You would hope not, before the fixture list is sorted they should be saying the British final is on this date so plan around as you can't run on this date. Then promote the event, run coaches from league tracks if the interest is there, get the event out to the public.

But surely this fixture should have been planned, even if unofficial, so the championship could avoid the fixture. But no, looks like British speedway shoots it's self in the foot again. 3 championship fixtures planned, 1 team on a northern tour, probably to help save costs, now these fixtures will have to be rescheduled. Upsetting 6 championship teams / fans to have the British final on a Saturday. I can remember many Sunday afternoon British finals at Coventry with upto 10000 fans on the terraces, what do we get now 1500 if your lucky

Riders like say Richard Lawson or Craig Cook may want to go to the British final but at the moment the championship fixture clashes Richard Lawson doesn’t do the British Final anymore because he doesn’t like the NSS. I do see where you're coming from, but it hasn't been enforced. Edited 6 hours ago by lucifer sam

The Championship fixtures were set out well in advance of any Premiership planning (which would presumably include Belle Vue's dates) so we cannot blame the league that was organised enough to publish an early schedule. Maybe the winner in August will be the wild card for the 2027 British GP? Making it slightly more appealing to some riders? If the Championship schedule was maintained, and the meetings at Berwick, Plymouth and Workington (featuring Oxford, Edinburgh and Poole) went ahead, there wouldn't be sixteen British riders available to turn out at Belle Vue! Thus, the three Championship matches will have to be postponed -- which is a pity, given the clubs and supporters involved will have been issuing fixture listings and planning travel. Not a good look for the BSPA this time, seemingly running roughshod over the lower(?) league's more-efficient planning. Their capacity for both having and eating cake remains unrivalled.
