Given his age and experience I fail to see why there can be any criticism of Harrison this season. He is a class act for his age.12 points

Don`t care about play offs, don`t care about Championships, or winning, trophies, don`t care about how crap the track was and is, don`t care about how many times we have to watch the tractor going round and round and around doing absolutely nothing. Its about one thing for me and one thing only. Free car parking.𤣠Nothing else matters.8 points

I don't see the need for it. If a meeting ends in a draw then it's already been an exciting end to the meeting with a lady heat decider. While some say it's extra value for money for fans & an extra heat to watch. That's not something fans can plan for, a fan on the fence about whether they go to watch a match, isn't going to day "you know what, let's go incase we get an extra race for our money". I just don't see what's wrong with a drawn meeting!8 points
-
It's not something I can get too excited about either way tbh... on the one hand I do enjoy an extra heat with pretty high stakes, a whole league point... but on the other hand it seems a pretty easy way to get a league point with the one race that normally would take 15 to achieve and is obviously stacked in favour of the team that has 2 big guns. On balance, it's probably not something the sport "needed"8 points

Plymouth are dammed If they do and dammed if they dont. There are not enough number one riders out there so they get one who was not riding in the league and originally was free and able to ride all of the meetings. Poland come in and chuck a load of money at someone of course they will take it as a rider but why is that Plymouth cheating? If Plymouth were really wanting to gain an advantage surely they would say he is withholding his services and they get to use a rider up to his points as apposed to a reduced points. Oh and itās seems Plymouth fans are really enjoying it this year as an FYI crowds seem to be doing really well, the team is full of real triers, the meeting is an event as apposed to just racing, the announcers do a good job of entertaining, kids get involved with races. Theres a lot of good going on at Plymouth and to be honest if they win home meetings I donāt think many really care if itās with or without klindt (in a nice way to klindt). I am looking forward to facing Poole this week. Obviously poole have a great team but the way Plymouth have been riding lately with the new team I think it could prove to be some really good meetings. instead of constantly preaching negativity on this forum why donāt you actually try and big up the sport ? sooner rather later the sport will be gone and the amount of negativity and constant swipes at teams on social media and internet will have an effect and it does effect people. for what itās worth plymouths been great this year and the paying public will tell you that (a lot who are not on here) as there seems to be a new wave of crowds coming to Plymouth.8 points

Why do we have a super heat ? . Who came up with the idea and why? Are there actually any speedway supporters anywhere who actually think it is a good idea ?8 points

Between Max & Freddy ,they have score 32 , paid 38 in their last 4 matches in 7 days (2 home 2 away)8 points

Absolutely not! Regardless of the calendar, and prevailing weather, tracks are NOT expected to be dusty! As one who attends several tracks fairly regularly, I can say with some certainty there are those where dust can be practically guaranteed, and others where it is never, ever, a problem. Dust at speedway is a result of inadequate preparation, not from any great expectations.8 points

Itās a silly concept ⦠Ipswich deserved a draw last night and so did Belle Vue for battling back7 points

So whoever does the Proboards updates blamed the lack of grip on the start line for Lynn's woes, as it played into the Lions hands (or should that be paws). Obviously this person has never been to Leicester in the last 5 seasons as they rip the start line before the meeting to produce what I feel is the grippiest start in British Speedway. This was the last meeting that I will attend at Kings Lynn this season as the last three times been there has been a delayed start for whatever reason which causes me to miss the end of the meeting as I need to be on the last train back to London at 21:42. I cannot think of another sport that is so amateurish as to have delayed starts. At times the sport does not help itself. Last week delayed for a big crowd, this week for additional track prep.7 points

Were Glasgow just really good or were scunny that bad ?me personally I think the Glasgow riders are just getting the track set up right after a few weeks consistent racing and our reserves together are scoring a lot more than their average, Villads is scoring nearly double his average max last night and the rest are scoring over there ave too ,We seem to have a great team sprit in the pits this year just need to keep this up7 points

Both, if I bore you that much, just mute me. If I replied to the post saying "I don't agree with you" without giving any context / reasoning, what would be the point of that? So I pointed out his away average has actually gone up. Then @Woke23 sent a sensible reply with his reasons for his comments. Both of us gave an opinion, it would be boring if everyone agreed all the time, there was no insults or name calling, I'd say that's what the forum is for. Obviously I like stats, if others don't that's fine too. But I don't see why I should stop using them.7 points

Just wanted to throw my two penn'orth out there after last night's meeting at Scunthorpe. Honestly, forget the score line for a moment, some of that racing was absolutely brilliant. Pure, unadulterated speedway action. The track, I thought, really came into its own after the first few heats. It offered up some fantastic lines and close battles. I admit, at the interval, I was wondering why they'd put some water down, but credit where it's due ā it really didn't impact the quality of racing in the latter half. Having moved to Lincolnshire early this year, King's Lynn is technically my closest track, but I've made it to every Scunthorpe home meeting in 2025, and I've enjoyed every single one for the sheer racing spectacle. While my heart will always belong to Coventry if they ever get back on track (fingers crossed!), for now, I consider myself a solid Scunny fan. And honestly, it's a real disappointment that there's only one home meeting left this year! You've got to admire Rob and his team there. They clearly operate within a budget, but they manage to put on a really enjoyable night of speedway. There's a proper grassroots feel to it ā good banter between the fans and the announcers, and it just feels like a genuinely honest, friendly, and affordable place to spend an evening. I think that's something to be proud of regardless of what might happen with results. Of course, it's not perfect ā the social media output, advertising, and website could all do with a boost, and sometimes hearing the announcers can be a challenge, Oh, and they could definitely do with some merchandise being sold! ā but when it comes down to what happens on the shale, Scunthorpe consistently delivers some excellent racing. Went to King's Lynn once this year, and that was quite enough for me! One more home meeting to go, I'd like to watch them away as I used to go everywhere with the Bees....maybe next year.7 points

