One thing is for certain the turnstiles are clicking, the opening two meetings have been staged in front of very healthy crowds!3 points

Kemp for Castagna does strengthen the Monarchs round Ashfield , plus gives Kemp track time before the real stuff starts next weekend . Palovaara at reserve could be troublesome for us , expect him to get 7 rides . Not sure how the new Monarchs will do , will Murder Polis be murder ? After last week's successful opening weekend for us , I hope we can build more confidence by piling on the points tomorrow night .3 points

And that will always be the case. Theyāre garbage Iām afraid. All of the riders are a bit meh who are a mix of past it riders who no longer can perform on a consistent basis to riders that just arenāt good enough. Thereās just no sparkle there itās all a bit flat. They wonāt make the play offs with the team they have.2 points

You can't keep blaming tracks for your teams generally abysmal record away from the NSS, hope you get out of the car park quicker than you did at King's Lynn š and think of all the cars you'll be passing on the way home with all that dirt on the M1 šš»2 points

If no one in the opposition team can beat Danny king on the night then Emil and Doyle are irrelevant2 points

I can't see it being much good for the sport with it being behind a paywall. I must have not watched speedway for around 13 years then one evening I was browsing the sports channels and saw that there was a meeting on Eurosport, which started drawing my attention back to the sport. That coupled with Woffinden, who I was a fan of as a child, rejoining Sheffield in 2023 brought me back to the sport. I must have watched virtually every English meeting and all but 1 or 2 GPs last year on Eurosport. However, as I must already spend close to £500 a year on sports channels already I can't justify spending another £30.99 for another channel. That coupled with me not being able to get to Sheffield, which is a me problem rather than for the sport itself, I can see how it can be so easy to drift away from the sport.2 points

Ipswich haven't broken any rules, they used them to their advantage. They've out together a superb team and it's highly likely that they'll win the league - and no one would begrudge them that. However the playoffs are different and it can come down to injured riders, riders out of form, overseas commitments and momentum. Speedway by it's very nature, isn't predictable in the long term, that's why we love it.2 points

Very true and very brave of you to point it out on here. Excellent. "STAND UP AND SPEAK UP FOR TRUTH-ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS NOT POPULAR." With some.2 points

Irrespective of whether Cook rides for Berwick or he doesn`t, and no matter what statement the Berwick management cobble together, I think the vast majority of Berwick`s fans will have already made their minds about Cook. His future at Berwick is virtually untenable even now and that`s before a wheel has been turned.2 points

There is no doubt Guy Nicholls has ploughed decent coin into Ipswich but in all fairness, they had years of floating round at the bottom whilst other clubs were splashing the cash so can't really begrudge them even if they are spending big money. The side they have built looks ridiculous, the fact the top 3 are scoring so poor by their own standards and they are still winning is ominous for the rest of the league. When Doyle and Emil get going it will take some team to stop them.2 points

Because you have Peter Schroeck building a side. Him and Courtney are out of their depth. Oxford need to be careful as Schroeck will kill off any feel good factor with his teams. Look at the shambles with the Cheetahs and the young Aussie having no visa/permit1 point

They were all allowed to strengthen up to the same points limit that Ipswich have done. Every club had the same points limit to build to.1 point

Mike has got this badly wrong Iām afraid. A successful team which thumps teams at home will always attract more supporters than turn them away. Thatās the case with ANY sport actually.1 point

Me too and I was watching the stream at home! Track conditions aside, the meeting was close which in itself keeps it interesting. The Aces were fortunate to take it to the last heat in my opinion. Masters retiring was unlucky for the Lions but then there were two borderline refereeing decisions that went against them in my opinion. Each time, the decision went in favour of the rider going down, with the outcome of the re-runs favouring the Aces, Becker excluded when Blodorn went down and āfirst bend bunchingā when Kurtz went down when behind everyone else. All four back after any first bend incident is a cop out and clever riders can manipulate this. Anyway, well done Lions for holding out and hats off to Fricke for his muscle in heat 15.1 point

Track prep was poor again tonight, far too dry, not enough moisture in the track. With a track like ours it needs to be prepared perfectly as it can't rely on it's shape alone.1 point

This looks like entertainment.... It will keep packing them in I am sure....1 point

Just had heat 11 and racing is awful. Only 2 āpassesā because the riders in front went far too wide and gifted it. More dirt on M1 then inside half of track, anyone who goes looking for bit of dirt on outside goes backwards.1 point

Newcastle over the 40 point limit! Typical of them to break the rules š Sad that Erik isnāt riding and with so many ex Bears in the opposition line up should be a close meeting.1 point

