WookieboyDon
TERRY RUSSELL 1950-2026 – British Speedway Official Website Condolences to his friends and family.
SteveArena
Very sad to hear this. Terry along with Ivan Henry were great at Arena for the years they were there. I know he was part of the consortium trying to bring Speedway back to Swindon so this must have been sudden. All the best to his family and friends at this time.
Steve0
Very sad to hear about this. He was a bit like Marmite but he was instrumental in getting the original Sky contract all those years ago and him and his brother were key figures at Swindon. RIP Terry. martinmauger
A big shame. I certainly didn't agree with everything Terry Russell said or did but gotta say he did blooming well (to say the least) wis his involvement getting speedway shown on Sky Sports & into the (was) Millienium Stadium, now Principality Stadium in Cardiff. RIP....
Ray Stadia
I've been confused and lost with the in's and out's of the Russells, but at the end of the day, RIP Mr T Russell.
Andy Downes
Always grateful that he saved Crayford Speedway in 1981 - just as I was getting into the sport. Knew him a little through the early Hackney away weekend trips and seemed a decent guy. Commiserations to his family

SteveLyric2
R.I.P. Terry. I met him a few times socially and he was good company. I hesitate to ask this, but what effect if any will it have on Swindon Motorsports and their proposals?

It was never going to happen anyway, so there will be no effect. Speaks volumes that Motorsports couldn’t even acknowledge one of their directors passing.
