Poole Pirates Vs Berwick Bandits Championship 29th July

Recommended Posts

On Wednesday the Pirates take on the Bandits for the second time this season, only this time league points are up for grabs.

Last time the teams met was in the knockout Cup and the Bandits were the winners despatching the Pirates over two legs including a 20 points win at home.

Poole will need to be on top form with the Bandits having riders who can ride Wimborne Road very well.

Nick Morris can be a handful and Jye Etheridge can be fast from the tapes. Peter Kildermand if available could also be a danger.

The middle order for Berwick is where I think the Pirates could come out on top. Victor Pallovaara and Jordon Jenkins could possibly be the weak link. Jenkins was at reserve last time and is coming back from injury.

Rede Battie hasn't ridden Wimborne Road before and Jack Smith isn't that great at Poole.

The Pirates need to be fired up for this meeting and need to not only win, but by enough to be in contention for the bonus point when the teams meet at Shielfield Park on the 8th August.

Thoughts.

The KO home leg was a pretty horrid night for Pirate's fans as I remember it, no Lawson /Harris proving to be an uninspired guest, Bowes bowing out after two heats with his undiagnosed injury, newly promoted number 4 Rushen didn't have the best of nights finishing with a questionable exclusion in heat 14. Plus the Bandit's had Flint guesting who did well. All in all 47/43 seemed like a bit of a frustrating result at the time. The challenge facing the Bandits on Wednesday will be a Very different if the Pirates perform like last week, they rode well individually and there was also good team ridding too. I'm expecting a strong performance on Wednesday, 10+ home win.

Easy home win incoming

Tend to agree.

Not got close in any away meetings this season (except Workington and Poole in the KOC).

Hopefully improve in other competitions and keep the run going when at Plymouth in the cup final.

I thought that was supposed to be when we didn't have a home meeting. And this fixture has always been in fixture list?

Perhaps he will pull a sicky 😂

It looks like Richard Lawson is in the Brovst team for the home match with Region Varde, Berwick`s Peter Kildemand named in the Fjelsted team to face Slangerup on the same night.

Let's hope Leon Flint not in place of Kilderman again

Surely it would only be fair if this time Flint guests for Poole and Bomber for Berwick.

Tbf Kildermand is understandable as he is actually Danish. Lawson should be getting banned for that, it is ridiculous.

I'll second a ban for Mr Lawson let's start at a month and only be replaced by a NDL rider 😜🤣
