepped up once when needed. That's what most expect. Sick and tired of saying it, but once again he goes missing. Now we have no chance on Thursday and that will affect the gate, so it's hitting the purse strings.1 point

I might of posted this before but my first and only encounter with Roman was at Sheffield, I was at no7 I think for Oxford ? in as a guest and it was at the start of my career,I remember him staring at me over the pits, I was a nobody but I guess at that point he doesn’t know that,he just sees me a new threat,he just kept looking which was intimidating as I knew exactly who he was and his reputation, think it was in my second ride I was off gate one and him off gate 2, as soon as the tapes went up he just turned left putting me on the grass, I guess looking back he was just stamping his mark on me so as not to go near him not that I was at that level, when I heard of his mysterious death I imagined in my head that he was in some sort of fight on his own against 300 men in some foreign war and giving a good account of himself too, certainly a character and not too bad on a bike either1 point
