The Ben Cook injury and covering for him when he was #5 in the averages was the main issue but it was Kvech getting cleaned up in Gorzow which was the dagger to the heart of Lynn's season. Away wins at BV and Brum went begging as a result and he struggled with his shoulder for a while after. No surprise that we are finishing strongly with the top six all present and fit! As you say what might have been (an all too familiar tale).4 points

nope theyve won with a heat to spare if cook was already down to be in 13 i dont think he was ever doing four on the trot (potentially five) hence luke getting his fourth ride4 points

Cami Brown in the 'official' Glasgow summary! He should be reported/fined/disciplined for 'bringing the sport into disrepute' and encouraging a hostile atmosphere in the return leg, at which I hope they have a strong, fully neutral ref as they won't have the benefit of any TV/stream replays.4 points

You mean Glasgow spend money on dirt, equipment, facilities for the riders instead of trips to Vegas, big win bonuses for only the 1st match of the season against Glasgow. Are the financial reasons that bad you cant afford some dirt, diesel to run more than one tractor and get your track man an extra pair of hands ?! As for affording Nagel ,what exactly you talking about? The no sign on fee, uses club bike/and club mechanic (who only charges fuel and food), the fact he showed interest in coming to Glasgow after the SGP2 before Glasgow even approached him And your knowledge of the Workington situation isnt even worth commenting on, other than if you think you know half a story take it as you know hee haw. As for the ref's decisions, is what it is, after 15 heats Poole won, no complaints here, thats sports. But there is absolutely no excuse to scrape the track bare on every grade. Tracks come alive after heat 7, Wimborne becames a soulless dirt track after heat 7. If you have a win at all costs attitude then fair play thats your call, but lets stop the BS denial of what you do to achieve that win, and the impact that has for fan entertainment and the core fundamental of bikes riding on dirt. Ironically your team building would still be as strong as they are now with a home track prepared and graded to actually race on,only difference is fans would see what speedway should look like on a regualr basis and not just a handful of heats here and there.3 points

Yes but the club nurse called that one off in the end if I remember correctly 😂3 points

I'm afraid if you're charging fans £25 to get into the stadium (not to mention £3 parking & £4 for a prog) and there's no further rain there is no excuse for not running the meeting!3 points

I hear Glasgow have a new sponsor - Kleenex !!! Lol (sob sob) 3 first turn bunching calls - though maybe we should put a big sign up for Dayle Wood next time he comes to Wimborne Rd - TURN LEFT!!! Leon Flint lost control coming out of turn 2 and never regained it - so fell off on turn 3 - right call. Lewi and Anders both off form - but great stuff from the other 5 and heat 15 alone was worth the gate money.3 points

Can’t see Ipswich getting close especially without Ellis Sheffield have good home track advantage and the way the track is with only one line a millimetre from the fence I don’t care what the result is as long as we get away unscathed3 points

Nothing better than a Cami meltdown, one of the worlds finer sights.2 points

If it was Testimonial they would have pottered round and took the fans money though.Dont leave the house if there is a cloud in the sky these days.2 points

I remember going down to Wimbledon in horrible weather and seeing a good meeting, modern day machinery wouldnt be able to handle the conditions, though according to reports there were riders willing to give it a go at Sheffield.2 points

Our riders aren't rich. Just ask our reserves. Most of the money they've invested is on the stadium infrastructure. Also, not sure how helping another team out can be seen as winning at all costs, especially as that team isn't winning anything this year!2 points

Those were the days and it separates the men from the boys. Sawdust, overalls, racing and the track comes good. Today no chance. Wimps the lot and it shows the contempt they have for the punter. Not even willing to give it a try and how many times in years gone by have riders put in some effort to race and then justify calling it off. Today not even a wheel is turned. It sums up why the sport has no credibility.2 points

Richard Lawson paid 14 at Kings Lynn tonight ,wow what a season he is having.2 points

I'm not questioning the efforts of the track staff, 100% kudos for their effort. Fans should not be admitted entry to the stadium until the match is declared as going ahead... this kind of thing does the sport no favours at all... just another cut to die by. Called off by the SCB, who have zero financial investment in the sport, just choosing who and when to apply their tin pot rules to.2 points

Moron. If you'd seen the effort of the track staff you'd have seen we wanted that meeting on. And what advantage does Sheffield have from not running it? Because I can tell you now having to hire out owlerton another night isn't cheap. According to picko over intercom the ref listened to both sets of riders, some were good to give it a go and others weren't. Because they couldn't come to an agreement they've called it off.2 points

