Better tracks....apart from BV the Prem doesn't have an awful lot. Champ has Glasgow, Worky, Scunny, Redcar which are all very good.6 points

They say that lightning doesn't strike twice in the the same place. It did at Leicester. As a Sheffield supporter i have to take my hat off to the lions. They took us apart twice in two weeks. But I have to make some observations, not complaints, on what I have seen in the last week. I had never been to Leicester before last week and I must say that I think that it is a gaters track, having said that, having said that to say that there was no passing is not true it is just that it is done in the 30yards comming out of bend 2. Every time the Sheffield riders were in point scoring positions they were passed with some amasing acelerations from the home riders. This must be down to engine set up. I have been around the sport long enough to know that youu can build an engine that will fly on a specific track. I think that that is what the Lions riders have done. The other thing that I noted was the fact that it seemed impossible to ride the wide line. I think that 95% of the racing was done on the inside 30% of the track. This must be down to the track shape and the camber of the corners. Unfortunately this does not lend itself to producing spectical. I must admit the we are spoiled at Sheffield with riders scrapeing the fence every week but it does get exiting. This is not a moan about getting beaten just a few observations. The riders are professionals and shoulld be able to make adjustments to get the best out their equipment. As for them being too friendly, theirs is a very small community and they see each other week in and week out. Add to that there are some very strong friendships away from the track. All that I and everyone else asks is that the gloves come off as they go to the tapes. Having confidence in your fellow riders is an important part of the sport. Once again well done Leicester on two great demolition jobs.4 points

Not trying to upset everyone here on the forum but I wouldn't say this is the main fan base for speedway, it’s just a voice for a few fans, half the people on here pick and choose meetings and aren’t loyal ‘every week go to support your home club’ fan. FYI I go to every home match at foxhall and try to go to what I can away again… people can decide to go to what they want, this isn’t a dig at anyone, just got to take everyone’s comments on here with a pinch of salt and don’t think this is the same view of the mass people who go to meetings.4 points

Even if the new signing decides he is Australian & not British, Edinburgh are still doing more for British riders development than any club who didn't enter the NL/NT. Plus last year they held a NDL series individual when they didn't have to.4 points

He lives in Poland, is married to a Polish girl and only wants to do two leagues so no surprise he doesn't ride here. Nicholls and Bewley have also ducked the UK in the past, maybe it says more about British Speedway than the riders themselves.3 points

In the 60,s and 70,s there was a far more competetive edge to league meetings but there wasnt the situation where riders were team mates one night and opponents the next, i think that has taken away the intensity there used to be.3 points

Very unfortunate and a rider I like very much. Comes across as articulate and a very nice chap. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Who can take his rides if r/r?2 points

You've been on the forum long enough to appreciate that discussions develop on various threads.2 points

Offered much better money to ride in a better league in Poland which everyone would take (and if you say you wouldn't you're lying)...felt that track prep in the UK was poor and dangerous (which at some tracks it was) so no longer wanted to ride here...but it was his responsibility to stay and try and save British speedway?! Utterly ridiculous. The Tai bashing by some is so tiresome. Any excuse. It's just boring now. The guy is the most successful rider this country has produced, he has only ever wanted to see British speedway flourish, and our current status as reigning SON champions is down to him wanting things changed from the top down with Team GB. He instigated that. He championed it. Where we are now is due to him. So I'd say personally he has done the complete opposite of not helping British speedway. He has gone on record as saying he would love to further help the sport in this country, the guy is an asset that, if used by the BSPL, would help revolutionise British speedway. But the suits would rather plod along as we are, staring at the abyss...2 points

The other side of that argument is that he could be missing out on additional revenue from fans who don’t want to/can’t attend, if he’s broadcasting the stream..2 points

You must have missed the 500 million IPL viewers turning away from cricket because opposition players sometimes have a laugh with each other. Darts rapidly increasing in popularity? Fake news. Nobody's interested because the players are too friendly during matches. And as for PL football. A sharp decrease in interest because of all the hugging before and after matches, discussions on the pitch, subs from opposition sides having conversations whilst warming up, managers sharing a joke etc. Or maybe they just take no notice because it happens everywhere.2 points