Bit of an over the top reaction in my opinion. Yeah the side probably wonāt win the league but letās judge the side once weāve have a few home meetings under our belts. For the majority of the team it was there first meeting of the year last night!1 point

Paco not racing for Edinburgh tomorrow night as racing abroad (seen Drew guesting for him). Possibly that also.1 point

Paco I believe was due to ride abroad on Sunday therefore couldnāt fill a spot in the CLRC but also withdrew from the Pairs due to a crash he had at Armadale on Friday.1 point

I thought I read it on here somewhere, I could very easily have been mistaken though, it has been known to happen. I may have been getting him confused with Paco, who withdrew from the pairs, it could have been him that was riding abroad on the Sunday.1 point

Where did you get that information from? As far as I can see he hasnāt ridden in Poland for a quite a while now, he also hasnāt ridden in any of the pre season individual meetings across there either. The reason he can commit to Berwick is partly due to his lack of overseas commitments, by the looks of it he is only committed to Britain and Denmark currently and the Danish season hasnāt started yet.1 point

King's Lynn have to show some fight tonight even if they lose, A repeat of Monday's battering and it really will be time for a couple of team changes already as it would be another heavy defeat against a team with a powerful spearhead which would tell you everything that you need to know in the long run in regards to King's Lynn.1 point

myself have seen nothing from ipswich that suggest they will walk the league, there was some mitigating circumstances that resulted in our drubbing. but they are sorted now, next time witches face us we will be a different animal. sheffield the team to beat this year1 point

Could happen next season as there will not be any Birmingham speedway after this year.1 point

Well if Bham can run them close, why wouldn't BV be confident of going one better?1 point

All bend 2 except heat 8 which was the only genuine decent race. If you enjoy that kind of meeting, fair play to you. I donāt like seeing things settled after 5-6 seconds.1 point

Absolute shambles and embarrassing from Oxford, not like theyāve had months to sort his visa out or anything.1 point

I feel very lucky to be able to watch Emil & Jason week in week out not to mention 3 of the best young British riders out there. Weāre also fortunate to have the most forward thinking & professional owner who gets great backing from local business. The future of the premiership at its current level could be in doubt if the rumours about Birmingham & now Sheffield having their stadium sold are true. Emil might choose not to ride in the uk after this season. I plan on enjoying the ride while these top guys are here. What makes it all the sweeter is knowing that there is one very bitter & jealous Belle Vue fan who canāt handle it!1 point

Guy paid less than Sackers recycling did before him for a good few years. He couldnāt believe he got it for a āsongā. That isnāt the case now but thatās only due to inflation and rising costs all around. The partner sponsors are very good at Ipswich. Collectively they help hugely.1 point

You seem to be someone who has plenty to say on the matter but doesn't have a clue about mental illness, what it entails, varying forms of it and how it affects people differently. But most importantly, NOBODY knows what is really going on apart from Craig and his family. So maybe pipe the hell down and be patient for official news, because at the moment you are just coming across as heartless, and most of all, stupid.1 point

Just been reviewing my updates from the meeting. Two passes in heats 2 & 3 down to rider error. Genuine passes: H6 - 1 H8 - 4 H11 -1 H13 -1 H15 - 1 Discuss1 point

Dirt or no dirt, I think the trick to a "decent" track (any track) is keeping the moisture in it, as soon as it goes dry, you're on a hiding to nothing racing wise. Back in the day you'd often see the water cart coming out after every race, just for a lap or 2, during dry periods to keep on top of the track.1 point

There was a couple of seasons back to back where sadly, youād now have to describe them as his peak years where every meeting these highlight heats were uploaded and he was the centre of every one of them. He was like Cowboy Cook on steroids! Spectacular to watch around Foxhall. Swept all before him at junior level and had the world at his feet. Had the talent to go right to the top but tragically, not the professionalism or the will and determination to do so.1 point

I would expand that bracket to the general population for the record (1st paragraph). A wise man once said to me "you never know what is going on under a riders helmet". I agree I hope Craig can sort himself out. Why Berwick signed him? Pass! Why he agreed to sign for Berwick? Pass!1 point

Poole fans just can't handle the fact that some riders will and do turn them down for a number of reasons not just financial Ego far bigger than brain with some of them. Especially Skidder1 remember that bloke!1 point

Correct decision in the final looking at the video. Riss got over the top of Kerr and never locked up in front of Kerr. Think Kerr was surprised/panicked by Riss getting over the top of him and lost control momentarily causing the collision.1 point
