Please don't even quote him. I have him on ignore but still see his posts if quoted. đ7 points

Youâve no idea what got said to him only seeing his response, social media is an absolute nightmare for people hiding behind computer screens to abuse others.5 points

Any evidence to support this, or just a typical internet rant that could be completely made up and has gained traction from others who don't like him ? Maybe he was rude, but then again, maybe he was approached a few minutes after returning to the pits after just being done 5-1 in heat 15 ? These riders are putting themselves on the line every time they race, and I would imagine are pretty fired up inside after a bad race. Sometimes fans need to think whether it is a good time to approach a rider or not. Holder is not renowned for being over friendly, so common sense suggests that may have been a bad moment.5 points

Interestingly, if you look at the live updates threads from bank holiday monday, the updaters that day had more races down as 'from the gate' at Belle Vue than at Sheffield. đ4 points

Booo Hooo... I really would give it no thought whatsoever if I was Jack, or Chris... Life moves on, and, guess what, there are a myriad of disappointments to face, so get over it, and quickly..... If Jack Holder had done something to upset my kid which I felt was "out of order", he would have been told there and then... I wouldn't have hidden behind a keyboard... The world nowadays is far too easily offended... Which, in a way, is great... Because there are loads more who now take offence than there used to be to have a pop at......3 points

What's the issue? Lots of respect for Chris... World Champions are a special breed... Met him once on the Monster rig at the SON.. A very decent lad.. Ignore social media knobheads.... Life is too short... And sometimes you come off worst.. Great to see him perform so well on Monday...3 points

Information from Leicester The outcome of that semi-final has an effect on the date of the Grand Final at the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena, Beaumont Park. If Sheffield win on aggregate, the Lions will stage the first leg next Monday, September 23 before travelling up to South Yorkshire three nights later. A Belle Vue victory would mean the Lions travelling to Manchester next Monday and then hosting the second leg on Thursday September 26. So how is it acceptable that they have to wait till the Thursday to know where the final will be raced on the following Monday, when this wasn't acceptable for the semi finals? For "commercial reasons" couldn't Leicester just have agreed to host the home leg first to allow Belle Vue or Sheffield 7 days to publicise their leg of the final? There is nothing anyone could ever say to make me believe the "fixing" of the semi finals is acceptable.3 points

On facebook, that well known platform of truth and honesty !! Everyone is taking her word as gospel and completely discounting Chris Holder's statement that it didn't happen. Is that because they know the woman personally and are confident she would only post the absolute truth ? Or is it because they dislike the Holder family and see an opportunity to jump on the bandwagon ? I wonder how many of those backing her statement would do the same if she said it about Doyle or Nicholls ?2 points
-
Can't really use Doyle as an example, as he'll earn a fortune in Poland and doing the UK in a sense, helps to reduce his Polish costs while keeping on a bike regularly Think people need to work out how to make the sport affordable and a worthwhile sport to participate in for the likes of Lawson, Harris, Thompsons, Rowe etc.2 points

Well the original post was from the childâs mother rather than hearsay. I always think there are 3 sides to every story with the truth being in the middle. if I was jack holder Iâd invite the child and parents in question to Sheffield to watch the play off final and pay for them including a meal in the restaurant. All good publicity and doing the right thing.2 points

If you call abusive behaviour towards kids a grudge then fine I have a grudge Did you read the part where I said how it was nice talking to the Sheffield fans and management at Foxhall recently? But yes the behaviour of a minority of Sheffield fans that night was a disgrace âŚ. Add in the fact that Jack Holder rides for your team and you can see why I donât want Sheffield to win lol2 points

It plain fact that Speedway in GB is not attracting NEW and keeping them fans in any significant numbers. How the Financial side of the Sport is doing just remains the business of the Promotions .Fans Fundraising is a significant contribution at a few Clubs . Fans like myself can only speculate riders costs but certainly figures bandied about make interesting conversations. Everything seems rosy though.đ¤đ¤đ¤ what I do know is they canât keep watering down the product and keep charging rising Admission Prices. Comparing with other activities does not wash with me.Its what Iâm paying to Watch Speedway that matters to me and Iâm sure a lot of other fans.2 points

Nobody apart from Sheffield fans want Sheffield to win ⌠every supporter wants Leicester or Belle Vue For me I canât stand Jack or Tai both need taking down a peg or two Will also never forget the vile Sheffield fans at last years play off final .. Iâve been going since 1980 and never seen a set of fans verbally abuse and give v signs and the hand gesture to kids as young as 8âŚ. Donât say it didnât happen it did âŚ. On the plus side had a good chat with Sheffield fans at Ipswich after the cup final and Steady and Chris Holder âŚ. Jack⌠well he had no time for anyone not even his own fans2 points

The fact that everyone is eager to believe the story without any evidence, should be a wake up call to Jack Holder to improve his attitude & actions, after all he is a professional sportsman, representing his sponsors / clubs / country. Had this story been about Emil Sayfutdinov, I would not have believed it at all!2 points

what has that tweet got to do with sheffield speedway? A they are his own views and B he didn't ride for sheffield in 2019 !2 points