So what happens with it now? Run it Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday or don't run it before play offs? This is why shouldn't have had meeting in for next Thursday just have been blank just in case.2 points

And that's why Speedway is finished in the UK, Got no chance of attracting new fans unfortunately. No intention of getting the meeting on but they wanted to squeeze as much money out of the punters as possible so they left them standing around for an hour.2 points

We are not in the Premiership for financial reasons and I do not think Glasgow can accuse anyone of win at all costs considering how much money they seem throw at it and can afford to get someone like Nagel and at the same time help Workington out.2 points

UK speedway was never ran professionally & the great chance of creating a future was blown when the Sky money was wasted. The fact that the poles have a product that attracts huge crowds, investment form business & more than one tv company broadcasting the league live is down to their hard work & running the sport professionally.2 points

Sounds like a good old fashioned meeting... Plenty of needle, plenty of moaning, and plenty of atmosphere... Should sell the 2nd leg very well... More of the same there to keep the crowd involved...2 points

Usual absolute nonsense from Cami & likes the smoke & mirrors. it was always a big ask to win at Poole or even keep the score reasonable. I think the Tigers might just have enough to win over the aggregate score & Cami gets the team winning pic he so desperately wants.2 points

Tbf wood never even tried turning the bike on the 2nd attempt of that re run,no way thomsen should have gone there is this cami brown for real you never see Neil come out in the press like this,he needs to stop whining like a little child.2 points

I watched the Poole live stream and at one stage it was clear fans were having a go at Dan Thompson and his father on the way back into the pits. In addition to that, after Leon’s crash, Freddy Hodder was out on track to help him back in, on the way they both had a verbal altercation with Poole fans, I’ve no idea what was said but the Poole commentators both commented on it at the time.2 points

I think back then though it was used more to help young riders gain experience and develop rather than make up the numbers because there was a rider shortage.2 points

Back to the 6 pm start this weekend but on a Sunday evening when the Comets take on the Berwick Bandits for our last home League fixture of the season, where did that year go!! This meeting sees a return of former Workington favourite Peter Kildemand who will feel at home on the wide open spaces of the Northside track. Berwick will be no push overs and pose a real threat with a strong top five and two reserves in Dayle Wood and Jack Smith who have ridden the Workington track a few times in the past. Hopefully this weeks rain will not have too much affect on the track and Berwick bring lots of fans over , this really makes a difference to the atmosphere and brings in much needed revenue.1 point

Its the reason fans dont travel away if there is the slightest doubt about the weather, years ago down went the sawdust on went the overalls and away they went. Nowadays with the modern bikes not a chance of that happening, i cant comment here as i didnt see the track but as some wanted to ride and others didnt i would imagine the referee would go with the majority?1 point

Every track in the country has been in this position - everything good to go and then the rain hits. The track staff worked their arses off for about 1.5 hours trying to get it raceable. Some riders were happy, some weren’t. It wasn’t a case of getting the people in and then calling it off, you could see that they were genuinely trying to get it on, but if the riders won’t play ball, what can the promotion do about it? its crap, but as said, there isn’t a track in the country where this hasn’t happened, it’s an unfortunate part of our sport.1 point

Doesn’t look great but a great pass from Rew on Masters however - been 2-3 good heats so far!1 point

Doing the SRBF collection before the match? After a heavy rain shower earlier... 🤔. Do I detect an incoming shambles?1 point

🤣🤣 That’s the spirit! I actually agree with you on Tobi, both Lynn and Brum were miss sold. As desperate as UK speedway is, he may be lucky to get offered a team place next season.1 point

So three of those were first bend bunching where both Poole and Glasgow riders fell. Flint was correctly excluded. Sorry but it’s sour grapes. Of the three falls on bend one all four back. Fair. Cami is coming across as a bad loser.1 point
-
Doesn’t really matter who was in front at the time, you can’t ride through someone, Flint was in front entering the corner and (whilst the video evidence isn’t conclusive) if Cook came through and collected Flint on the way he should have been excluded.1 point

Regarding the 6 pm start, just hope we have no major delays, as now it's starting to get dark around 8 pm , also as we have not had a Ben fund collection, maybe someone could confirm if this is going to happen on the nite. Whatever, hope the showers stay away, and the fans of both teams turn up for the last team meeting of the season. UTC 😄🏁🔵⚪1 point

You could probably say that about most meetings, not a fan of Turnbull but no obvious mistakes from her in my opinion.1 point

Because all the forum experts, who speak in code to each other, are alledgedly in the know through conversations with riders, mechanics, promoters and team managers. IE speculating and guessing.1 point
