I think that judgment is harsh, this is a person's  livelihood (with a new family to support)as well as a sport. Can you really expect riders to simply ride for your entertainment? If the Fords had wanted/ valued it Lawson's obliged absences could have been AVOIDED, the promoters have basically not been the shrewd operators that they imagine they are. Their decisions have determined who rides on Wednesday, not Lawson. So yes he was forced into it!

No, i meant no one forced him to sign for a Danish club. Also Lawson has another job outside speedway as well. I doubt he is hard up for cash but that is just my opinion on past interviews.

End of the day he should be banned as he is 'withholding his services.'

The club a rider signs for first gets priority in my opinion, not a club in Poland Denmark or Timbuktu after, We all want whats best for a rider but you cant have clubs saying hes ours now he rides when we tell him..

But i quess theres soo many loopholes its hard to say who he signed for first...do you go by,, hes rode for us for 5 yrs or at the beginning of each season?maybe why riders say in May June they are pleased to say they have signed for another season in Poland?

I think Pickering signed for us as he wasnt in a team abroad but got picked as he looked a promise,Scunny should get priority unless its a rearranged match but of his team decides they are racing on friday and he goes abroad he should be banned here for a week...but Poland would ban him for the season if he didnt go

But he's not withholding his services, the situation has arisen because Poole promotion have CHOSEN to arrange/rearrange matches when they know Lawson may well be unavailable (because his danish club has pre-arranged fixtures on those days). If Poole stick to the original fixtures and avoid clashes with the other club's, the Pirates have priority on Richards services.

Of course it would be great if our club could have exclusive rights to a riders services, but that simply isn't practical/possible in the current UK speedway set up. Where a top Championship rider needs to ride in a number of leagues in order to make it a viable proposition.

That’s why there should be no guests in these situations.Clubs do not give a jot regarding fans.Expected to turn up and watch anybody ride for the Team.Thats not credible .IMO

crowd levels won’t increase with that attitude.

Riders dictating the Sport.soon the will have find work outside the Sport.!

Sport can't go much lower surely in the UK.

Remember when every night you had clubs fixed nights in the PL? Monday Exeter and Reading every week, Tuesday IOW and Trelawny, Weds was Hull and KL , Swindon and Sheffield Thursday, Edinburgh, Somerset, Arena Friday, Rye, Worky, Stoke, Berwick Saturday and Glasgow, Newport, Newcastle Sunday? Every week barring the odd rain off or one week gap.

Tbf Kildermand is understandable as he is actually Danish. Lawson should be getting banned for that, it is ridiculous.

I don't think a facility should he allowed for this. If a rider for a Wednesday club wants to sign for a Danish team, it should be on the understanding that his British club comes first, with no facility allowed.

If Poole still want to sign him, they have to accept a 75% guest.

If the Danish club doesn't agree, they can choose another rider.

If Lawson wants to ride more in Denmark, he can choose a different British club.

But what currently happens, makes a mockery of the guest rules imo.

Kildemand missing 2 away tracks a year (Poole & Oxford) doesn't bother me as he's Danish.

But if Palovaara or Morris missed a Wednesday to ride in Denmark, I'd say no "facility" for that too.

The Leicester performance tonight doesn't make great reading Kemp 15/6 Masters 6/5 from a Poole point of view.

Re: the absence of Lawson on Wednesday if you want somebody to blame why not the person/people who decided to cancel the Berwick KO heat cos it coincided with a football match (balancing the cost of running a poorly attended KO heat against potentially a well supported final) and of course the person/people who decided to swop the scheduled league heat with the KO heat. (That was the real clanger). These decisions directly resulted the Richard being contractualy obliged to ride for the Danish team on both occasions. Lawson is just trying to make riding speedway fit his life, he's done nothing wrong he's just doing what he has signed up to. The Fords on the other are making executive decisions that determine who actually rides for Poole on the night.

I will try again.

This has always been the league fixture between Poole and Berwick. Nobody at Poole has changed this fixture (it was the meeting at Berwick that was changed).

This has been one of the 4 Berwick BSN matches from the start of the season. I have just checked my Berwick program from the first meeting of the season and this meeting is shown in the program so how can it be rearranged?

If you think this situation is bad, wait until next season, as if rumoured Poland introduce a Poland + 1 other league rule for any rider in the first 2 polish leagues 😲. So say Mr Lawson or A N Other signs for a polish team, he could only ride for 1 of Poole, Ipswich or Denmark. How will the British leagues cope with no double uppers, or no Danish riders as the will ride in Denmark for sponsorship.

If that's the case, Lawson should be at Poole then

Wouldn't he be banned if he doesn't go?...

It was mentioned that he should be asked on BSN last night about why he is in Denmark and not the UK..

Maybe the promoters of Poole should have explained why when informing everyone that they had booked Sam Masters to replace him...

It is hardly the fault of the riders that such situations occur is it?..

I agree with that. Also I don’t think they should be able to have a guest in for Bowes. They got rid with out a replacement lined up and seemingly just going to use guests for the foreseeable. There’s plenty of riders out there. Maybe on lesser averages but they should have someone in that place.

Bowes has a long term injury, we didn't just get rid. If they replace him it will be with an a rider who will do a good job for the team not just any rider who fits.

To everyone else it just looks like an underperforming rider has been given the boot so guests who will preform better can be used. Poole could bring in a ndl rider and guide and develop them. But that’s not there way.
