We do have the second leg to go but, due to other commitments, there's a relatively high chance that Monarchs will have to run fan replacement in my absence. I plan to serve my 28 day ban in November.4 points

Let’s be honest team building for this season has been a big anti-climax compared to previous years , Signing Hausl and Hagon were major red flags and even resigning Hodder was very questionable.3 points

Totally agree guests are not a necessary evil. Any professional team sport shouldn’t have the option to bring in guests from a rival team who’s performance could have a negative impact on their contracted club. Like wise doubling up needs cutting back & eventually scrapped.3 points

Once a national title is in the calendar then no other meeting should run against it, rearranged or otherwise; pretty straightforward you'd have thought.3 points

Guests are 100% not a necessary evil, as, if they were, then all leagues would have to use them.. The very fact they don't shows the sport can be ran without them... The issue is that now it has become part and parcel of the operating model in the UK, and fundamentally ingrained in the way the sport is ran... Providing promoters with lazy, easy to implement options, (and even a chance to improve their team), and it gives riders a chance to earn some decent money, (sometimes more than their own teams guarantee and points money)... In short, everyone is happy... If there are not enough riders then reduce the number of riders per team, (Denmark seem to run well with five per team, and eight teams)... If implemented this could free up 12 riders for next season's current six teams, with these riders, as you suggest, riding in tier two but coming in on short term replacement contracts... Or just implement a fit for purpose RR system which doesn't involve your No1 being replaced by two second strings, (or reserves if the manager chooses).. Riders 5 and 3 should be allowed to cover all the missing No1's rides, (f the manager chooses), and for the rest of the team, then the riders above and below the missing rider can take two each.. With a number eight coming in for a missing number seven.. You still then win or lose as a "proper team" and credibility is maintained.. The way UK runs its Speedway is just lazy and contrived, as they can plan in fixtures, with known clashes, and then just use Guests to cover the missing riders... Removing the Guest "Get out of jail free card" would mean a far more disciplined, and much better thought out, and organised approach, to the whole running of the sport.. Which can only be a good thing... NB. Tier two can still do "whatever they want", but the top tier should always be seen as a credible bona fide, professional, sporting league...3 points

Not a good week for BSN, with a meeting called off due to non weather events and another meeting not going the distance, neither the fault of the Network but I think there will be come a time where they will have to approach those in charge and tell them to get their act together because the clubs are killing their business. They can only film what is in front of them but if that is rubbish, people will stop buying it, it suddenly occurred to me why has the tracks suddenly become so hard to get right in terms of preparation and vulnerability to being called off? and the think the answer is Clay, until this season I never heard word clay and speedway in the same sentence but we hear it all the time now, tracks are now more clay that shale and it’s ruining it. Clay is cheaper than shale so just bung more clay on it, it’s like painting a piece of art on kitchen towel, it doesn’t matter how well you do it, it still comes out looking like crap.2 points

If you want to keep the sport at its current level guests & doubling up makes no difference because no one takes it too seriously. However if you want to grow the sport bring in investment more sponsorship then the doubling up & guest rulings do become a problem. Thats why Poland are restricting where riders can ride outsider of their league to limit the risk of those riders being injured thus damaging their product. I also recall earlier this year reading an article where at least one polish club owner wanted to get to a point where riders competed for one club in one country only.2 points

A great comeback from the Comets to win the meeting, well done to Jonas and captain Batch on a great 5-1 in ht 15 . What can you say about Troy Batchelor a great team man for the Comets for 3 years now, if he does carry on in 2027 he will certainly be welcomed back at Workington in my humble opinion. Hope the gentleman who had a fall in the pits is ok . Great to see the Comets back in 2027.2 points

Awwww. Martin Ashby. What a rider. I was totally obsessed with the guy as a teenager. I remember the first time I ever went to Swindon Speedway. Swindon v Wolves in 1974. I stood on the apex of the first and second bends. First race I saw - Martin Ashby of Swindon beating some foreign bloke called Ole Olsen and breaking the track record. Amazing. He had the best style of any rider. Take any picture of Martin Ashby riding, and you could put it into any other picture of him. He always looked exactly the same in every picture. So stylish, but possibly not aggressive or ruthless enough sometimes, which probably cost him a place in my first ever World Final in 1975. That race with Ray Wilson was over 50 years ago now, and I'm still traumatised by it! I even took my FS1-E to his garage once for a service - just so I could say my moped was serviced by Martin Ashby. After he retired, he was regular supporter at Blunsdon. Always in the same spot - near to the tea hatch going into the first bend - as though he were just another supporter. No heirs and graces at all. RIP Martin Ashby. What a guy!2 points

