Well we were never at the races all night but somehow we go to Wimborne Road only 12 down. Clearly our worst performance in a long, long time but we battled second half to give ourselves a chance. The track was appalling. Truly dreadful and passing was no existent. Dust and blue groove which Lee Kirby said was there and no rider would go off it. Every chance of going through when it looked at one stage we would get a heavy thumping.

UK Speedway also isn't taken as seriously by a good many riders who ride in Poland... "Much more fun to do"... "You can ride often with, and against your mates"... "No pressure, not like in Poland"... Quotes from the past couple of years from some who ride in Poland every weekend... Maybe machinery too isn't up to the levels of some who just ride the UK? Cracking evening. Decent crowd considering the forecast - although would have been bigger had more Poole fans made the trip. Lot less Pirates' fans tonight than Coventry brought a fortnight ago. Track prepared for rain that didn't come, but still favoured those who attacked it. such as Mitch McDiarmid. What a performance from Dayle Wood - masterclass in gating and also lovely team-riding in Heat 8 to ensure the 5-1.

Enjoyed tonight, good to see some action after all that’s gone on recently. The crowd wasn't that bad, but obviously the weather played a part. The Unipart car park situation was a bit embarrassing, but hopefully sorted for next week. The highlight for me was the Poole reaction when Killeen was excluded and then Wood replacing him for a 5-1 with Masters. I will say for all those complaining about the track, for us to even have any Speedway to watch is something to be thankful for.

A lot of criticism from Poole fans for the track tonight and.... they are right. It was awful. There was a lot speculation about how equipment/tractors, etc. had been removed over the past week, but reckon some must have missed the huge lorry load of shale that was clearly taken away. That said, it was the same for both teams, and Poole should be used to that sort of surface. If Erik had been available, it would have been a hammering.

I'm not so sure myself. I think Jan is just a 7 pointer (6.91) last season. Hes defiantly a trier though. He might up that a little this season, in a slightly weaker league.

Nora are like the ACU but cheaper and better many MX clubs have moved over to them over the years pretty sure the top man (Barton I think his name was)used to work for the ACU and set it up when they were ripping off the mx for licences and insurance for meetings

I'm still not seeing the charity - they qualified for this via the SoN, nobody has handpicked Ukraine to ride in this. They've also ridden in every SoN bar one, even before Russia invaded, so that doesn't stack up either. Out of curiosity, who would you pick for the Russian team? Presumably Artem and Emil are a no-go, now they're Polish citizens? Guess we'd be back to 2021 with Vladimir Borodulin, Sergey Logachev and Mark Karion, when they finished below France and Latvia.

Paco really should have beaten King in heat 8, he had the chance to block his outside run but was too polite and left plenty of room. I actually thought he rode pretty well after heat 1 and given a few meetings on a track he had seldom ridden he could be solid. Cooper isn't going to fail to beat an opponent very often IMO but we shall see. Pointing fingers at riders one home meeting in is a bit early IMO.

The trouble with you doing this (and we’re all guilty of it at times) is you’re looking at it through your Lynn spectacles. You’ve looked down the scorecard and picked out one score from a rider that you think should have improved on his tally, and yet ignored that Ben Cook scored paid 15. Yes, it’s a poor performance this time around from Kvech who is usually better than that, but you won’t get paid 15 from Cook every week either so if you took four points off him and added it to Kvech’s score then nobody would bat an eyelid and it’d look about right. With my Ipswich spectacles on, I look at a combined 11 from Lawson and Musielak and I’m disappointed with that and would hope that would be improved upon next time, and the same for a 3 point return from Bangs. I’d expect improvement there also next time around. What ifs is an impossible game to play and we can only deal with what IS. As has been said before, you could ride 10 meetings on the same track with exactly the same riders and not get the same scoreline twice.

Just watched the footage and seen the photos. While I’ve seen the plans several times, that acoustic barrier is really noticeable and has taken away some of the best viewing spots. However, the old girl still looks great and the remodelled track amazing. It’s a shame we only saw one season on it and I’d say it was the best. I wish everyone involved the best of luck in getting speedway back to that iconic stadium sometime soon.

We can dine on last year for 12 months no problem. We’ll defend our title properly in ‘27 when we have the same opportunity as everyone else to build our team 😁