Whatâs with the slagging of owlerton again the NSS is a great racetrack but if the opposition come to owlerton and have a go the racing is good standard. Harris rides our track well I suspect heâll stay at number 5 and ride better than first leg. Picko and Chris is the key partnership they need heat advantages whenever they ride together. Lidsey and Cook not been convincing at all so far this season when visiting Sheffield. prediction, Sheff to win superheat đ¤Š2 points

Good meeting some great racing Hoping Belle Vue have done enough As for Jack Holder the guy is just not a nice human being After the cup final and being an Ipswich fan I spoke and congratulated Chris Holder and Steady and had a good chat ⌠Jack walked past I said well done and he simply smirked Every race tonight didnât acknowledge any of his opponents where as his brother shook hands and when Lidsey beat him he fist pumped him Chris Holder top bloke ⌠Jack Holder arse2 points

Advantage Belle Vue for me at the moment. But we have come back from bigger more in the past. I thought the first half of the meeting was very gate and go, but the racing came alive in the second half of the meeting. As for Jack Holder not shaking hands after the race, who cares. This sport not love island. Personally I don't give a damn.2 points

Promotion & relegation would only work if the Championship teams want to get promoted. Plus it'll never work when there's restricted race nights.2 points

Seven riders teams... 15 heats... Rising Stars.. Rinse and Repeat.. Plenty of options exist... Not enough riders? Then go six, or even five, rider teams in the top league.. Go for 8 rider squads in the 2nd tier? 3 riders to fit 2 places for development? Add in a fit for purpose RR facility and you have a decent base to start from.. The top tier should be the "seller" for the rest of the sport to live off the back of.. At the moment the sport im the UK really is just an opportunity for riders to earn money and promoters to feel good that they run something where some of the worlds best will rub shoulders with them... The winning of any of the team titles is almost irrelevant given the infrastructure that delivers them.. Getting that sorted should be Phil's No 1 priority as, if he can make the titles have some kudos and maybe some proper financial rewards, then growth could happen...2 points

Well done Workington on your 1st season back in championship, lovely set up there, you had a team with a few unknowns and coped well, to make the play offs was an astounding result and you may have gotten further if you had your full team without injuries. Hopefully you can get back some of the Derwent park fans and continue to do well next season. Believe it or not a lot of Glasgow fans were supporting you to do well, shame that there are 1 or 2 Workington fans dislike us, but for the most part you are a friendly lot. You have Steve Lawson who is very well thought off at Glasgow, you also have my fave rider Craig Cook and Claus is also loved by Glasgow fans. I look forward to some friendly rivalry next season.2 points

I've watched speedway for 58 years; I've watched great riders and riders who were not so good. I've seen them come and I've seen them go. But I've never seen a talent like I saw on Thursday night in the Cubs v Colts match at Owlerton. William Cairns is 15 - he must be still at school. But on a track he'd probably never seen before he scored 18 points and was pretty much untouchable. The lad has a prodigious talent and it is without question he will race at GP level before his contemporaries have got their boots on. I will watch his progress with great interest. Mark my words: he is a champion in the making.1 point

I don't think Harris was signed up for the playoffs in order to have a huge impact last night. It was always going to be difficult to find a guest who would 'do a job' everywhere, but Harris does ride well at Sheffield, Leicester, and Ipswich if it had been needed. With regards to putting Chris Holder at 5, this was tried a few times this season but it had an adverse impact as it broke up the Holder/Pickering partnership that works so well at 3 and 4.1 point

To some extent a team managers job is as busy or quiet as you want it to be. A good team manager is usually kept pretty busy in the pits. Riders are kept pretty busy with their bikes and often have no idea of the time or the score. A team managers job is first of all to get everyone together for a track walk then make sure the riders are ready with to go on parade and you would be surprised how many riders arrive an hour or more before the meeting and still have to be chased up to be ready. He has to make sure his riders are ready for each heat ( although the pit Marshall also does that). If a rider is on two minutes and has to sort his bike our with minor repairs the manager has to make sure the time warning is not exceeded. He has to think ahead and have another rider ready to go in case someone touches the tapes, decide on things like reserve swaps and when to use a Tactical Ride , and of course use a bit of psychology to motivate riders and see every race in case he needs to speak to the ref. I would say it varies from meeting to meeting but team managers are kept busier than most people think at times although of course there other times when it all runs like clockwork.1 point

Zmarzlik is the greatest rider this sport has had for the last 5 years and without injury will go on to be the greatest ever, it has never been so open to win a GP as it is today as proven by the different winners this year, with zmarzlik the tittle would be wide open but he has stepped up and his level of consistency is way above anyone else and he does it in an age where GP bike scrutiny is so strict and you canât say that about the mauger/olsen days1 point

Probably fair enough if it had been Johnny come lately... But Peter Oakes is probably the sport's best ever journalist. No need for that last paragraph imo, nothing that couldn't have been settled with a personal email or word. It was exactly that, an opinion piece1 point
