Decent result in the Slovenian championship a few weeks back, fair play to Plymouth they are giving things ago. would have been very easy and cheap to have just called Bowtell up again but they’re trying something new and it has to be applauded4 points

Its never boring when you win. I realise losing an entertaining meeting can be enjoyable but sport is about winning. Crowds do not turn up for teams that lose every week.4 points

As I say, it can still be a great night out... If you go for the racing and not take the team sport angle too seriously.. If they could harness the racing into a "proper team sport" operating model, (like other countries do), then that would truly be a game changer for many who no longer regularly attend, and may also then generate some sponsorship interest from "outside" the sport.. Tom Brennan will be up against the Aces this Monday and has so far this season ridden for fhe Aces as many times as he has for hs own team... That is the kind of thing that makes it more "sports entertainment"....3 points

What did people think of the crowd? Huge credit to the track staff, it rode really well considering the elements. Also all fourteen riders who put on a decent spectacle especially when it is early doors.3 points

Don't let a Poole fans hear you say that 😆 Anyway, I have seen mostly from the gate matches kept exciting by a close score. But a 60-30 match could be exciting if the Scunthorpe keep gating & Workington keep passing.3 points

If we are honest... It's not really is it?... More like "Sports Entertainment"... Which can still be a decent night out.. As for Scott? A fantastic rider and career, and also very good in front of a camera.. Hope he enjoys, safely, what (maybe} his last season.. He owes the sport nothing...3 points

Fair assessment but it’s very early days for all teams let’s see how it unfolds over the coming weeks. We are still in a very strong position in the group and let’s be honest this trophy is just a warm up to blow away the cobwebs. Not taking anything away from Berwick who we’re the better team tonight and deserved the win , whilst we stumbled over the line for the bonus point mainly thanks to Leon Flint.2 points

There were some excellent races but also a lot of strung out heats, feel that the venue would benefit massively from floodlights so the track guys aren't battling with the wind AND the sun. The shape is amazing and I don't think the circuit has fulfilled its potential yet.2 points

Just because a few people say one thing doesn't mean everyone else agrees - there's always a bell curve of views and opinions on most results. If you choose to be annoyed at some of those, so be it. I think your style of reply is no better than people you claim are "keyboard warriors" - which is a remarkably tired old phrase. In the early days of the internet, those of us who dared to question the BSPA were tarred with all sorts of epithets. What a shame they didn't make use of all the ideas and energy on offer. I don't expect the Witches to win on Monday, so anything over 40 will be good score as far as I'm concerned. Anything from 45 upwards would be a pleasant bonus. It won't change my life any more than watching my life-long team win cups and leagues has done over the last 50+ seasons.2 points

I’m with you there but unfortunately this goes against the majority of the cartel and those on here. I hated Cradley back in the day but marvelled at the racing antics of Jan O etc. Yes we may have lost but the speedway was exquisite. Bigger picture thinking by looking to make the sport as a whole more appealing doesn’t go down well with the old school currently strangling our wonderful sport. We are now in the era where winning is all and if that means tedious gate’n’go speedway then so be it. The problem there is if you are a newbie who is not yet invested in the team then the lack of thrills and entertainment means you ain’t coming back.2 points

I would say crowd slightly down from the usual but still ok, the rain all week and the forecast probably kept some away. But our diehards that come from far afield made the journey. Aberdeen, Greenock, Pitlochry, Stirling etc, they all made the trip down.2 points

Scotty never gives up on chasing the pack and his knowledge in the pits will give added value to those with less experience. I hope you are wrong for this stalwart of British Speedway who never knows when he is beaten. That aside does it really matter who comes out on top as long as the sport survives and punters enjoy the evenings racing.2 points

Expect we’ll get dry humped here 🙈 Not going to be a good track for us this one and neither will Sheffield. Poor old Scotty will be like a sitting duck and I’d be surprised is he scores a single point.2 points

If anybody runs into a Northamptoningham fan at King's Lynn can you explain to them why they've not been knocked out of the Knock Out Cup if they lose 😁2 points

Maybe he wasn’t put in as a tac sub because that would of meant he was out in heats 10,11 and 121 point