You often see F1 drivers mixing, especially on the drivers parade truck2 points

I find that the case at the tracks as well. Generally a bunch of miserable old sods 😜2 points

Even it's heyday riders mixed with other. In Gps riders watch races together etc .in Poland over the weekend riders were mixing together.. its always been the same.2 points

Can someone tell Rew that its a bit early to start lowering your average for next season !?2 points

Wind up!!😀 I think most clubs are 'sounding out' riders for next season - without being certain of what the league structure and points limit are going to be!! Failing to plan is planning to fail, as they say......2 points

Both TNT and BSN seem to be showing poor match ups at present and totally wasting their time at tracks like Birmingham, Leicester and Kings Lynn where the tracks are not known to provide decent racing.2 points

After the pressure on them in Poland at the weekend's, every week, during the season, it must be light relief to turn up at UK Speedway venues and "enjoy" their evening's racing... Racing with a lot less riding on the result, with, for most riders, zero chance of getting replaced regardless of performances.. (In fact, sometimes the worse you do can actually help you get a job the season after!).. It does all seem very "matey" though doesn't it? Which isn't a good look if you want the viewers to believe they are watching top level professional sport that has some jeapordy, and consequence for winning and losing.. Let's hope the GP's deliver some proper sporting drama and excitement to help showcase the sport...2 points

You are concentrating so much that literally anything can trigger you flinching, whenever I was gate 2 or 3 I would always look forward at the tapes rather than across the guy off 1 or 4, it’s strange but even if you off 1 looking at the magnet and someone off 2 jumps it can still make you jump, you can’t see them as you looking other way but it’s like you can sense a movement, that moment between green light and tapes going up is so intense2 points

If I won the lottery I would make an offer to Bartosz to ride for Ipswich which he would find difficult to refuse. He would rejuvenate UK speedway in one stroke and put bums on seats as did Gollob.1 point

Well if Kurtz and bewley don’t take it to him this weekend then the title race is all but over, this is their chance on a plate but I still think zmarzlik will be on the podium both days1 point

I was watching the French Open final on Sunday the Players were having a laugh with each other during the match..I quickly switch off along with the 100 million world wide to go on the Speedway Forum to see if anyone had made comment on it. I won't watching Tennis again that's for sure1 point

I think it can work if you have riders like Pickering who are willing to attack it. It certainly didn't help the racing that Sheffield were just so poor, especially from the gate and were just team ridden out for 4 laps in many heats.1 point

On a positive, and not to be horrid to the other riders, but I am slightly happy I didn’t see lambert or Hume in the line up, as harsh as that sounds.1 point

Funny.... where did you hear Rushen was a done deal? A few murmurs at Leicester tonight that he's quite keen on one of your main rivals.1 point

Weren’t really bothered will be in Top 4 and small wage bill to boot.1 point

He must have impressed with his 3 points in the junior meeting at Poole last week. No idea why Jody Scott isn’t riding. Was looking forward to this meeting, not so much now. With a full team I felt we could push Poole close, much more difficult if we are short handed.1 point

Jeez yeah Jordy Nelson was a wide receiver for the Green Bay packers a few years ago, god knows how that was in my head, thankfully wasn’t me writing the release haha1 point

Don't think he would want to ride that rough Ipswich track anyway, he prefers the silky smooth Owlerton circuit.1 point

Wasn't many at Plymouth last year either when the comets were down 🤪 will see how many more fans you have when I'm back down in August 😄1 point

I think the loss of Birmingham and the rumoured loss of Oxford and Sheffield from the Premiership at the end of this season will adversely impact Poole’s (as yet unconfirmed but likely) desire to run a 2026 team with Cairns, Rushen and Bailey. Surely some drastic restructuring will be forced onto British speedway for next year with an equalisation amongst all those sides who opt in.1 point

I know but at least put it on Facebook, twitter etc like other clubs would have1 point