RHAG are pleased to announce that the Planning Inspector has agreed to our application for formal Appeal Party status (Rule 6 Party) and to change the nature of the Appeal to a Hybrid Appeal – a hearing on 21 October 2026 followed by two days as a Planning Inquiry on 22–23 October 2026. This is an important development, as the Planning Inquiry will provide a formal opportunity for RHAG to present evidence and make the case for the future of Speedway at Rye House. We are asking supporters and the wider community to sign the petition and submit their objections at https://www.ryehouse.racing/. All submissions will be passed on to the Planning Inspector and will help demonstrate the strength and depth of community interest in the future of Rye House Stadium.2 points

When you are racing the outside noise sort of passes you by, you tend to get caught up in the actual racing until after the meeting but even saying that you can create an decent atmosphere with 500 people and being Ipswich you would think there would be well over 1000, so really it’s the type of people that are there rather than the numbers, clubs need to start thinking about rent a crowd to start creating an atmosphere which I believe a couple of clubs have tentatively tried1 point

Fair assessment, Loftus and Cluff only turned up on a few occasions this season. Which cost us a good few meetings.1 point

Luckily he cleared the fence without getting hit or trapped with the bike.Lools like a wrist injury though.I agree with other post Blue wasn’t aware what was happening.1 point

Nasty looking crash that. Blue should of been more aware of the riders moving up inside of him IMO1 point

Grahn has also mentioned it on instagram, so it must be happening but maybe waiting to see if Glasgow make PO final first.1 point

Yes those two can definitely learn a thing or two from Dan Bewley, Brady Kurtz and Robert Lambert … you’re spot on1 point

Bob Dugard the same, yes he set up the track for his home riders but could change the track during the interval.1 point

Every Club has had young riders the have not fulfilled their early promise and expectations the riders have to handle the pressure ,joining Tigers is no different apart from a slightly better deal financially.Problem at Ashfield is there is not a lot of home advantage to build confidence. Pressure is part of every Sport if you want to succeed.Small percentage make it to the Top.IM0 if your not holding your own in a Team in 5-6 years it’s time to consider your at your Level.Accepting that younger riders these days might take a bit longer. Its a tough sport to reach the Top and financial outlays are huge.If you compare Polish and Gb youngsters it the same pressure (even greater)but many of them don’t make the Grade either. At the end of the day it is the rider that has to produce. ps Hausl was a huge gamble based on what he had done on track.1 point

He had some great races at Hyde Rd.... A time when this country had many absolute top level riders, and he was definitely one of the best... RIP...1 point
-
Not sure that the Tigers are good at handling young riders. Boughen was another who didn't seem to fit in/ be part of the team. Pijper tells of there being too much pressure at Glasgow and how he is more settled at Redcar. Bickley possibly another and Berge perhaps as well.1 point

The first thing we need to sort out in 2027 is we need to get the fun factor back into British speedway, it is sadly lacking in modern speedway and fans (those left ) feel it1 point
-
I have nothing against rider want to ride inPoland and earn big money. Why should GB speedway suffer from that.BSPA need to sort it out though. If Charles can earn more setting pits good luck to him but not to the detriment of GB speedway.1 point

Fans aren't being taken for mugs if a rider is missing for a genuine reason, which I'd class riding in a British Championship as. It's kinda ironic this date was chosen to avoid foreign commitments, but not British ones.1 point

That’s a bit over dramatic. There was a very entertaining meeting there only last week against Sheffield. It doesn’t throw up consistently good racing like the NSS of course it doesn’t, but I’d love to see something a bit different and see how the GP boys handle the circuit. Rather than have all tracks of a similar size and style, there should be more variation of styles IMO to find the ultimate rider at the end of the year.1 point

If only there had been a fantastic summer of hot, cloudless, evenings to run Speedway... And a plan to get the cup comps sorted early in the season...1 point