Well that was a good season opener for us, not much passing but plenty exciting races, what a home debut by Reid outstanding,Mario in heat one for 99.9 % of the race, and a good night for Leon, not so much for Bomber,I thought in heat 13 Peter and Nick forgot they in the same team for the first couple of laps 😂 onwards and upwards hopefully, mention also the great support the Tigers always bring to Berwick1 point

Brilliant Debut .certainly a talent on bike.Fast and smooth and stylish.1 point

Bad day at the office for Bomber happens to the best of them. There ware others that we should be more concerned about, but Bomber will bounce back.1 point

Berwick deserved the win and I don't think they will lose at home. For Glasgow to get the bonus with only 3 riders performing, was a feat in itself. Bomber had probably his worst meeting in a long time. Jury is out on Mario, not sure how much time he will be given. Leon , Kevin and Kyle were the main stay and deserve applaud. Disappointed with Freddie and Sam, thought they would have done better. Reid Battye take a bow, he was exceptional, r/r strengthened the bandits. They look like play off contenders this season.1 point

It's sport and anything can happen (sometimes 😉) that's why we all follow it. I'm not one for making predictions as you can often end up with egg on your face and it's all a bit pointless imo, I much prefer to comment on what has happened. I was expecting a hiding at Sheffield last Thursday and unbelievably we came away with an 8 point win, it only takes 1 "decent" rider to have an off night, or the track to be not quite the "usual" and that can have a massive effect on the final result.1 point

Talk about a stewards enquiry !!! Ukraine had Parnitskyi at reserve( U 21) and missed getting to the final as best placed 2nd by 1 point. Parnitskyi was only given 2 rides when he could have had 6 !!!!1 point

Apologies if it came across a bit strong. I just think we might surprise a few. After all most, including myself wrote Peterborough off a few years ago.1 point

Some decisions blow my mind. Leon should have been given the T/S ride. Would argue Leon should be out in 15 too, and I'd bet my money now that he's not!1 point

Steve has forgot more about tracks than we will ever know so cut him a little slack, plus perhaps the team were happy with it !1 point

FYI parts of the centre green are still under water, and have been for weeks, so unable to get onto the centre green to cut it, unless you want to come down with a pair if scissors to cut it 😜1 point

Best meeting I've seen so far, some great racing.1 point

A minor gripe but yet another track who doesn’t mow their centre green before being live on the TV/stream. Such an easy way to make the place look much neater and tidier.1 point

Happens every season with the KOC. Even this year it's easy to explain, teams finishing 2nd & 3rd of the group get "knocked out" of the competition!1 point

Can see a Tigers win unless one of our reserves has a very good night.1 point

I have both eyes open and a metaphorical baseball bat to beat the BSF/BSPL cartel with. I can acknowledge it’s a losing battle though.1 point

Credit to both teams on serving up a very good nights racing in not ideal conditions. Promising from both our new signings with more to come from them.1 point

Proper speedway, done and dusted by 9.05pm to try and avoid the advancing rain. Minimal tractor grading, lets have this every week.1 point
-
The downpour late afternoon definitely didn't help track conditions, but I think it's something they need to get on top of. Saying that, those who attacked the track like Scott and Thomsen reaped the rewards. Best I have seen Thomsen at Redcar and Grahn and Paco both chipped in. Scott and Pijper I thought both excellent and Allen, Edwards and Jenkins all ride well. Will 12 be enough? I'm not sure.1 point

Could be a tough one for Berwick. Some of the bandits have had little track time. lasse has done well at Berwick in the past, Palovaara hasn’t ridden here much, Battye never been round the place competitively. I think if the new bandits can hit the ground running it will be close but some of the Tigers know the place like the back of their hand. Hopefully a close meeting with a bandits win of course 😉1 point

I get my copy from Tesco every week, largely out of nostalgia and loyalty. Magazines are outdated in the current world, but British speedway’s lack of coverage dictates the vast majority of it is actually new information. I do feel like the content needs improving. Give us more insight, less reporting. Alun Rossiter’s interview a couple of weeks ago was interesting, as are the manager interviews because they give fans a perspective they’re unfamiliar with.1 point

No, definitely two different people, but both with the same weakness: ££££. Neither is remotely interested in speedway; hence Park speaking for the demolition of the Abbey Stadium recently and now dissolving the company that he had been left with after the death of Terry Russell.1 point
