Can only assume that he might be out for a bit and they want to ring the changes. Ellis - I would have been happy to see him at Ipswich this year - he will probably be better than Zagar. Ellis at least gives fans a "home" rider to cheer for (if they're that way inclined) and I know I'm more forgiving of a youngster developing like McDiarmid that a journeyman on his way out. He's posted today saying he has been doing physio and would have been back for this week's fixture. You've now replaced batch who in his last two meetings had top scored for Northampton with a young Aussie who has never rode around Northampton or many of the Premier League tracks at that. Its all the usual stuff though giving up if he doesn't trap in front etc time and again, we all know they were on the back foot from the get go with Batch, Lidsey, Zagar and Klindt who can all not fancy it half the time , the other three riders have exceeded expectations though. If they can get a proper committed number one next year and get down to 1-2 riders who might not fancy it rather than four they should win most home meetings. Batch has done better the last 2 home meetings, but to be fair, he only top the scoring against KL, because he had 7 rides! Think it's timely whether he's injured or not. Don't think he had come to terms with the track. There was always at least one race a meeting where he seemed to get caught out by it. Shame about Matej, but just not on it enough. NK should relinquish the captaincy (NKI?). concentrate on himself to get back to form. We know it's there somewhere by the scores he' s been putting up for other teams. Haven’t followed Ellis vigorously this year, but every time I check in and look at the Polish scores at the weekend, he seems to be top scoring and riding really well.