Unbelievable, blatantly cheating, complete stupidity, very dangerous and Poole fans cheering him, bspl need to step in and fine Poole and give Oxford the points. Poole win at all cost mentality over stepping the mark at every level. All the evidence is there to see.7 points

An honourable principle to provide an exciting crescendo to a meeting and give fans an extra race in order to decide a winner However..... It is flawed by the fact that it means teams score what could be valuable match points that are not available to all competitors It cannot be right that teams drawing meetings can ultimately earn more points In a league scenario much tighter than this seasons cut and dried top 4 it could easily decide who qualifies for the play offs Example Team A has finished on 40 points and sit in 3rd place with a healthy race points advantage over those below Teams B and C are on 39 and 36 points respectively with a home and away double between them remaining So Team A are safely in the play offs right? Whatever combination of win lose draw between B and C it would be impossible to split the 5 points and see both overhaul Team A Hold my beer - here comes the super heat!! 2 draws later and 5 match points becomes 7 seeing Team A dumped from the play off positions6 points

No because we are expecting it, good to have speedway to support win lose or draw š6 points

It has been proposed before, by myself and others, that the riders in Heat 15 would not be eligible for a Super Heat. That would negate a 2 x Big Guns team's advantage.6 points

Just caught up with this and what a great advert for grass roots British Speedway! 13 committed lads, great racing, a close scoreline for the aggregate bonus point, incident and controversy. The Plymouth track has taken some stick in the past but it was spot on tonight. Absolutely put the tripe served up in Latvia in the GP to shame in comparison. The commentator mentioned it, the word of the night was commitment and without wishing to labour the point, tonight's match showed that Plymouth and British Speedway does not need the likes of Nicolai Klindt. It's just a shame that the rules and the spineless SCB are letting this situation continue with Klindt treating Plymouth like a piece of dirt and a last resort pay day.6 points

Give your head a wobble.... Without Kurtz this season would have been a write off already.... Possibly the GOAT has so far only managed three points more.... No one wins a world title without being a special talent... And that includes the likes of Szczakiel, Muller and Havelock, amongst others, who won one offs...6 points

Well done to Leicester, they were by far the better team across the two legs. But what an awful, dreadful speedway track that is. I wouldn't open my curtains if it was in my back garden. And the referee wants striking off for the heat 6 decision.5 points

Comments like yours sums up how pathetic some people are. Just can't stop sticking the knife into Poole. Yes we were lucky to get another chance in heat 15 and yes Oxford may well feel aggrieved. But to say the points should be given to Oxford or the meeting rerun. Ffs. God help us.5 points
-
Meeting should either be declared void and rerun, with Poole paying all riders and management travel and points money. Or all points awarded to Oxford At the end of the day the SCB or BSPL need to act. More than one match official breached the regulations, there's enough video, photo, written and word of mouth evidence, that if the HSE saw it and decided to get involved, you wouldn't want to be stood by the fan.5 points

I was probably very lucky to watch speedway at Hyde Rd with the great racers around in the 70ās. Weād travel to Halifax & Sheffield and they provided great racing to. I remember around ā76 we went to Coventry for the first time and PC missed the start (as always) and didnāt win. I asked Dad āwhatās up with Peterā and he explained about gaters paradise type tracks. They were in the minority back then. Itās my opinion that the Scandinavians preferred gateānāgo tracks and these then became more common over the years. More recently (if 20 years can be considered recent) Poole, Wolves & Coventry made gateānāgo their thing and with trophies following it became an option for others to follow. Add in air fences and new bikes and the trend has now taken hold. I think even with those issues tracks could still be better for racing if prepped differently. Kings Lynn have a very grippy surface and like the WC semi in 2016 when the FIM brigade prepared a grippy NSS, the racing was dull but fast. NKI setting a new track record. Slicken off Saddlebow Road and I believe the racing would improve. Wolves were just short of an outside line and it was specifically made that way when the result mattered. The Olympic was great and a dead rubber meeting in the supporters cup (which we lost) was a great spectacle. Iām sure fans at other tracks could offer up ideas to improve things though unfortunately the cost might be prohibitive. I understand why fans would look to sugar the pill when describing the entertainment at their tracks but maybe behind the scenes you need to do more with regards questioning your promotions lack of interest in providing a racetrack. Maybe then this customer will return and who knows I might bring a coach load with me again.5 points

You keep making nonsense up! We've already had a conversation like this on the Wimbledon thread when you tried to claim this and you were proved completely wrong there as well. There is absolutely NO doubt over Oxford's future. It's a business currently making a healthy profit, they get good crowds every week and have a lease that doesn't expire until 2032, with a high probability of that being extended if Kevin Boothby's latest comments are anything to go by. Why you keep lying to suit your own anti-speedway agenda is beyond me. Do you get a kick out of it? But why don't YOU tell us all what the speculation over Oxford's future is? Enlighten us all as maybe you know something everybody else doesn't.4 points

There are plenty of fans and contributors to this forum that would like nothing more than for Swindon Speedway to return, myself included, but like you and many others that have been around this whole sorry saga from the start, know deep down that it is unlikely to ever happen, and as Swindon Council have always complied fully with Osborne, then have no doubt that the Abbey is sadly history once the formalities have been completed. One thing for sure the next few months are going to be very interesting following the the process.4 points
